So for some of us summer is pools, sun and fun. Then for others it is night spent in basements tuned to the weather channel wondering if our homes will be squashing witches any time soon.

Right now for me it is keeping one eye on the large storms via online Doppler and the other sitting ready with my camera to catch pretty cloud formations >>; least till the sun goes down after that it is not so fun as thunder just sounds so much more threatening in the dark...
Oddly too despite my fear of them Tornadoes are one of my biggest interests. I adore watching the storm stories on them and Storm Chasers has long been a favorite series of mine.

So Midorea what is your take on the summer storm season? Do you hide in your basement or out dancing in the storm?
O Do you not have to worry as you live out side of the "Tornado Ally" or out of the US in general....if so what kind of storms/ bad weather do you all get?

I live in Kentucky, so we get storms but it's not really anything I have to worry about.

However, I love storms! Happy Since my window is so big I'll usually sit in it and watch the storm. A friend of mine goes up to this hill at a park near here to watch storms, but sadly my mom never lets me go with them.

The fear of thunderstorms is a really interesting one to me. Because it's so opposite from my excitement about them, I just love writing about a character of mine that has a fear of storms.

I live in Chicago so i have never had to really worry if my home was going to be destroyed by a storm. The worts thing i have ever been in was a tornado but that was not that bad and it was in another state. I feel sorry for te people who have to worry about such things. Around here the worst we get is a bad thunder storm. Some trees mat fall daown but its rare a few cars might have brance fall on them but that about it. I hope the storm passes for you soon so you can enjoy your summer~

Houston over here! Happy

If I was from Galveston, I'd be a lot more worried. But I don't know. I just don't really notice. Occasionally, a really bad storm will make me stay indoors where I try to console my dog while playing scrabble by candlelight [since the power usually goes out pretty easily D::]

But storms have never been a big problem for me. Now HAIL. I hate hail. D<

Here biggest storms just tear out a few trees and that's it... I personally love to watch the lightning~
The storms don't frighten me, just that these very rare power outages scare me. Strange that I still have a fear of the dark... but lightning makes it bright... even if it's for a split second~

I live in Florida so the worst storms are the ones that get born in Africa and attack us and every one around us. giant vortexes of doom!

There are a lot of thunder storms in summer here, it gets pretty boring very fast ever day around 5pm sometimes earlier it starts to storm, sometimes we don't even get any rain just lightning hopping around clouds and smiting things. or people dumb enough to dance outside in the said storm... :/

I sit inside unless I'm at school and running though the gray haze wishing my school had the foresight to make over hangs leading to the parking garages.

Flooding, I'm no too worried after all my parents were smart enough not to buy reclaimed land (swamp/flood plains that were 'made' better and slapped houses on top).

Summer here means both sun and storms. Like Urboros I'm also in Florida. Summer is when there are hurricanes and even when there aren't hurricanes there is rain nearly everyday in the summer, usually in the afternoon. It's been raining here since last month now. But at least there are some days it doesn't rain and it doesn't always rain the whole day either. Also, tornadoes scare me. They seem worse than hurricanes to me for some reason. Sometimes we get them along with the hurricanes which really sucks. We get more hurricanes than tornadoes though I think.

Well, We get a few down here in the south of England...

But one we had a few years ago that had thunder, lightning but no rain, just like how the aliens in the latest War of the Worlds film (i didn't like it much, I also didn't like the latest day of the Triffids film...) Landed! Scary!

Heh we have had a few more big nasties go over us. Most of the time is has been hail and high winds that are the problem. However my family had a Tornado go right over the house recently @.@

I live in Wisconsin we don't get much tornadoes here. We do once in a while. There are bad thunderstorms here alot in summer as well as heat waves. I love storms I like to dance in the rain and watch the lightning. When/if a tornado comes I'll go into the basement only because my hudant will make me go lol. I love watching clouds.

I live in California. We don't get tornadoes, we get earthquakes. You get used to them though. The only time they ever worried me was a few years ago when my home and my school were both directly on top of the Hayward fault line, because it's overdue a *really* big one, and the longer it waits the bigger it's gonna be. Some people think that by the time it finally comes around part of California will actually break off of the mainland. Usually though you just ignore them. A painted plate will fall off the wall or something in the shower will get knocked over and you think, "Oh, must have been another earthquake" and you get on with your life. It's kinda funny 'cause you get tourists or visitors sometimes who get ridiculously freaked out even by the little earthquakes.

We in Massachusetts have had a lot of rain and storms this summer. Right now there is a thunderstorm. There have been some nice days, but few.

I live in Wisconsin (UGH. so uneventful...) and we dont tend to get tornadoes where I am but on occasion the sirens will go off and Ill have to sprint to our CREEEEEPY basement and huddle in one of the damp corners. The reason I say our basement is creepy is because 1)its over 200 years old and 2)someone hung himself in one of the numerous back rooms. Fun stuff. Anyway, we usually only get regular old thunder, rain, and lightning kinda storms of which I adore watching from my second story bedroom's window. Big Grin

Odd I get the earthquake thing XP I lived in Japan for a bit and after the first few it was just part of life.

newdivision- Ick, I would go crazy 2 days of rain is about all I can take...I like my sunshine.

censored Shocked that wouldn't be fun at all....I dislike our basement now cause of the spiders and musty smell that would be doubly worse...

Florida has been epic fail with these storms, we have maybe one day a week of no showers, but no sun in sight. e_e Just massive clouds.

And my internet being governed by the clouds = even more epic fail. yay for satellite internet. >/
