Introduction:
Hello and welcome to my first trip in the fabulous world of collaborative stories!
I'm not really good at making introduction, so I'll try to make this one as clear as possible. As said above, this will be a collaborative story. A collaborative story is basically a story where people take turns to write. How is it different from a role-play, then? Well, in role-playing, you play a role, or character, and you have to stick to that character when writing. In a collaborative story, you take what the others have written before you and use that to add something new to the story. As I said before, though, this is the first time I make a story like that, so I have no idea about how it will turn out. If I feel it's good enough, I'm planning to use this project as the base of a new role-play. And otherwise, it will just go on until I think it's good enough.
Make sure you read the rules before writing something though, as I would like to keep this thread as clean as possible and I don't want to have to ask the mods to erase every other post because people can't follow the rules. Note that, the rules are simple enough, so that everyone can understand them. And if you're not sure about something, just PM me or someone on the white list. Those people have been active in this thread for a long time and know how it works, so don't be afraid to ask them questions if you have any.
From time to time, I'm going to make a little summary of what have happen so far, so that new people can easily understand where we are and what we are doing. Of course, if you are going to participate in the writing process, I strongly suggest you read everything that had been written before you post, to make it more seamless, but I understand that it could become harder as the story goes on and I don't want people to say: "I would have loved to participate but I didn't have the time to read everything..." So yeah, I'm going to make summaries... And again, be sure you read the rules before posting anything!
Now, about the story. It will be a sci-fi story based in the late 26th century of the human calendar and will take place in a wonderful place called Eden (Note: Eden is a space-station, not the paradise thing). At this point in time, the humanity has came in contact with many other races, and after years of conflicts, they have decide to form a Galaxian Council together, somewhat similar to what the U.N is today. This council will meet in Eden and decide important things about the future of the galaxy. It's more a an action political story than anything else, but there's place for lots of stuff to happen.
So, without further ado, let's start with the lists...
The Lists:
The lists are here to provide information about who have done what in this thread. When you first come here, you are on no list. Then, if you do good or bad things, you will be added to one of the two lists below. The white list is for people who have shown their qualities in this thread and worked hard on making it what it is now, while the black list is for people who have broken the rules and are no longer welcome here.
White List:
- Maeve: I created this place, so yeah, I think I deserve a place on this list lol
- MelancholyMelody~: For her support and help with the races and names, and for being awesome!
Black List:
- None for now. Let it be that way for a long time.

| The Rules:
1. Follow Midorea's Rules and Terms of Service. I don't think I need to explain anything about that.
2. Follow the following rules every time you want to post here. Hello! I'm not writing those just for my own fun, you know!
3. Only post here if you want to participate in the story writing process. If you would like to comment on something, or if you have ideas for the plot or something, PM me. I want this to be a continuous story, not two post of story, one of comment, etc.
4. Reserve your post before you start writing anything. This is just to prevent two people from trying to write something at the same time. I mean, imagine you just check the story, than you start writing something, but before you're finished, someone comes and posts something, meaning you will have to review your complete text to include the new things. Frustrating, isn't it? Then, reserve your post! Just post something saying you will post your text later. You will then have a week to post an add-on to the story. If, in a week, you have not post anything, your reserved post will be considered void and anyone will have the right to come and post something new.
5. If you realize you're not going to be able to finish your text in a week, do something. You can basically do two things: 1° if you realize you need one or two days, just to finish everything and make it clean and nice, just write it in your reserved post with the date (a maximum of three days will be allowed, then you're out); or 2° erase your reservation. As far as I know, if no one as post after you, you will be able to erase your post by clicking the little X besides the "Edit" and "Quote" buttons. If you have thought you would like to participate, but finally can't find enough time/ideas to do anything, that's the best solution.
6. Maximum of three reservations at the time! If you would like to write something for the story, you will need to wait until the person that is currently writing is done. Though, if you're sure you want to write something and that you'll have time for it, you can reserve your place in advance. If there are already three reserved post, you'll need to wait until the first person finished her writing to post yours.
7. Don't edit anything! You have one week to make your text as good as possible, which leaves you plenty of time to add new things and correct the few that could be wrong.
8. You can use BBCodes, but not too much. The main story should be posted in Midorea's default color, meaning no BBCode is added to it. However, if you have multiple characters talking at the same time, or want to write something that is not in the main plot yet, like the introduction of a new character or something, you can use different colors. You can also use bold and italic for special things, shouting or thinking for example. I guess the main thing is just make sure it's still readable.
9. Be literate! I don't ask you to be perfect in everything, but again, you have one week to complete your text, so that leaves you plenty of time to correct most grammar mistakes and make everything as good as you can. Note that this thread is technically a semi-literate text, meaning there's not a lot of grammar mistakes, but some work could be done on the vocabulary and all, but that doesn't mean you can't be more literate. In fact, it is strongly recommend that you write as best as you can, so that others are inspired to do the same.
10. Any post that I feel isn't suitable in this place can, and will, be erase. That just means don't break the rules and don,t make me waste my time. If you do, you're gonna end up on the black list and will no longer have the right to post in here.
11. I can add new rules at any time. If needed...
The FAQs:
Q: What are FAQs?
A: FAQs, or Frequently Asked Questions, are usually used to answer questions that a lot of people might have. I personally use them to clarify the rules, as well as include some things that I can't really put in the rules but that are still important.
Q: What is this thing / How does it works?
A: Read the first and second post again, you should have most of the answers you need. If you still have question about that, feel free to PM me.
Q: Can I join? And how?
A: Of course you can! If you want to join, start by reading everything. Then, go to the end of the thread and look if someone as reserved a post. If yes, you will need to wait until that person is finished to post something. If not, then you can reserved your post and start writing your add-on to the story.
Q: Does my text have to be a certain length or be of a certain quality?
A: I expect people to make real addition to the story when they post something. That doesn't mean your post have to be extra-long, as long as it says what it needs to say. I would aim for at least 15 lines once posted, otherwise I somewhat fear it would go too slow. As of quality goes, I want to have at least semi-literate text, but of course you can write in a more literate way if you want. Just check what the other people have written before you and that should be about what I want to see.
Q: Can I add new characters / places / items / etc.?
A: You can, but make sure you have read the first couple of posts before. They contain the information about people and places we have created so far, so maybe what you need is already there. If it isn't, you can add it. Just make sure it fits with the rest of the story, ok?

| The World:
As said in the introduction, this story will take place in the late 26th century, exactly in the year 2576 AD. The human have been travelling through space for nearly half a millennium now and have entered in contact with many extra-terrestrial races. Most of those races are as advanced as the humans are, most of them being in fact more advanced than the humans. They can travelled through the galaxy quite easily, though travel between galaxy has not been successful up until now. But of course, with the new contacts come the new problems, and though the humans have made friends with some races, they have also became enemies with others*.
After years and years of conflicts, the most advanced races of the galaxy have united to for the Galaxian Council, an organization that would ruled over the galaxy in an attempt to preserve the fragile peace and the less-developed races. Each advanced race was allowed to have at least one representative at the council table, where all decision would be discussed and approved by the majority before they are applied. Though, you cannot erase years of conflicts in a second, and even if all the races admitted in the council have sworn to keep the peace, some keep a rather important grudge against the others, making discussion a really complicated and painful process.
When the story started, the council had only been formed for a month or so and all of the races are still in the process of choosing who will represent them. A human space-station known as Eden has been chosen to greet the regular meetings of the council, though so extra-ordinary session may be held somewhere else if needed. Everything is being put in place to create the first Code of Laws of the council. No one really knows how this will turned out, but hopefully everyone will come to an agreement.

| The Space-Station: Eden
Eden was first imagine as a protected area in which plants and animals species could be preserved from extinction, or even re-create with the most recent DNA clonage techniques. Though, making something like that would be expensive, and let's say, not that useful if no one could never see it. So, the human team that was working on the project decided to place it in a convenient spot, the centre of the galaxy, and choose to include multiple space-ports and services, so that travellers would stop there for refuelling and resupplying their spaceships. At the same time, they could visit the reserves, called farms, much like we visit a zoological garden today.
With those ideas in mind, the humans started working on their project at the beginning of the 26th century, soon realizing that they would need help to complete the project in time for 2550, the 100th anniversary of the end of the last great war, which had united humanity under the rule of a democratic council for once. The humans turned toward the Nagas, the first extra-terrestrial race they had met in their travel. Nagas were slightly more advanced than the humans, and they had always been there to help... well, almost always, since they prefer not to intervene in human-human relations.
The Nagas accepted to help the humans, but providing they would have access to the space-station just as much as the humans had. This was immediately accepted, and the new alliance started working on the project. Many years and many tries later, the station was finally completed and ready to open its door. The final design had changed quite a bit from what was first planned, but at least is was finished and was working great. Humans and Nagas started to move some of their people their to make everything work, as well as some animals and plants. The station soon became an essential part of the galaxian travels, with almost every ships stopping there. And in consequence, Eden soon became too small for the flow of travellers and the residents needed to provide all the services. It was then expand by the addition of two smaller towers on each side of the station, providing enough space for everyone.
In 2576, Eden was chosen to be the meeting place of the Galaxian Council, due to its central location. It was easily accessible for everyone, and with the years, it had developed many kind of environment, suitable for all races to live into. Of course, the station needed some work before it was ready to accommodate the diplomats and representatives, but that was easily done. And, if someone needed something else, there was still plenty of space in and around the station to add more rooms.
Eden is now composed of five cylindrical towers, each being 3 kilometres tall. The top and bottom ones measures 2,5 kilometres in diameter. The two towers between the extremities and the central one are 5 kilometres in diameter, and the middle one is 10 kilometres wide. Each of those towers is split in three equal stories. One story is a large space where little building are then built to accommodate the needs of the station. They all possess a holographic ceiling and water system, recreating the common weather found on Earth and the various sky effects. For the few stories where the buildings resting on the side wall don,t go all the way to the top, the holographic system is extended to make it look like a real sky. Though they are all used for different purposes, the stories are each built around a central point: the station elevator, which allows people to travel through the station. The elevator is in fact composed of many little elevators, each being able to carry around 25 people. They pass by every floor every five minutes or so. There's normally a little empty space around the elevator and then buildings start going up, shorter ones first, and higher ones as you get closer to the exterior wall of the station. All the towers are filled with air rich in oxygen and nitrogen, which is recycled by a special equipment down on the last floor of the station. If needed, special apartments can be created and filled with other substances for extra-terrestrial creatures.
The following will describe each tower and floor with more details. Note that, the first tower is the one at the top of the space-station, while the fifth one is at the bottom. Same thing goes for floor: first floor is the highest of a tower and last floor is at the bottom.
First Tower:
First Floor: This floor is located at the top of the station. It is composed a a large hollowed tower going all the way to the top of the story, with a large central place in the middle. The tower in itself is a pretty standard buildings with many offices and meeting rooms, some having windows giving on the internal garden or on the outside space. It is divided in four quarters, one for each of the main function (internal and external services, Eden management and Galaxian Council quarter). This tower is often referred to as the Headquarter, since it is where all the decision are taken. The first floor of the Headquarter tower is composed of many restaurant and services to accommodate the workers, so that they don't need to go down to the lower floors to get what they need and can stay focus on their work. The central place is like a large park, with plants, trees, fountains and benches. It is separated in four quarters by large paved boulevards, each leading to one of the elevators. Unlike the other floors, this one doesn't have a central elevator, but rather four little ones that have a restricted access system to protect this zone. After all, it is the place where the leaders of the Council meet, and no one wants to put them in danger.
Second Floor: This floor is composed of multiple habitation towers, large boulevards bordered with trees and plants and large park-like areas. It is reserved for the higher-class residents of the station. The apartments are larger than what you can find in the rest of the station and can easily be changed to accommodate special needs. This floor possess a central elevator, linking it to the lower floors, and also four little elevator that only goes up to the first floor of the tower. To use those, you need a special pass showing that you are allowed to entered this protect perimeter. Most of the residents of this floor possess one of those cards though, as most of them work on the top floor, occupying the most important jobs in the station.
Third Floor: This floor is quite similar to the one above, but it has a little less green areas and more habitation buildings. The apartments found there are also smaller than those of the second floor, and cheaper too, which make them the perfect place for the middle-class workers of the station. The general layout of this space is similar to the one above, except it only has one elevator located in the middle of the floor.
Second Tower:
First Floor: This is the scholar zone of the station. It was added to Eden as it grew bigger and had more workers, most of them bringing their family to live on the station with them. It was also a good idea to form new workers, who needed to know specialized skills that were not available to learn on any planet. Unlike most of the other floors, the centre of this one is not a vacant space, but is rather the home of the Galaxian Archives, a huge tower one kilometre tall containing information about anything and everything in the galaxy. The station elevator passes right through it, and to enable people to see the magnificent building, it's side are made of clear glass. The Archives exit on a large park-like area with paved roads and small garden. A larger road splits the floor in half, one of the side being reserved for general education purpose, libraries, schools and museums, and the other side being used for universities, laboratories and other specialized centres. Though the other floors have a quite modern feeling with all the glass, metal and plastic environment, this one was inspired by old British and American colleges, meaning all buildings are made of brick, mostly red one, with old architectural details.
Second Floor: This floor is the marketplace of the station. It is build like one large, clean, white mall, with a large central area looking like a public market, where people can get most of their groceries and common items. Small shops are built around it, and large ones as you get closer to the exterior wall. Many roads divided the space, making it a real maze for people who are not used to it. Everything in this section is white: the walls, the floor, the uniforms of most workers... The only exception is for the glass or plastic panels some shopkeeper use to divide their space. Some little areas have been reserved to be used as resting areas, with little benches, tables and flowers. A couple of restaurants or snack-selling cars can always be found around those. Since no motor vehicle are allowed in Eden, delivery system has been implemented, using either robotic deliverymen or a specially designed teleportation system (only available for the larger stores).
Third Floor: This floor is the closest to the touristic area, and was therefore designed to be an hotel/service zone for travellers. The large central place is full of restaurants and boutiques selling souvenirs. Then, a large portion of the space left is divided in four by the main roads, one quarter for each of the most important hotel of the galaxy, which are more like large resorts than simple hotels. The X hotel is located in the north-eastern corner, shining like a newborn star. It has a very modern and contemporary feel, with is clean lines and bright colors. According to its manager, the hotel will provide anything to its costumers, providing they can pay for it, that is. The Queen Neko hotel is located in the south-eastern corner. The brand was first created a long time ago on Earth, when a large hotel brand known as "Queen" merged with an entertainment park line called "Neko Lands". It is a good place for young families, with many activities and sections built for kids. It has a good friendly atmosphere and is the cheapest of the four resorts. The Sultan is located in the south-western corner. It is a more formal resort, with that special feeling of luxe and glamour. It is known for its beautiful private gardens, great restaurants and prestigious celebrations. It is also the resort with the highest average price. And finally, the Sakura. with its beautiful alleys bordered with blooming cherry trees, is located in the north-western corner. Though it's named is Japanese, the Sakura is the only large hotel on the station to be owned by extraterrestrials. It is the property of a large Naga entrepreneur group. The Sakura offers a large variety of rooms, foods, services and activities, all of that in the comfort of a five-star resort. The little ring of space left, close to the exterior wall, is reserved for less appealing and cheaper hotels, as well as storage buildings and various services.
Third Tower:
First Floor: This floor is divided in three equal section: one being covered by farms, one by dense forests and the last by high mountains. Farms are both the land used to grow food and resources for the station and the zoological parks and botanical gardens. It was called "farm" in the first place because it is a DNA farm, meeting that the DNA of all the species grown there is collected and saved in the Galaxian Archives. It is a great place for travellers who want to know more about ancient Earth and the different forms of life on it. The mountains and forests sections are also used as farmed, recreating the environment of various species to help them survive in good conditions. With the years, some long-extincted species and well as extraterrestrial ones have been introduced and special "touristproof" zones have been created, to protect both tourists, plants and animals. According to that rule, it is now forbidden for unauthorized people to venture in those zones. The large hotels often offer guide tour of this floor, though some personal computer guides are also available for people who can't afford to hire a real guide.
Second Floor: This section is what's makes Eden a so important part of the galaxy: the space-ports. Basically, its outside wall is pierced by many doors, most of them being large enough to let pass the largest vessels of the galaxy. Going from the wall toward the middle, for about 1 kilometres, many piers with magnetic anchors are available to "park" the spaceships of the travellers. This section, like the rest of the station, is filled with air. To prevent it from escaping every time a gate is opened, a special gravitational shield as been included in each door. It is also useful to prevent unwanted people from coming inside. In case the inside space was too small, the station can also stretch some ways in the surrounding space, each being like large hollow tubes that can safely transport the travellers from their ship to the station. The large central area is like an international airport, only in a bigger version. The galaxian travelling agencies all have offices in this section, offering flights throughout the galaxy. The government of Eden also possess large offices in this part of the station, to control everything that's going on and make sure everything is safe. To help people get around with more ease, special robotic hosts are placed all around the central space.
Third Floor: This floor is similar to the first one of this tower. The only real difference is that it is a bit wilder, and with less planned attraction than the first floor. Though, some people still prefer to visit it instead of the other, because it has a more "true Earth" feel than the first floor.
Forth Tower:
The three floors of this tower are organized in the same way and will therefore be describe just once. This tower is a bit the Las Vegas of the galaxy, with its casinos, nightclubs, and various less legal attraction. For safety and ethic reason, kids under the age of 15 are not allowed in there. The first floor is mostly composed a large casinos and popular nightclubs. The second floor is for smaller casinos and less-renown pubs and bars. The third is for the rest. The streets of those floors are very narrow, except for the two large perpendicular boulevards considered as the main streets, splitting each floor in four. It is said that you can find all sort of interesting things in its darkest corners, if you are brave or stupid enough to go there.
Fifth Tower:
First Floor: This floor is used as habitation by the lower class of the station. It is full of small, dirty and overcrowded apartments placed on top of each other. Some people have even built their own shelters in the little alleys. Since this area is judged less important than the rest of the station, cleaning bots pass less often, giving this floor a special atmosphere. Note that, the northern part is the cleanest, often inhabited by lower-class family. The southern area is more known for its dangerous nightlife, with gangs roaming all around.
Second Floor:This floor is similar to the one right above it, but a bit worst. "To avoid" would be the right way to describe it.
Third Floor: This floor is extremely hot and has a restricted access policy. It is mainly maintained by robots, due to the hard environmental conditions. It is full of complex machines and various system part, including the gravitational and air-recycling systems of the station. If all the decisions concerning the station are taken on the top floor of the first tower, they are usually executed here.

| The Races:
During their space explorations, the humans have come in contact with many extraterrestrial races. Though those meeting were not always pleasant, most of the advanced races have decided to collaborate to the Galaxian Council, even if it's just a way to make sure they get more powers and wealths. This section will try to describe all the important races as well as possible and will be updated when needed. Note that, the name of the different races are the names the humans use. They mostly came from various mythological or historical figures, since the first humans who entered in contact with those races where rarely very imaginative. Most of the real names are not understandable for foreign race. All the race featured here have access to a powerful translator system, meaning they can all understand each other, though they can still talk in their own language if they don't want others to understand them. They are place in alphabetical order, except for the human who are used as a comparison base to describe the others. More races will be added as they enter the story.
Humans
Physical Description: Humans of the future are much like humans of the present. Adults are usually between 5 and 6 feet tall, though some exception have been reported. Human children are similar to their adult counterpart, but smaller. Humans have a thin skin, varying in shade from a palish blue-white to a dark black. Their eyes and hair colors also vary amongst the population. Various products and treatments are also available for people who would like to change their natural color.
Psychological Description: Compare to other races, humans are not especially strong or intelligent. Though, they are resourceful, which is probably the reason they have survive this far in history. Their general behavior varies a lot depending of the person, often making other races confused. Most of the humans found on Eden where selected because they had a higher intelligence than average and were also more open-minded than most people. Although, humans tend to change as they age too, so that might not be exact anymore.
Society: Humans live on Earth, their native land, and have colonized all of the other planets of their solar system. Their political system vary according to were they live. After the last world war, the humans have created a new United Nations council, this time with much more powers. This organization is currently ruling over most of the Earth, and a smaller version of it rules over the Moon and Mars. The colonies on the other planets, however, are often ruled by military organizations, mostly because they are based in more dangerous environment where armies are mandatory. Those organizations are still controlled by the U.N., but some rumors says that Neptune and Jupiter colonies are planning a rebellion against the Earth.
Relations: Humans are usually good diplomats, and this skill has served them well in their meeting with other races. They have a quite strong alliance with the Nagas, the first race they encountered. Their relations with the other races are usually neutral. However, it seems that some humans can be found on planets far away from the Earth, without anyone being able to explain why. Some of those populations have had troubles with other races, making those a bit more suspicious toward the human race in general.
Dwarfs
Physical Description: Dwarfs are like small human beings. They are usually between 3 and 4 feet tall. However, they can easily be distinguished from human children, since they have a rather large muscular structure. Their skin, eyes and hair are similar to humans, but all male dwarfs have a large beard, often tied in thick braids on either side of their face. Though dwarfs have access to a wide variety of clothing and accessories, they prefer dressing with simple clothes and only wear their trusty battle axe or hammer at their side. They are quite good smiths and will often have some kind of metal jewelry with them, though they will only wear it for important celebrations. Dwarfs age a little slower than humans, and can live way beyond what humans naturally could, generally reaching the 500 years mark quite easily.
Psychological Description: Dwarfs are quite strong physically, but not that much mentally. However, they have built a strong relation with the gnomes, sharing their mutual knowledge, which make them a bit less stupid than they were before. They are quick to anger and love good food and drinks, especially beer. They are deeply attached to their traditions and protocols and will happily punch anyone that doesn't respect them. Though, once you have learnt how to act with them, they can be quite good friends. They have a natural ability to build or repair anything made with metal and understand technology quite well, making them an essential part of any ship's crew.
Society: Dwarfs live in a monarchic system. However, their king will most of the time consult a council of elders before taking important decision. They usually live in rough areas, where almost no other races would want to go, which is probably one of the reasons why it took them so much time to enter in contact with the other races. Most of them are strong workers, enjoying good manual work and a good pint of beer once they are done. They usually live underground in large cities built on the side of mountains, though they have no problem with travelling outside.
Relations: Due to their rather short temper, dwarfs have a hard time keeping good relations with the other races. They have a long alliance with gnomes, and it is said that they have known elves for a while too, though they don't really get along. Dwarfs are usually cautious when meeting a new person, but they will always offer help to a stranger in need. After all, if he happens to be a bad guy afterwards, they will just have to punch him, which is quite easy to do for a dwarf.
Dragons
Physical Description: Dragons are similar to the one encountered in the ancient human tales. They are large, reptilian beast, though unlike other reptiles they are hot-blooded. They have a scaly skin, which color varies according to the breed of the dragon. They can also have wings, horns, various spikes and other appendices. They go from less then a foot when they're born to hundreds of feet long as adult. The grow up pretty slowly though, a dragon becoming an adult at about 250 years old. They can also reach ages impossible for other races, generally getting to 1000 years old without problem. Since dragon are so large, they will usually adopt a humanoid form when meeting with other races. All adults are able to change their shape pretty easily,. therefore this isn't a real problem for them. However, to let people know that they are not human, they will generally keep some of their dragon features, their wings or tail for example.
Psychological Description: The psychology of dragons is quite hard to describe. They are quite intelligent and proud creatures. They generally have or gain some magical powers as they grow up. And apart from those three things, they all vary depending of the specie of dragon they are part of and the region they come from. The dragons that have allied with the Galaxian Council are generally good ones, meaning they will not eat any other member of the council and will try to help them as much as possible. Though, then again, dragons are somewhat good at manipulating people...
Society: Dragons doesn't really live in society, They prefer to be alone, and will most often only meet during their reproduction season. However, dragons from a specific solar system have united into a form of society, getting together at first to protect themselves, but soon realizing that since they all lived in the same region they would have to cooperate. Those groups are lead enter by a monarchic system, where the strongest dragon is usually the king or queen, or by a council of elders. Dragons exist on many planets, though no one can really explain why.
Relations: Dragons are often judge by the color of their scales. That is because in a distant past, the dragon with specific color of scales were bad and the other were good. However, the dragons have mixed quite a lot since that time, and this can no longer be considered true. Some races still apply those rules and will hardly judge any dragon with non-metallic scales. The dragons are aware of this, but they don't really mind. They know they can prove the others wrong and will try their best to do so. Some dragons don't appreciate humanoid races, because they have had bad experience with similar creature, but in general they are pretty open-minded.
Elves
Physical Description: Elves are similar to humans. Their body is a little shorter and usually more slender too, and they have pointy ears. Their hair, eyes and skin colors can vary a bit more than human ones. They don't normally grow beard or body hairs. They have less physical strength than humans, but are usually way more agile and quick than them.
Psychological Description: Elves are proud and deeply attach to their traditions. They are gentle with others and appreciate them acting the same. They love arts and are quite good at it. They have a natural ability to manipulate magic energies, but are also able with precise technology works. They love to gather knowledge, though they will only share it with the people they deem worthy of it. They can be somewhat cold when they first meet someone.
Society: Elves live in a monarchic system, though their king or queen is usually open to advise from others. On their native planet, they live in harmony with their surrounding, mostly in deep forests, though they can be found almost everywhere. They give a great importance to arts and how things look, making their cities pure jewel to the sight. They all undergo a rigorous training when they are young, preparing them to be either warrior or mage. Their technology isn't as advanced as the other members of the council, but they can easily compensate it with their magic abilities.
Relations: Elves are cautious and reserved when meeting other races. They have known the dwarfs and gnomes for a long time, though their relation with them was somewhat hazardous. They have had problem with humans living in their world too, and this seems to have marked them. They get along quite well with dragons, probably because of their respective magical abilities. They will act nicely with the other races, as long as those do the same. Most of the other races think that the elves are quite interesting creature and have a lot to teach the council members.
Gnomes
Physical Description: Gnomes are similar to dwarfs, with which they share a common environment, and probably some common ancestors. They are a little shorter, most of them being between 3 and 3½ feet tall, and have a more petite stature. Their beard is also less dense than a dwarf's one. They also seem to age a little more quickly than the dwarfs, though they can easily live as long as them if not longer. They usually wear robes and strange pointy hats, and always seem to be cover in dust, probably because they spend all their time repairing and studying old things.
Psychological Description: Where dwarfs use their muscles, gnomes use their brain. Since they are not as gifted physically than their rough companions, they had to compensate by learning how to use their brain. They are quite resourceful, more than humans can be, and are always on a knowledge quest. They love to learn about everything and anything, meaning they have a great interest in meeting new races. Though somewhat shy, they are generally more friendly than the dwarfs, and therefore are commonly send by those to greet newcomers.
Society: Gnomes are ruled by what they call the Council of Light, a gathering of the most educated and usually oldest gnomes. There are ten seat at that council's table, one for a representative of each of the gnome working class. Gnomes are named at the council until they are no longer able to do their job or choose to resign. The council works like a democracy, meaning everyone has one vote and the majority wins. Dwarfs and gnomes have lived together for millenniums, sharing the same environment. However, they have still keep some separation, finally creating two distinct races. They both depends on each other, gnomes needing the dwarfs for any kind of strong physical work, and dwarfs needing the gnomes for most of their intellectual work.
Relations: Gnomes have grown to be quite good in diplomacy, maybe because they have lived with the easily irritable dwarfs for so long. They have also had relations with the elves, though those have been on and off through history, mainly because of the constant conflicts between dwarfs and elves. They are a friendly race, considering the meeting of new people like a way to get new knowledge. They also love to solve problems, making them good ambassadors in time of crisis. Other races tend to love the gnomes, mainly because they know so much things that they are almost essential for any important project.
Nagas
Physical Description: Nagas generally look like tall, well-muscled humans. Their skin is covered by thin scales, varying in color from one to another. They usually have long, thick black hair, though it is a custom among Nagas to change the color fo your hair and the way you tie them to indicate your rank in society. Their eyes are about the same size as human ones, though the iris covers all the eyes, except for their slit pupils. They show no facial or body hair, just having a thicker line of scales where their eyebrows should have been. Nagas possess a set of fangs, located on their top jaw where canines would be for humans. Those fangs are slightly longer than canines and hollow, linked to two little venom glands located right behind their eyes. Their venom is a strong neuro-toxic products which can easily kill any creature, but nagas will only use it in extremely dangerous situation. Nagas generally don't have a tail, horns or fins, but the individual who shows those features are deemed more evolved than the other and usually occupy higher ranks. They are hermaphroditic creatures, meaning each individual possess reproductive organs from both sexes. However, with the exception of their genitals, their body appears either like a male or female humanoid. Due to some DNA modifications, the Nagas cannot breed with other races by natural means. The only half-nagas reported to exist are experimentations, and most of them don't survive long enough to reach the adulthood.
Psychological Description: Nagas are intelligent, wise and resourceful. They love to share they knowledge with other races, especially if those races give them something in exchange. They are quite good negotiators too, and make great merchants. Nagas give a great value to knowledge, therefore all their kids goes through long studies to prepare them for their future. However, unlike other races, nagas don't consider sitting on a bench for hour a good way to teach kids, and their school system is more like an apprenticeship with a master than a classical training. Nagas can be rough with each other, because it is how their society works, but they will always show respect to a newcomer of another race, except if he has done something to shock them first. They also tend to not show their emotions and feelings, preferring rational decisions to emotive ones. However, they give lots of values to feelings, considering them as another way to learn about their world. It's just that they consider it like a private experience, and will only share it with close friends, or at least behind close doors. Nagas are renown for their advanced technology, as well as for their strangely sensual entertainments (sensual like in what appeals to senses in general), greatly appreciate by the other races.
Society: Nagas live in a strongly established castes system. At the top of the ladder is the king and the royal family, than the priests and scientists, the nobles, the army members, the merchants, the crafters, the farmers, the rest of the population that can't be classify and finally the outcasts. A naga's caste is determined when he reaches the age of 15 years old, where he seemingly become an adult. The young naga will pass various test to see where he fits the best and will then be place in a caste for the rest of his life. Under the age of 15, a naga is considered to be of the same class as his parents. The only exception to that is for the royal family and noblemen, where kids from those caste will stay in them even if they show no particular skills, and the outcasts, which you end up as if you defy the caste system by not following it or if you become a bandit or do any bad action. Outcast children will usually stay as outcast, except if they show exceptional skill, because no one in the naga's society really cares about the outcasts and what happen to them or their kids.
Relations: Nagas have built a strong relation with the humans, even taking part of the construction of Eden. The rest of their relations are neutral. Nagas have a simple way to deal with others: they will return any action they have been victim of with an equal strength. It means that if you hurt them, they will hurt you, and if you do something good for them, they will do something equally good for you. Though some races have tried to take advantage of that at first, they have soon learnt that it was best to just cooperate with the nagas. This principle is mostly used when dealing with important political action and less in current life, but some nagas might still use it.
Undines
Physical Description: The Undine are a race of fish-like creatures, though over time they became amphibious, as their planet, much like earth, is mostly covered in water. Many centuries ago they more resembled merfolk, having a humanoid torso but a long serpent-like tail in place of legs. Over time they evolved to grow legs and walk on the land, colonizing and living on it as well as under the water. Their skin colours come in a range of blues and greens, and although very similar to humans' in not having scales it's slightly more slick, feeling more like marble, varnished wood or smooth plastic. They have slightly larger eyes than humans with the iris and pupil being larger in comparison to the white portion also, and two sets of eyelids, the second being thin, almost transparent and closing horizontally. Their bodies are devoid of hair, and the backs of their heads are made up of tendrils, usually shaped in a short pointed fashion and held together. However they are able to separate and grow them, making them longer or shorter (though they aren't able to move them any more than just separating them). Despite what one might think having never seen an Undine, they do in fact have ears. It is behind them and along their necks that they have gills - the placement, number and size varying from person to person - which are closable to stop any damage coming to them when out of the water. They have retractable webs between their fingers and toes, and fins along the sides of their lower legs and arms which they are able to flatten and raise. All signs of their incredible ability to adapt.
Psychological Description: Undine are naturally kind, generous and warmhearted creatures. Again, of course, this differs from person to person, but on the whole unless they have a bad experience they're a very helpful race. If you're in need of help and see an Undine it's probably your best chance of getting some. Because of this though, less kind people take advantage of their generosity, but on the whole Undine don't seem to mind; they're fair from stupid and realize that most often they will be asked for help just because of their race or even used and abused because of this. The fact that they are so very kind and happy to assist makes it so that this doesn't matter to them, as long as they are able to aid the people in need. Because of their charitable nature they are more than willing to share their information on everything, from technology to health care, from food to warfare (something they are obviously unkeen on, but every race needs a to defend themselves). They are also very polite and well-mannered, though unlike other races they never appear cold or distant as they strongly value emotions and see them as an essential and beautiful part of life which should be shared with others. They are always very open, understanding and respectful of others' beliefs, ways of life and feelings, too. The Undine as a whole are very happy and pleasant, and would have to undergo something very traumatic and terrible to act any other way. However one shouldn't mistake an quiet or shy Undine for being one of these, as they, like anyone else, just need time to get to know people. They have the ability to harness the power of water and control it, along with having telekinesis and telepathy. Back when they lived only in the water telepathy was how they communicated with one another, and the telekinesis made it easier to move things. When they first began living on the land they dehydrated easily, needing to drink or at least be near water quite often; they managed to outgrow this need, and now an Undine can live a perfectly healthy life never coming in contact with water other than to drink, however due to their heritage they're not perfectly happy to do this and long to be able to swim as is in their blood.
Society:The undines live in a Monarchic system, the King and Queen being descended from the strongest Undine, who were the tribe leaders back in ancient times. There are different class levels, however they are not strict, and which group you were born into does not dictate where you will be all your life; they are similar to upper, middle and lower classes, and mostly depend on money, status and of course abilities, much like human.
Relations: The Undine were one of the later races to join the Galaxian Council due to living under the depths of their worlds great body of water for so long; when they were first discovered on the land they were not immediately deemed advanced enough to join due to still evolving to live there, however once they overcame the physical challenges their great knowledge and mental capacity became very clear. They were extremely eager to join the council when the time came, wanting to help others as much as possible.

| The Characters:
This section will be reserved for characters' descriptions. The characters will be placed according to the moment where they entered the story and not in order of importance. To prevent confusion between important characters and not-so-important ones, a little mention called "Rank" is added under each character's name. A rank simply shows what the character's role is, and it is divided in four main categories: main, second, occasional and NPC. "Main" is for the characters around which the story will be built. They should be included in what you are writing, unless you have a really good reason for not doing so. "Second" is for useful characters that will be used often in the story, but that are not at the center of it. "Occasional" is for characters that will be there for a scene and then disappear for some time, though they can come back at any time if needed. "NPC" is for environmental characters. Though this isn't a role-play, so there isn't technically any player and non-player characters, NPCs are there to make the thing seem more realistic, while not really being part of it. For example, if your character takes the bus where there are other people seating around, those people can be considered as NPCs. They don't do anything and are just described to provide a more realistic feeling, like you would describe the plants in a garden to make it look real. Except for the large group of people, NPCs won't be described here. The rest of the description is pretty common and doesn't really require any explanation.
If you introduce a new character to the story in your part or change something to an already-existing character, please PM me a description of him or a description of the changes done. Don't include it in your post, as I find this messy and cluttering. Try to describe your character as much as possible, because other writers will need to know him as much as possible to be able to use them. If you need examples on how to describe your character, just look at the others already described in this section.
Name: Marilyn Hodges
Rank: -
Race: Human
Sex: Female
Age: 25
Occupation: Secretary for the Galaxian Council
Description: Marilyn is a 5' 6" human female with short, wavy blond hair going down just under her jaw and brown eyes. Her skin is of a pale beige shade and she has some light freckles on her cheeks. She wears the uniform of the Galaxian Council workers, a pair of straight black pants or a mid-leg black skirt with a white shirt featuring the logo of the council on her left upper arm, with white stockings and a pair of shiny black leather shoes. She doesn't wear much accessories, only a pair of small earrings and her usual rounded glasses. She can often be seen carrying her laptop computer or a pile of books and papers to prepare the next meeting of the G.C.
Marilyn is a hardworking, but sometimes a bit too perfectionist, girl. She takes her work very seriously and spend most of her time working for the council, making sure everything is ok. She is normally quite serious and polite, though she's still friendly. She's more of an intellectual, introverted, logical kind of person.
Biography: Marilyn has always lived on Eden, her parents working for an important transportation company based on the station. She started working at the age of 16 as a secretary for the same company her parents worked for, while pursuing her studies in History at a local college. She got a new job at the said college at the age of 18, as the assistant of a teacher, but soon make her way up as her boss become in charge of the Galaxian Archives and decided to take her with him because of her good work. When she heard that the G.C. was looking for employees, she knew it was her chance to be part of something historical and immediately sent her resume. After a couple of tests and interviews, she finally got a call from the G.C. authorities saying she had been hired as a secretary. She would be in charge of writing down whatever happened during the council's meetings, as well as provide any help needed by the Councillors.
Name: Carson Buford "The Bull" Morris
Rank: -
Race: Human, Cyborg
Sex: Male
Age: 29
Occupation: Hunter
Description: Carson nickname is "The Bull", and it suits him quite well. Carson is a 6 feet and a half man, with strongly-shaped muscles. An incident when he was younger caused him to have is right arm and his left leg replaced by mechanical prosthesis. Though some people choose to have their artificial limb cover with an artificial skin to make it more seamless with the rest of their body, Carson is quite proud of his prosthesis and prefers to wear them with their natural steel covering. The rest of this body is covered by a leathery bronze skin. He has dark-brown eyes and black curly hair, though he normally wears those cut close to his skull, except for a little line close to his neck which is kept longer and braided in tiny little braids, going down to the middle of his back. Carson normally wears a long coat made of red leather, with the right sleeve torn to show his metallic arm, and a pair of black jeans with thick black boots. Under that, he wears a bulletproof shirt, which looks like a normal black t-shirt. He keeps a large blade on his back, which he used to fight.
Carson is a pretty straight man. He usually acts before he thinks, and even if he takes the time to think, it doesn't have much better results. Some people say that it is because he had taken too many hits to the head, but the truth is Carson just prefers action to useless talking and chatting. He is emotive, but that mostly means he is quick to anger. He will never show if he is afraid or sad, or will more likely turn those into anger and let them explode everywhere. However, Carson enjoys a good beer taken with friends in the depth of Eden, which is also one of the ways he gathers useful information. He doesn't really like, or thrust, the people from a higher class than his, coming from the poorest and roughest neighbourhood of the station. He is a good fighter, which is probably the only reason why he has survived up until now, though is lack of thinking could cause him some problems some day. His main motivation are money and fame, and everything else is pretty much useless in his mind.
Biography: Carson grew up in the depth of Eden, lost on the last flour of the fifth. He never met his father, and frankly he doesn't care much about him. His mother was working for a large casino and tried her hardest to make him have a good life, but that also meant she had to work long hours and wasn't very present for her son. Carson learnt to survive in a hostile environment, fighting his way through everything. His mom didn't came home one night when he was 14 and he never saw her again. He never wondered much about that: she was probably gone with some rich man to live a better life, and that was fine with him. By that time, Carson was already the leader of a respected gang and the other members were his only family, or the only one he cared about. Not long after his mom's disappearance, he met a strange man. Well, he tried to rob the man, like he had done so many time with travellers, but that man happened to be a hunter, the person hired by the authorities of Eden to control the security in the lower floors. It was the first fight Carson lost, and the only one to this day. He lose an arm and a leg during the fight, but fortunately for him, the hunter brought him to a local doctor who healed him, before he offered Carson to teach him the way of the hunter. Carson took a week to answer, feeling humiliated by his defeat, but he finally accept the offer. The man brought him to a mechanics and got him two artificial limbs and an old-fashion sword. Carson followed his new master, quiting his life of thievery and crimes. His master died in a fight when Carson was 20. The young man immediately started to hunt the mutant and killed him, which gave him a lot of fame among the hunters. Soon, he started to get more contracts, becoming one of the best hunters in the station. He has lived this kind of life for 9 years now, and he is quite happy with it.
Name: Julius Kim
Rank: -
Race: Half-Human / Half-Elf
Sex: Male
Age: 45
Occupation: Hunter
Description: Julius is a typical half-elf, about 5 feet and a half, slender, with a pale beige-white skin, long silky hair and pointy ears, slightly less pointy than for pure-blooded elves. Except from his elvish features, he looks like a twenty-something years old human. His hair are black, keep into a long ponytail going to his waist with a couple locks falling in his face, and his eyes are bright green and slightly almond-shaped. He wears a red leather coat similar to the one of Carson Morris, though his isn't torn and his usually cleaner than his human buddy's. He also wears the same black jeans, black boots and black bulletproof t-shirt. He also has a pair of black silk gloves with the fingers cut on the index and ring fingers on the right hand and all fingers cut on the left hand. He wears three silver earrings on the top of his left ear, and a 3-inches long red pendant earring on the right. He also loves to have some necklaces on, though he still keep it pretty simple in general.
Julius is an intelligent gentleman, at least in appearance. He always knows exactly what to say or what to do and is quite good to enter in relation with others. He is, in fact, a bit manipulative and his nice manners are just one more way to get what he wants. However, most people will never realize he isn't sincere, which is a good point for him. He however respects most people, unless they have done something to deserve being treated otherwise, but for some reason he considers that he is helping them by screwing them and that, like that, they will one day learn something. His main motivations are money and fame, which is probably the reason why he gets along so well with Carson. Julius has inherited some magical abilities from his elven ancestors, which he usually uses to fight or to help Carson.
Biography: Born in a time where relations between humans and elves were tense, Julius was almost immediately abandoned by his mother. He grew up in an orphanage on another station, but was sent to Eden with other kids in hope that they would found some work in this new station. Julius didn't like to work however, and he used his natural charm to make his way through the station. He started playing poker in the casino at the age of 20, soon making a lot of money and winning many tournaments. However, after five years, a jealous player made a plot to exclude Julius from the poker world, accusing him of cheating. It wasn't completely false, as it was a common thing for high-level players to cheat, and Julius was chased from the casinos. His name was written on the blacklist, meaning he could never played again. Julius soon finished spending the little money he had left and was forced to live in the lower floors. Fighting to survive, he soon discovered that he had some magical abilities, being able to heal more quickly than most people, and having some control over fire. He soon learnt to control those powers, even if he didn't knew much about them. One day, when he was 30 years old, testing his abilities in a dark alley, he found himself surrounded by creepy creatures he didn't know about. Fortunately for him, a hunter arrived and destroyed the creatures, rescuing the young half-elf. The man offered him to become his apprentice, which Julius accepted quickly, knowing that the man was way stronger than him and that he could be useful. Not long after, the man took another apprentice, a young man with big muscles and not much head. They trained together for a couple years before their master died. After that, Julius went on to pursue his own journey, wanting to discover more about his magical abilities. He offered the other apprentice, Carson, to come with him, but the young man refused, having his own plans. It's been nine years since they have parted, and Julius is back on Eden after a long trip to one of the Elvish colony.
Name: Golzagorsota Cha'usil a.k.a Golza
Rank: -
Race: Naga
Sex: Hermaphrodite
Age: 28
Occupation: Political Adviser for the Galaxian Council
Description: Golza is a Naga who appears to be female, even if Nagas are hermaphroditic creatures. She measures 5 feet and 8 inches and, like most Nagas, she looks like a quite nice human female, except from her scaly skin. She has long, thick wavy hair the color of a fine dark chocolate going down to her waist, which she usually keep braided and knotted in a complicated way only Nagas could do. Her skin is covered by thin, silky-smooth scales ranging in color from a pale greenish white for the most part of her body to a darker forest green color on the shoulders, elbows, ears and knees. Golza doesn't have a tail, but she possesses a set of expansible membranes on each side of her neck, almost like a cobra. However, those membranes are usually partially covered by her hair and she rarely show them. Golza loves to wear silk clothes, usually a long, colorful skirt with a stretch top made of one piece of fabric rolled over her body like the Nagas used to do. She wears many pairs of earrings, a long pendant necklace and a couple rings on each hands.
Like most Nagas presents on Eden, and all of those occupying important jobs, Golza has been chosen to be there. She is the archetype of the Naga, always polite and nice, knowing how to react to any situation. She is quite intelligent, though she doesn't act as if she was superior to others in any way. She is friendly with everyone, but will only be really open with people she has learnt to know. She takes her job very seriously, but still love to have time to relax and discover new things. She is quite curious and love learning about new cultures.
Biography: Golza comes from a family of priests, which is highly respected amongst Nagas. She was supposed to take on the family job when she became an adult, but when she heard about Eden, she immediately asked if she could go study there instead of staying on her native planet. It was allowed to her, as she was one of the best students and most promising young Naga. She started studying Politics in a good college on Eden at the age of 16, enjoying the new surrounding and people a lot. She got her first real job at the Naga Embassy at the age of 25, as an adviser for Naga travellers and people wanting to visit the Nagas homeland. She was recently hired by the G.C. to help the new employees to understand the different cultures, so that the Ambassadors and their crew would all be welcome correctly when they arrive and get everything they need during their stay on Eden.
Name: Harthanat Cha'usil a.k.a Harth
Rank: -
Race: Naga
Sex: Hermaphrodite
Age: 16
Occupation: Student
Description: Harth is a young male-looking Naga. Even if he's not completely grown up yet, he still measures close to 6 feet and shows a decent muscular body for his young age. His dark-brown hair are usually cut short and combed in large spikes, giving him his distinct hedgehog look. His skin is covered by thin scales varying in shades from a light green over most of his body to a dark forest green on his shoulders, elbows, knees and ears. Like his sister Golza, he shows a set of expansible membranes on the side of his neck, which make him look almost like a cobra when stretched. He doesn't really control them yet, and they will often extend when he feels a powerful emotion. Harth loves to wear a pair of leather sandals with a large cotton pants and some traditional Naga necklaces and bracelets. If it was just his choice, he wouldn't wear anything else. He can however also be seen wearing the uniform of his college, even if he doesn't like it much finding the clothes a bit too tight for his taste. In general, he loves everything flashy and colorful.
Harthanat is a young and curious Naga. He loves discovering new things and when his attention gets fixed on something, he will most likely forget everything else. This nasty habit has caused him troubles in the past, but Harth doesn't seem to change. Even if he isn't human, Harth enjoys almost everything a human teenager would: having fun with friends, partying, etc. He doesn't take his study seriously, but he is reasonably intelligent, which is the only reason why he was allowed to entered one of the most prestigious college of Eden. Harth can be a little stubborn at time, though he will always listen to his sister Golza.
Biography: Harth is Golza's brother. However, due to their age difference, she more like a second mom to him than a sister. When they were young, Golza was usually the one taking care of him, their parents being busy at the temple. Harth was a little mad when she left her home to go study on Eden, but she promised him that he could come live with her when he was 15. It was more like a way to calm him than a real promise, but Harth took it seriously and worked hard all those years to get a chance to go to Eden. When he reached the age of 15, his notes were sufficient and he was admitted in one of the best college on Eden. He moved in with his sister, but since she is quite busy al the time, he lived mostly alone. Like most newcomers to Eden, Harth had to do a year of preparation before he could really start school, learning more about the station and the other inhabitants. At 16, he finally entered the "real" college, discovering a lot of new things and new people. He had managed to keep decent notes, even if he prefers to spend his time with his new friends.
