"Uh, I don't really know," Lei said, which was an answer for everything Melody had said about blind spot, others escaping and Illya running away. She paused for a second, trying to place her ideas before she spoke again. "I think she wanted to show me the strange building thing I saw, 'cause when we got there, she stopped and let me caught up with her. At first I thought she had just saw some birds or squirrels and tried to catch them, but since she didn't want to stop until we reached the building, there's more chance it was the 'thing' that was attracting her. Maybe she smelt or heard something coming from there?" she said, looking at the toy bear twisting in her arms. She let her go to the ground, hoping it would make something to explain herself, but the plush only walked to the base of Lynx's bed and sat down, looking at the feline girl. Apparently, she wasn't going to do anything to help, so lei just went on with her ideas.

"I think... maybe it has something to do with the weather? Maybe the fog and rain and cold messed up with the cameras? I mean, I guess they would have something planned out in case that happen... but maybe there's a little blank space where I was, or maybe they were just busy with something else. I was only caught when I got out of the wood, and the guard looked a bit surprised, like if she didn't knew there was someone in the wood... So maybe they just didn't see me..." She was also confused by what had happened and couldn't really explain it. She had thought someone would have came and took her back to the school, or at least that she would have gotten some kind of punishment.

Lynx had been staring into space apparently, and snapped to when the stuffed bear Illya crawled onto her bed. She watched the bear a moment, pulling her only belonging, a stuff cat, out from under her pillow. She sat the cat next to the little bear and stared at them for a moment before lifting her head and looking to Lei.

"A weak spot. A way to escape. Yes, we'll do that. Tomorrow morning...early, before I am forced to go in for medications. When the fog is thick and covers the ground. We go then. Can you remember where the building is, Lei? Can you show me?" Lynx's focus was fully on the younger girl, her ears perked.

"Uh," Lei said, trying to remember the location of the building. "I'm not sure..." At that moment, Illya let go a little roar, apparently meaning that she could find it once again if needed. "Oh, right, Illya can probably find it!" Lei said joyfully. She was glad to see that the others were believing her. The escape, though, was somewhat mixed in her mind. There was a chance it would work, but maybe the school would have fixed the problem by now and they would only get caught... but it was also the only way they had to know what the building was, and maybe get some clues about what had happened to the others. Yes, it was probably the best things to do.

A clock rang somewhere in the dorm area, pulling Lei out of her thoughts. "Oh, right, maybe we should go to class now?" she said, wondering what she could use as excuse for being late.

Lynx looked up at the sound of the clock and her ears flicked back. She had not been allowed to go to public classes for a while now, though often she snuck in and hid in the back just to watch the other children. She was, after all, a danger to anyone around her. Lynx tried to stand up, but found herself too weak to do so and her ears flicked back. "I need to stay here and rest...by noon I should be doing better. Maybe we can meet for lunch outside?" The feline girl looked to Lei and Melody hopefully.

Melody listened carefully to Lei as she spoke, thinking about the cameras. It was a very wet and foggy morning, and that would most likely mess with the camera system, and even if not it would make it hard to see what was going on. She couldn't believe there was a building hidden all the way out there. Whatever the reason for it she had a feeling it was fairly sinister, why else would it be in the middle of nowhere and so far from the school grounds? She was a little surprised at how quickly Lynx suggested they go and find the building again, though if they were going to go off and find it sooner would be better than later, especially if the weather played a part in allowing them to "escape". She seemed very determined also, but considering what Lynx was put through in this place constantly, it wasn't all that surprising after all. "If there's trouble with the weather I could always use my powers to do...something to interfere with the cameras or...well, just something, I suppose," Melody offered, hoping to be of some help.

Before they could really continue their discussion any further a bell rang out from down the hall, signalling the start of the first class. She nodded to Lynx when she proposed meeting for lunch outside as she needed to rest until then, "Sounds like a plan," she said cheerfully. "Try and get some rest, Lynx. I hope you feel better later." She gave a smile before heading out with Lei and Illya.

They headed for the school building and parted ways as they got inside, Melody heading off in the general direction she assumed she was meant to be going in. She pulled out her floor-plan of the school that she'd folded and placed in her jacket pocket; it wasn't a big place as there were nowhere near as many students as most schools, so it wasn't too hard to find the right place. Her first class was English. "At least it's nothing too strenuous then," she thought to herself, glad to be able to ease into things slowly.

Upon entering the classroom she found she wasn't all that late after all, and was quite thankful that a seat in the back row was still empty for her to claim. As she sat down she returned her floor-plan back to her pocket and looked around. There were a couple of girls she recognised from the dormitories who were obviously around the same age as her, but she didn't try to make conversation, preferring to keep to herself, particularly now she knew something she wouldn't want others to learn of; for all she knew some of them had telepathy and that would end in a lot of trouble.
She sighed as the teacher called for everyone's attention and looked to the clock on the wall at the front of the class, longing for it to be lunchtime already.

Lei made a small "Yes" sign with the head to answer Lynx's proposition. Having lunch with other people could be nice, after all. At the same time, she wondered where the others where. Su'ish, Kos, Alice... She had not seen any of them this morning, which was somewhat normal since she had been away for some time, but she was a bit worried that something could have happen to them. She exited Lynx's room with Melody and follow her to the school building, leaving her as they entered to go to her first class.

Gah! Maths! I hate those! Lei thought as she followed the usual hall down to her classroom, entering the room full of young kids. Apparently, the course had not started yet, so Lei let go a sigh before she sat in her usual spot beside the windows. There was a good group of kids about her age, probably because the experimentation had been more successful in the last couple of year, meaning more kids were surviving and ending up at the special school. There were about 25 children between the age of 12 and 14 years olds, the most important group in the school. Though, as the experiment showed positive results for mutations, it also seemed to affect the kid's mental abilities a bit more. Therefore, most of them were acting like they were younger than their real age and Lei didn't really appreciated their company.

Only a minute after she had reached the classroom, the teacher arrived. It was a young man, probably around 25 years old. Short hair, normal clothes and attitude... The teacher himself didn't bother Lei, but she had just always hated maths, so she turned her head toward the window and watched the outside as the teacher started his course. Only three more hour before lunch, she thought, hoping the time would pass quickly.

After her two friends left, Lynx scowled angrily at her stuffed cat toy. "Shut up..." she muttered, shaking her head a little. No, she had to hang onto her sanity. The medications didn't always work, but for once she actually wanted this one to. She wanted to hang onto her sensibility. It was important that she did. Settling her head onto her pillow once again, she closed her eyes and let sleep take her.

Her dreams were wild, like they usually were. She would see fire, flames leaping up. Someone was shouting for her, screaming her name. But it wasn't the name she carried now. It sounded different, like an actual name, but Lynx couldn't really understand what it was. The harder she strained to hear what name was being cried, the more indistinct it got. Yet she knew, deep in her soul, that the name being yelled was her own.

Jerking away, Lynx's red-gold eyes glanced towards the barred window, realizing it was lunch time. Rolling out of bed, she changed into a gym outfit, and padded down the hall and down the stairs, making her way towards the courtyard. Her stomach growled and she switched directions abruptly to head to the cafeteria to get something to eat. The cooks knew her, as everyone seemed to, and she got a "special" lunch due to her "special" needs. This meant a mostly raw steak and other meats, with a little rice. Lynx didn't complain as she took the tray and headed back outside towards the courtyard.

Sitting beneath a large tree, she began to eat quickly, waiting for Lei and Melody. She didn't want them to see her eat her raw meats. Most of the other students thought it was disgusting and she had been called an animal more than once. But the doctors insisted she eat this stuff, and she found it tasty enough. Maybe I am just a stupid animal, she thought to herself between bites. That's why I can't ever remember my name. She sighed and finished her food as quickly as possible, not wanting her new friends to start calling her names as well. Wiping the blood from her chin, she set her tray aside and leaned back against the tree trunk, her eyes scanning the crowd of students, searching for Lei and Melody.

Sari made her way into the cafeteria, passing up the line in favor of just grabbing an apple and a bottle of water. She took these outside, making some shade follow her to the far end of the designated eating area. She pulled out some treats for Nova as well as a rather thick book from her messenger bag, which she propped open in her lap. Her reading was interrupted by nervous giggling, and Sari looked up to find three of school's younger girls gathered in a tight group and looking at her hopefully. The shortest of the group, a blonde, tugged on one of her pigtails and took a small step forward.

"We.. we heard you did really cool shadow puppets... d'you think we could, um, maybe see some?" Sari chuckled. "Sure thing, kiddo. So, what'll it be? Dancing elephants, bunnies...?" A second girl piped up, her excitement overshadowing her fear of the strange older girl. "A pony! Er, please?" Sari turned to face the wall she'd been leaning against, happy that her seemingly useless "talent" could at least be entertaining. A dark patch formed on the ground, spreading onto the wall into a life-sized horse's shadow that reared onto it's back legs and trotted back and forth. This was followed by a kitten chasing a mouse around, done mostly to mess with Nova, who responded by flicking a bit of cereal at her. The girls cooed and clapped as Sari finished up the "show"; a ballroom-dancing couple twirled about to unheard music before bowing and fading away. "Thanks, Miss!" The girls ran back to their group of friends, twittering excitedly amongst themselves.

~Admit it, Miss Antisocial... you actually enjoyed that.~ Sari playfully nudged him, opening her book back up. Hush, you. I didn't want to make them, y'know, cry or anything. Look at that girl hanging out with kids that're ten years younger than she is--yeah, that's not weird at all.

As the course finished, Lei quickly gathered her stuff and ran to the cafeteria to grab something to eat. She didn't want to make Melody or Lynx wait for her. Happily for her, the cafeteria was not too full when she arrived, and the line of people waiting to grab their meal was relatively short. It took her only a few minute before she could ran back outside, wondering if one of the other girls was already there. Turning her head around, she noticed Lynx sitting under a large old tree. She ran up to the feline girl, stopping beside her and sitting down. "Hi again Lynx! Sorry if I made you wait," she said, noticing the other had already finished her plate. She looked around, noticing that Melody was not there yet. Then I'm probably not so late, she thought, hoping Melody had not forgotten their little meeting, or found something better to do. Lei placed her platter in front of her and Illya by her side, which chose just that moment to take life again. It seemed that food had a powerful effect on the small toy bear.

Lynx's ears flicked as she heard some giggling and carrying on, her red-gold eyes looking towards the sound. She watched from a distance as the older girl made shadows for the younger crowd, only vaguely interested. Her attention shifted when she saw Lei running towards her and she sat up, wiping her mouth once again to make sure there was no blood anywhere. She smiled at Lei, her eyes shining with a clearness that often wasn't there. "You didn't miss anything. I haven't seen Melody yet though...how was class?" She asked absently. Odd, Lynx having a normal conversation. She stretched put under the shade of the tree, leaning against the tree's trunk as she looked to Lei with a smile.

"Not so bad. I just don't really like maths, but I guess it's better than having those weird examination thing all the time and being caught in the labs all day," Lei said with a smile. Yes, class was definitely better than having the doctor watch you do crazy stuff. Lei looked in the direction Lynx was lokoing at, wondering wht the younger girls where doing since she had missed the part with the shadow puppets. She took a piece of bread and split it in two, leaving one of the half to Illya while she bit the other. "I hope Melody's gonna arrive soon. And how was morning for you?" she had, hoping Lynx was feeling better than when she had left her. At least, it seemed like she could stand up and talk, which was already a good thing.

Description: Rebecca Shelly [known in the RP as "Tammy Ulysses"] is a 15 year old with bright emerald green eyes. She has long, red hair that she keeps tied up with twigs and strings that she uses while manipulating her clod of clay. Her most notable feature, besides having twigs in her hair, is the birthmark beneath her left eye. She is freckled and a bit pale from the extended time she spent hidden away in the laboratories. She was once told that her ears were "larger than life", but doesn't feel insecure about them.
She owns the school's designated uniform, but is often seen in her yellow sun dress instead. She always wears a thin, gold chain around her neck that her late brother stole for her before they were taken to the labs.
Despite losing her brother, she is often happy due to her extreme denial. As long as no one pries too deeply into her past, she is a loving and compassionate kid. However, she can at times be overprotective of Tamarin, much to his disdain.
Biography: Rebecca Shelly and her brother Timothy Shelly were taken by the scientists quite some time ago, when she was 11 and her brother was 5. After she and her brother managed to survive the first year of experimentation, she suffered a tragedy when her then 6 year old brother Timmy became seriously ill, his body rejecting the powers he had been given. It was a terribly painful death - one that she tried to prevent with her powers; but try and try as she might, she could only heal herself and keep herself alive while watching her brother suffer. After he died, she went into a deep reclusion, not talking to anyone or anything for three years as the scientists continued their experimentation. This all changed the day Tamarin arrived at the labs, shocked and frightened. At first glance, Rebecca was reminded of the brother she no longer had and quickly decided to take care of him, attempting to keep him just as secluded as she was out of guilt and anxiety. To her, the young boy was a perfect replacement for her younger brother and, appropriately, she began to call him "Timmy" rather than Tamarin in honor of her brother. They have been almost inseparable since they first met, often at each others side; aided by the fact that neither of them actually know any of the other residents. With Tamarin by her side, Rebecca became peaceful and happy, certain that her baby brother had never left her in the first place. To keep herself separated from her haunting memories, she even adopted Tamarin's last name, Ulysses, and now claims her first name is "Tammy" - a play on Tamarin's actual name.
When the school opened a while ago, she and Tamarin had both been transfered over. The scientists claimed it was "for their own good"; and although she was not inclined to believe them she did, going without a fight. "Tammy" is just now settling in at the school, exploring the foreign campus that is now her home and the people within it.
Other: She refuses to acknowledge her past, and hates to be referred to as Rebecca. She claims she is Tamarin's older sister, and takes the role seriously. Rebecca arrived at the labs five years ago with her younger brother who died at the lab a year later. One year ago, three years after her brother died, Tamarin and her met.

Description: Tamarin is a simple 9 year old boy, affectionately nicknamed "Timmy" by Rebecca Shelly. He likes to play games, and is most comfortable around Rebecca since they've spent the most time together. He is soft spoken and tries to be understanding, but isn't really skilled with reading other people.
Tamarin has control over the element of ice and, consequently, his skin feels icy cold. He usually tries to avoid having things touch him directly, due to his heightened sense of touch. He has light brown chocolate eyes and a dusting of freckles over his nose and right eyebrow. His hair is a short and somewhat jagged red, brighter than Rebecca's. He likes to keep his hair short and often cuts it himself with scissors he steals from the doctors. He wears a blue and orange bandanna around his neck and a long sleeved black sweater. He never wears the school's designated uniform unless he is forced to, since he prefers to keep covered as much as possible. And he is rarely seen without his favorite blue gloves - a relic from his orphanage.
Biography: He arrived at the labs one year ago from an orphanage further north, immediately meeting Rebecca and becoming as enamored with her as she was with him. They've been together ever since.
His past to him is shady and unremarkable at best. He remembers coming from an orphanage and knows that the school is much better than where he came from, but doesn't worry about his past. He does not miss it. In fact, he is more eager about exploring the school and meeting the other students than Rebecca is.
Other: He sees Rebecca as a very close friend and protector and sometimes forgets to call her "Tammy" when distracted. Unlike Rebecca, he'll respond if addressed as "Tamarin". Presently, his birthday is quickly approaching. He'll be turning 10 years old.

Class couldn't end quickly enough for Melody. It wasn't what she was used to. She'd been taught in a class alongside other children a few times in the past, but as a whole she'd done work my herself in her room most of her life. She wasn't sure she liked being in a busy, noisy classroom full of chatting and giggling. It was weird how normal most of the kids acted. Maybe they just wanted to be so badly that they put on an act. Or maybe they were normal, at least more so than she felt. It wasn't that she hadn't paid attention in the lessons on how to act out in the real world, she'd just not been interested in acting that way unless she absolutely had to. But then again she'd always been sort of a loner. She'd never really had any proper friends, preferring to spend time by herself listening to music, or reading, or just wasting time doing nothing. Perhaps these kids had just taken to being sociable a lot better than she had.

When the bell finally rang for lunch she was one of the first out of the classroom, but she soon fell behind in the crowd due to now knowing which direction the cafeteria was in. This time she didn't consult her map, but rather just followed the mass of students on their way to lunch, knowing they'd take her there. She eventually ended up at what felt like the end of the queue for food and cursed herself for not checking where the cafeteria was before class was over. It was going to take her a while now and she wasn't even that hungry. Her stomach was still confused from jet lag and swirling nauseatingly from nerves, but skipping lunch would only make it worse; even if she only ate a little it might help her internal clock to adjust to mealtimes much quicker.

After what seemed like forever she was able to get a tray of food and head outside, looking around for Lei and Lynx. She spotted them fairly quickly, sitting under a tree, and headed over, taking a seat beside them. "Hey," she said, smiling, "sorry I took so long, I ended up pretty far back in the line... How're you feeling, Lynx? You look a lot better; did you manage to get some sleep?" She rested her tray on her lap and took a small bite from some bread.

Lynx glanced towards Melody as she rapidly approached, her long tail giving a slow flick as she nodded. "I feel better. Rested now, and sane, for the time being." The older girl gave a slight grin at her own sad joke. "And you're not very late. I just ate fast and Lei just got here too. We haven't started discussing anything yet." Lynx smiled gently, glancing towards the girl who made shadow puppets for a second more, then turning her focus back to her friends. She was pondering how to bring this all up and what exactly they should do. It was all very complicated business.

Melody smiled upon hearing Lynx was feeling better, and pushed the thought that running away or "escaping" this place might mean a little trouble for her sanity from her mind. Though the drugs didn't always work very well, mostly due to experimentations through adding different things or switching them around she assumed, Lynx did seem to have some problems that certain parts of her drugs helped calm down.

"Ah, good," she smiled, taking a sip from her drink to help get the food down. She wondered how the subject of their plans for escaping and seeing the building Lei and Illya had found would be brought up, and decided she might as well start things off in a straight forward manner. She didn't want them to run out of time for their discussion, the sooner everything was ready the better, especially because of the weather conditions being a requirement for success. "So," she started, "I don't know exactly how we're going to go about this, but I can shapeshift into anything, not just people. So if we need a distraction or something, well, basically if we need anything - physical of course - that we don't have, I can become it. I've not really tried anything as strange as actually becoming mist or fog before, but if I put my mind to it I suppose anything's possible really..."
