Mutation(s): Major - Shapeshifting: can change shape to almost anything.
Minor - Transmutation: has the ability to change only one thing into something else, or change its size. She's able to change anything into anything else/change the size but can only change one thing and keep it in that state at a time (meaning if she changed one object and wanted to change another she'd have to allow the first item to revert to its original state); the bigger the object the more concentration it requires, the harder it is to change it and the shorter the time span she can hold it like that. (Hope this is okay, if not let me know and I can change it. c:)

Description: Melody stands at 5'8" leading most people to believe she's a year or two older than she actually is. Like most girls she's fairly delicate looking, but she also looks as though she's a little underweight as well, this put together with her fairly pale complexion would make most people think she was ill. She has big, bright blue eyes with long eyelashes and sleek, straight hair that ends just past her rear and appears to be a very dark shade of blue; she usually has it tied up in some complex fashion. Of course it's hard to know what about her appearance is in fact natural due to her being a shapeshifter, it could be that she chooses to look like this just because she likes it; only those studying her abilities know for sure, and as long as it has no scientific importance they're not going to care or even speak about it, and though the psychiatrist might ask her about it nobody's going to hear from them due to doctor-patient confidentiality.

Biography: Melody's life would have been extremely different if it hadn't been for one crucial event. With two devoted and loving parents, both healthy physically and mentally and with a higher than average income her life would have probably been a happier one than most children, if not for an accident that took their lives one day when she was still a baby; it was the first and only time they reluctantly left her in daycare, having decided before she'd been born that her mother would stay home with her to raise her rather than dump her off with a nanny and continue to work.
There was some emergency that called them off and they ended up in a catastrophically big pile up with over a hundred other vehicles on the highway. When she was adopted all of her parents money was also taken and put towards the project. Even now she dislikes travelling in cars, trucks, anything on the road, and will often get motion sickness or have to close her eyes, listen to music and pretend she's not in a car...a boat, plane, anything that isn't on the road.

Other: She likes to dress in a very toned down gothic lolita style; that is, she doesn't clothe herself in huge frilly dresses as that would be too over the top, unless it's a special occasion, but rather just prefers to dress in girly but dark things. She loves delicate little accents like ribbons, lace and the likes, along with jewelry, and even when in her school uniform wears lots of little accessories such as any combination of the aforementioned jewelry, gloves, tights, belts and hair decorations, along with nail polish and dark makeup.
She loves to doodle and spends a lot of time listening to music.

((Yay! One more player! About your powers, I have no real problem with them, as long as you don't abuse them. I mean, shapeshifting is supposed to take some time to completely change your appearance, and energy too, so nothing like "I changed into a bird than changed into a bear in five seconds." And transmutation... just don't abuse it, ok? Everything else seems ok for me. And now I'll go on and post something...))

Lei woke up early in her dorms. She shared the room with three girls, a bit older than her. She didn't know them much, having only met them during some classes before, but they looked ok. Lei had not gotten much sleep during the night. For some reason, she had made multiple nightmares. It was probably due to the stress of yesterday, but she didn't like it anyway. Maybe I should go talk to a doctor about this? she thought, quickly realizing that the only thing they would do would be to study her to see what was wrong with her, and she wasn't in a mood to be studied right now.

Lei got up, making sure not to make any sound. She quickly put on some sweatpants and shirt, tied her shoes, grabbed Illya and exited the room. It was only around 5:30AM, so the hallway were still quiet, everyone firmly sleeping in their rooms. Lei followed the hall to the nearby staircase, going down to the main entrance and exiting the building. The sun was just a light orange line at the horizon, and the air was full of humidity, creating a light fog around the school. Lei walked down the paved path, holing Illya against her chest. She had always loved this kind of weather, calm and peaceful, like if time had stopped. She sat on a bench, trying to just forget everything that had happened. Maybe it was because of her bad night, but she suddenly felt like this school had something wrong going on. She had never mind being used as a test subject. In fact, she kinda liked it, because for a long time, it was the only way she got attention from other human beings. But now, she felt like maybe her life should be something else. Maybe this wasn't the right place for her.

She stood there, watching the fog dropping tiny water droplets on the grass and flowers around, making them shine in the early sunshine, lost in her thoughts.

Lei wasn't the only one out so early. In fact, Lynx was just about to return to the dorms. She had been awake all night, and her eyes glinted in the early sunlight, making them glow, as she approached the dorms. Pausing at the sight of Lei standing there, Lynx's tail gave a flick as her ears twitched. "What is Lei doing here?" Lynx questioned as she approached, dropping into her animal-like crouch as she got close enough. A reddish liquid tinted her dark skin.

The beast girl studied the smaller child, frowning. Mr. X, Y, and Z had managed to catch her the day before and she had been forced to take a new kind of medication to "help" her condition. Instead, it had just kept her awake all night long and increased her hunting instinct. Now she was exhausted, but she had spent the entire night hunting small mice and night birds. And she was covered in blood.

Lei looked around, enjoying the peaceful morning scene, when she noticed someone was watching her. It took her a couple of seconds to recognize Lynx, covered with blood. Lei stared at her, not sure of what to do. Her first thought was that Lynx might have been hurt, and for some reason, a part of her thought it could be because of the doctors. She shook her head, before making a small wave sign toward Lynx. "Hey, Lynx! What happen to you? Are you ok?" was the only think she could say, looking a bit nervous.

"Eh..." Lynx looked down at herself, her ears flattening a little. "Oh. Hunting. I was just hunting..." She seemed disturbed at herself, frowning as she stood up straight, her tail giving a flick. "Doctor gave me a new drug. Made me want to hunt.." Lynx frowned deeply. "I guess I need to take a shower..." Rubbing the back of her head, the older girl looked down to Lei to see her reaction. She was feeling more human tonight, despite the hunting she had just finished, and found herself worried that Lei would be upset by the sight. "But...uh, why are you out here so early?" she asked.

{{Don't worry, I'm a very well-behaved RPer, you can always trust me to be realistic and not overly powered. I love a character with some flaws and try to balance things out. After all, flaws are what make us human and so very interesting! C:
I would've left this at her meeting Lei and Lynx but I thought it was better to get a whole sort of intro and settling scene done, and for her to remain sort of essentially unknown until later so the two girls could be like "wtf?" x3}}

"Melody," came the voice of the driver, her handler, "Melody, we're here. Wake up." She opened her eyes as she sat up slowly, rubbing them. "What time is it?"
"It's about," he glanced at his watch, "5:35...AM, by the way. Heh. Looks like we got here pretty early. Not much traffic around at this time."
Melody yawned and gradually got out of the back of the car as her handler opened the trunk up and took her bags out. Was it really so early? She'd lost track of time with the flight and switching time zones. They'd told her to sleep in the previous day as they'd be leaving in the evening and arriving in the morning. She'd managed to get a decent amount of sleep, even napping in the plane, but had clearly gotten tired on the car ride and dropped off. She was somewhat glad of this as she didn't like traveling in cars.
"Come on," he ushered her, "if we hurry and check in you might be able to get another nap in before school starts, since you're so tired." He lifted the heavier of her bags up, she grabbed a hold of the smaller one left behind and followed after him.
As they approached the school Melody noticed two figures through the fog. When they got closer she was able to see one was a younger girl sitting on a bench, and the other was a strange cat-like being, complete with ears, tail and even the leg anatomy of a feline. Obviously her handler had seen them too as he'd stopped. "Hello girls. What are you doing up so early?" Before they had a real chance to answer he'd already begun talking again, "I don't suppose you can direct us to the reception area can you?"
This time before they could answer they were interrupted by a different voice ringing through the cold morning air. "Ah, hello!" Melody turned to see a middle-aged woman with glasses and dark hair tied back in a bun coming towards them. She must've been expecting an early arrival. "You must be Mr. Smith and Melody, yes?"
"Oh, yes, and you must be the Headmistress, Ms. G-3. A pleasure to meet you." He placed Melody's bags down and the two shook hands. The woman turned to the girls then. "Oh girls, you really shouldn't be out this early, especially with such a chill in the air. If you insist on being up at least get inside in the warm. I suppose you've already met your new classmate here?" She gestured to Melody who lifted a hand and waved ever so slightly. "Hello."
"Well, let's get you all sorted out then shall we?" And before anyone could say anything else Melody was whisked away inside, looking back over her shoulder to the other girls, unsure of whether she'd rather be with them than the adults or not.

After a few minutes of the basics being checked over she was shown to her room, where Mr. Smith placed her bags down. It was a fairly small room, but there was probably enough space for another to join her at some point, though there was only her one bed at the moment. She turned to her handler and he offered her a smile. "Well, I guess this is it. I know we've not known each other all that long, but... oh, I'm just getting overly sentimental. I'll just be off to have a chat with some of the other staff and fill them in about you, then I'll be heading off, all right?"
"Sure," she said softly. "Goodbye Mr. Smith." She gave an awkward smile; she truly hadn't known him that long, and in the past two months he'd "taken care" of her, they'd barely been in contact. He gave another smile and turned to leave, the Headmistress also giving her a little grin. "You get some rest then. I'll come and get you a little while before school starts so you can meet some of the staff and prepare for class." And with that she was gone too.

Melody looked around her room. She walked over to her new bed and sat down on it, placing her two smaller bags beside her. She wasn't sure whether she wanted to be alone or just go and meet the other doctors or whoever and get it out of the way. Her eyes felt strained. She lay down on the bed and closed them, deciding to follow G-3's advice and get some sleep, and soon enough she'd drifted back into slumber.

((Oh, sorry, I'm too lazy to switch account, so Kuma will answer for me. Perfect! I just wanted to make sure you understand the setting of this role-play, meaning we are not superheroes with awesomely huge powers. I started role-playing on Gaia, with lots of noobs and such, so I always try to clear things out as much as possible before we start.))

"I... uhm..." Before Lei had a chance to answer something, a strange man and a girl walked up to them, asking for directions. And before she had a chance to add something, the Principal appeared and took the new faces away. Lei looked at them while they were still in her sight. It seemed like the fog was getting thicker as the time passed, and the sky was getting cloudy. She turned back at Lynx. "Strange people. I wonder if she's a new 'student'..." On the last word, her voice kinda fell, like if she wasn't sure if it was the right word to use. She shook her head and quickly added: "Glad you're ok! I just couldn't sleep this morning. Nothing important, really. Uh, maybe we should get inside?" As she said that, small raindrops started falling, nothing impossible to endure, but still enough to be uncomfortable.

Lynx supressed a snarl as the "principle" came along, but her expression showed nothing but hatred towards the woman. Watching the new girl walk off with the adults, she frowned deeply, turning back to Lei as it began to rain. "Yeah...I guess we should get inside..." But she hesitated, staying out in the downpour long enough to get most of the blood washed off of her...and to get soaking wet.

Stepping back into the doors, she shivered violently and sneezed a couple of times. "This place...I hate this place, Lei...some of the students seem to have disappeared. I mean...I don't know where the Su'Ish went. They took him a few days ago...and now he's gone..." She scowled, then glanced back to Lei, her ears folded back. She was only a child...could she possibly understand? "I'm older now. Too old for this place. I have a bad feeling. I hear Dr. Reeves and Dr. Jones talk. They talk about sending me somewhere else. I don't know where..." She sneezed a few more times, pulling at one of her long ears.

Lei quickly got back inside, but she was still somewhat wet. When Lynx said that to her, she felt relief, knowing that some older kid was thinking the same thing as her. Maybe Lynx was a strange one, but Lei felt like she could rust her more than most people around the school. "Now that you say it, I've seen some people disappear too. A few girls living around my room are not there anymore. The doctors have changed and the experiments they do seem to get tougher on everyone. I don't know what happen to all of them, or what we could do to change that, for that matters," she said. Though she felt a deep bond with the labs and the scientific team, it was mostly because she only knew them in the world. Up to now, she had always felt secure with them, but during the last few days, it seemed like some things had changed in the management of the school. Something unpleasant and disturbing, and Lei wanted to get as far as possible from that. Unfortunately, she was but a kid, so her thought process was somewhat limited when it came to planning things.

Lynx gazed down at the child, smiling a bit. "I'm worried about Ronin...I think he might be gone too. I just saw him yesterday...but...I just have this feeling..." Looking at the puddle she was making on the floor, she sighed. "I need to go take a shower and change into a new uniform..." Showering privledges. She hated the showers. She always felt exposed. Her tail gave a flick as she headed towards the locker rooms, her ears low. "What did they do to you last time, Lei?" She asked as they walked. "They are being mean, aren't they?"

"Well, technically, they don't hurt me or anything. They just show me horrible stuff and watch how I react. At first, it was just some war movies, nothing really worst than what we see on T.V, but it's gone more violent and all recently," she said, following Lynx. She had sort of a hard time explaining concretely what they were doing to her. Sometimes what they were showing her wasn't that bad, but some things make her have strong emotional reactions and she didn't like that. "I wish it would stop some time, but I think they will want to see me again today. And you're right, I haven't seen Kos since yesterday. I hope he's ok, and Su'ish too."

Lynx entered the locker rooms, flicking on the lights as she moved to find her locker where a clean uniform and PE uniform was located, as well as some towels. She was still feeling very human, and was a little disturbed by it. She hadn't felt this way in a very long time. Her ears flicked as she listened to what Lei was saying, nodding a bit. "I...I don't remember how it started with me. I don't remember much anymore...just maybe a year or so back. Memories...don't stay with me very long..."

Lynx turned to look at the younger girl, taking a seat on a bench, her tail flicking. "But I think they start off doing easy things. Nice things even. And then it gets worse. It's very bad for me...see, look..." Lynx extended her arm and with her other hand, using her claws, cut open her flesh, drawing a line up her arm. She didn't even react to the cut, and almost instantly the wound began to heal itself up, leaving only drying blood where it used to be. "I heal. I heal and I feel no pain. They use that. They...study it. They cut me open..." The older girl trailed off, glancing away with a frown. She shouldn't be confiding in this younger child...but Lynx was alone: everyone she got close to seemed to disappear...and everyone needed someone.

Alice had been hiding in a quiet building all night, refusing to go where she couldn't rest. She had fallen asleep in the locker room, her head on her sweater.
She was woken up by two familiar thought strains invading her quiet sleep.

She looked around for where they were.
"Good morning Lei, Lynx." She said with a yawn, sitting near them. "What time is it?"

"And, uh, about the disspearing kids...Even the people who run this place can't hide their thoughts from me....They are being sent to war, or sold to other countries...or experimented on for medical reasons....Thats what most think, anyways....And they've started having me spy on people, look into their minds. Crazy people, horrible people...people not fit to live, yet they do...the experiments are tourture for a reason...

Lei looked at Lynx arm healing up, looking a bit disgusted, surprised and curious at the same time. She didn't really know what to say and that was exactly the time where Alice started to talk. She listened to her, and the more she heard, the more she felt like something was really going wrong in the school. "Maybe... maybe we should try to run away?" she said with a small voice. She knew it was probably a stupid idea, but it was the only thing her child mind could think of: when something was wrong, go away. She looked at the two older girls, hoping they would say something.

Lei placed Illya on the bench and grabbed a towel from her locker, drying her hair while waiting for the other to answer.

Lynx's tail gave a flick as she listened to the mind-reader explain. It made sense, she supposed. Maybe that was why her doctor's were working so hard on finding a cure for her schizophrenia: after all, you can't send a crazy girl to go off and fight. She might hurt someone or worse. Frowning gently, she glanced to Lei at her suggestion. "I don't know...Shu'ish and I were running in the forest and they dragged us back pretty effectively. Now the bear is gone. No, something so bold might not work..."

Standing and pacing a few steps, the feline girl seemed at a loss. What could be done? The adults were everywhere, and they had far more firepower than they did...or did they really? Moving past the others, Lynx slipped into the showers with her PE clothes and a towel in tow. She needed to think.
