Is it a cake, or is it a pie. An interesting philosophical proposition. I'm afraid the answer is the one we could least expect, however.
The cheesecake... IS A FLAN.
Please do clean up your minds, as they've been surely BLOWN. |
thats an unfounded lie Flan is a custard and has eggs in it while cheesecake does not

| It looks a lot like a pie to me.
So I think it's a pie.

| IT'S A PASTRY THINGIE.
My hubby says it's a cake just because it's got "cake" in it's name.
I don't like it. >.<

| Idk, but it has cake in the name so I think it's a cake. Maybe it's just one of God's mysteries O_O.

| Cheesecake has crust, therefore it is pie.

| It's a tart, (depending on the type of cheesecake) it has no pastry/potato top and is therefor a tart. Pies have covers. Cheesecake does not.

| Cheesecake is technically a custard tart I believe. Not a pie because pies are covered, not a cake because of the consistency. It needs the crust because as a custard, it won't hold itself together.

| Honestly, I don't know the difference between the pie and the cake (Englich is foreign for me). But I have always called a small thing you can eat at once a pie, they can be with potatoes or cabbage or eggs inside. And I call something big and round and sweet (usually chocolate or fruit) a cake.

| I have never seen it as a Pie, I have always been told it is a CAKE!! It is a cake and it the only CAKE I hate!! [bleh]
You try eatting your birthday cake and it not be the flavor you want!! Yeah one year I had cheese cake for a birthday cake and I didn't like it nor want it but I was force to eat it!! So I hate cheese cake with a passion.
