| I saw the recent movie, and in my opinion it was one of the most accurate yet although like them all I too wish there were things that had been left in. For one example, as Jimbo stated the battle at Hogwarts between Greyback, Bellatrix and whatever others against the Order of the Phoenix and Hogwarts gang.
I was real disappointed too they they totally left Bill, and the developing relationship between Lupin and Tonks out, which are actually related concepts since at the end in the Hospital wing Tonks sees how Fleur still loves a mangled Bill from Grayback attacking and tries to convince Lupin that it could work between them as well. Their relationship is important for their death in the final book. Because I believe she meant it to make Teddy's parental situation just like Harry's.
I also didn't much care for the beginning scene where he's at the diner with that black girl. That scene made no sense to me, I preferred the book's scene of Dumbledore having a chat with the Dersleys. Speaking of which they have been skipping the Dersleys since the fourth movie and in the final Dudley is supposed to actually show support for Harry because saving his butt in the fifth book gave him a much needed attitude adjustment. That's like an EPIC moment, so the final movies had better bring them back for that.
I too felt that Draco's acting was wonderful, I had never really paid much attention to Draco in the movies before but the sixth book really changes the reader's image of him from the school bully that we all hated to an innocent, fragile young kid scared to death of this large dark task he's been given. He especially put on a great performance in the end when it was time to carry out this task. He really makes you feel bad for him especially when Bellatrix starts encouraging him.
The one other large problem I had with the film was that there was not nearly enough around the Half Blood Prince. It's the title of the book and they did almost nothing with it. No jealous Hermione getting on Harry's case about using the book being cheating or doing research in the library that led her to Elieen Prince. And the hiding the book thing was very wrong.
I also would have liked to see more memories, that was my favorite part in the book, the memories. Plus Harry is supposed to become so into following and spying on Draco that he forgets to focus on Dumbledore's assignment for him to get the memory from Slughorn. And then Hermione is supposed to get on his case about that too.
There were some changes that I think enjoy though, the retrieving the memory scene where Slughorn talks about the fish given to him by Lily I liked the symbolism there, and also the end scene where Harry is crying over Dumbledore's body in Ginny's arms. I thought that got the feeling across very well, maybe even a little more so than the funeral from the book, but I don't remember that scene 100% I have not read the books for years.

| I've read all the books and I must say that I really loved them.
However the movies always made me sad. I don't like the actors and the way they shorten stories. I know that book is too long for 1,5 hour movie, but I bet that if you have never read the books you wouldn't understand a thing.

-->SPOILER ALERT!
I don't have the book on hand with me. Cause I borrowed it from a friend to read. So which part are you confused with?
Btw, I STRONGLY disliked J.K. Rowling's choice of pairings at the end where it goes into the future. T_T I hate Harry&Ginny and Ron&Hermione together! D:< |
Even though it, in teh quoted post.. SPOILERZ AHEAD!
I liked the Ron & Hermione pairing, I pretty much knew from book one they'd be together by the end.
Not sure how I feel about Harry & Ginny.. Harry & Draco would have been love. Although, from a writer's perspective, I can understand not having guy/guy or girl/girl pairings. No kids means no possible sequels to a story.
I'm not sure what female I'd have liked seen paired with Harry, but I never got the feel from Ginny that she really loved him, always felt more like a school girl crush to me.
I hate that one of the twins dies. I'm ashamed to admit I dun remember which twin. *has a sucky memory for names*
I haven't seen past the second movie, they butchered the books so much it's not worth watching until the characters are old enough that I dun feel bad for ogling the actors.

| I have read each of the Harry Potter books at least 10 times.
I have seen the movies about 3 times each.
Sadly, the movies aren't even that great compared to the books.
I'm hoping that the last movie will top them all, literally and figuratively.
I have yet to be impressed with a movie -.-
Anyways...
Great ending to the series! I loved it!
