Were-animals

We've all heard of were-wolves, but what about all the rest of the animals? Why did everyone forget about them? The only reason were-wolves are more popular is because they went crazy and blood-thirsty at night because of an experiment went wrong.
In an ancient forest, a long time before the wolf accident, lived several different kinds of were-animals, forgotten to the world around them. Any human that happened to cross one of them, would be bitten and brought into a new world, composed of several different clans:

Human form: As human, Noëlle has - for her age especially - very long hair. It has an almost gold colour, and her eyes - yellow - match perfectly with it. Her ears are pretty small, while her eyes are actually pretty big.
Animal form: As fox, Noëlle keeps her gold color, but then at her fur of course. Her tummy is white and she has white socks as well. Her tail is pretty furry.

Bio: Noëlle likes to play, but learning as well. But, she isn't really good at concentrating, so most of the time she is playing. When she's in human form she also likes to dance, but she isn't really good at it.

The wind whistled past the leaves of the ancient trees, making an almost musical, pleasant sound. The sun had just started to peak through. But still no one came to save her.
The owl felt her life seeping out of her with every drop of blood, ruining her pure white feathers. She sighed, trying to stay conscious. The pain was overwhelming her, and she wondered when the clan would notice her gone.

A few hours earlier:
The full moon was high in the sky, and, as custom, all the hunters of all the clans would go out to a kind of party. Meriona was one of them. What they'd do was turn into animals and go out almost danicing, mixing with the other clans. Full moon was the only night in which biting a human would have effect.
Two creatures, a wolf and a tiger, had gotten into a fight, and were attacking each other with all they had. One of them had turned back to their human form and tried to strike the other with their spear. Instead, it hit Meriona, who was trying to break them apart.
She fell to the ground, still as a statue. The others of her clan, furious, pecked the person to death. Then that was when all the clans started attacking one another. Forgetting Meriona. Eventually, they managed to find their senses and calm down. And they all went back to their respective parts of the forest.

When all the clans were fighting with each other, Noëlle just stood a few meters further. She watched how all the blood flew, and the angry eyes, but she didn't got scared. She lied down, and would wait till it ends. And then she the owl, the white owl, wich made this al begin. Now she did got scared, even tough she didn't know why. She stood up, and made some staps backward. Then she turned around, and ran back to her home. After a few minutes she felt asleep, and when she woke up, the sun was shining. She wondered if they already stopped fighting, so she went back to the place. There she saw the owl, again, but in stead of walking back from it, she walked towards it.

Meriona heard footsteps aproaching, but she couldn't move. She just waited. Waiting was the only thing she could do in her condition. The pain was still there, it was still attacking her. The footsteps got closer.

Noëlle wondered of the owl was dead, because it didn't move. So when she finally arrived by the owl, she poked it and asked 'Hey, are you still alive?'

Meriona felt the poke, and she groaned in response. She couldn't do anything else.

Noëlle was kinda happy that the owl was still alive. But, she had no idea what to do. If she would let it here, it would die. But if she would bring it to her clan, it would probably be eaten. She sighed and went to the forest. Her mom had taken her to the forest one day as well, and learned her about all the plants. Which to eat, and which not, and also which one could heal. She ranned trough the forest searching for some plants. Noëlle isn't really a wonder in searching things, and so it did took her a while to find some plants which she could use. She took them in her mouth and ran back to the owl.

Meriona heard the footsteps go away and waited again. She felt the pain burn inside her more than ever. She soon heard light paw-steps coming back.

Noëlle took a look at the wounds, chewed at the plants and lied them at the wounds. She looked at the owl her face, hoping to see a sign that it worked.

Meriona winced, but soon felt strength slowly return. She stirred. She slowly opened her eyes. She was still to weak to move, so she turned back into a human and said, 'Thank you.' Then all went black.

Noëlle had no idea what to do now, should she stay with the girl? She didn't thought long, but decided to stay. Because if she would leave, the girl would probably die. So she lied down - still in animal form - and waited until the girl would wake up again.

It was early evening when Meriona awoke. She yawned. When she stretched, her injury started hurting again. 'Bah, I forgot about that,' she said to herself. Then she realized that she wasn't in bed, and that a fox was lying next to her. Then all the memories of last night came flooding in. She looked at her wound and saw the herbs, starting to peel. She knew that she had to leave them there until they dropped off on their own.

Noëlle smiled when the girl woke up. She turned into an human as well, in case the girl wanted to talk. Well, she was going to talk anyway. 'How are you doing?' she asked, after a few minutes thinking.

'Alright, I guess. Again, thank you for helping. I don't think I would've made it without you,' said Meriona, looking at the girl. 'You're quite young. What's your name?'

'Noëlle' she answered, forgetting to ask what her name was. She was pretty proud of herself, she saved a girl.
