| I really don't consider myself anything at the moment, but I'm very into connecting with the earth. I'm into divination and am almost scary good with tarot. My cards are of the cat people. I feel connected with cats and wolves. I am sensitive to the world and to the spirits. I am still exploring myself as I have cut off a part of myself at very early age due to fear. (a long story) I have a great gift of understanding and patience. I only consider myself a kind of "christian" because I agree with being christ-like. You know love they enemy as thine self. I believe that Jesus was a spiritual teacher. So I guess I'm called "Christian Other".
Living as a part of the earth instead of just using the earth is the best way to live (in my opinion).
Does anyone have their spiritual guide?

| I dunno, when it comes to Paganism, I'm pretty bitter.
You know those people that learn about Wicca at 13 and proceed to become a horrible, uninformed, fluffybunny practitioner? that's essentially what happened to me, and because of all of my run ins with equally ignorant people and my own bad experiences, I never really recovered.
To the point where, to this day (and I'm 18 now), I don't have a religion.
Just about everything in me cringes at it. Every time someone mentions a ritual, or magic, or a circle, I feel so skeptical and hateful about it. "Oh, I feel so AT ONE with the earth! Oh, I'm really CONNECTED to cats/wolves/ravens/foxes/tiger/anything someone finds 'cool'." I feel angry because i feel like the other person is ignorant, and maybe because I'm bitter I don't feel anything.
I don't think I'd EVER be Wiccan again, but a part of me does miss being Pagan and just feeling a little bit of wonder at all the little things.

Had to quote your WHOLE post, because... damn. I can understand, though. It's the sort of thing I hate too... I don't talk to those people :| This is one of the reasons I am NOT a Wiccan... I just cannoooot stand the association. Ugh ugh ugh. And I cringe at the "zomg animal spirit!" thing too, because you just KNOW they picked something that sounded neat. I spent YEARS before I knew anything like that. :| The magic, ritual, etc also... well, you can just tell they have NO idea what they're talking about. o_o;
I am so sorry you had to have this kind of experience. New age trendiness is the poison of Paganism, and does NOT help it grow, that is for sure. Please don't associate us with those people. In any case, I do sincerely hope you come back to us someday, but on the right path.

| It erks me when people are just claiming BS too.
I want to clarify that I am not spilling BS, and I know what I am connected to. I have had all of my guidance from a genuine ordained pagan preistess. I also have other friends that ARE pagan.
Although it is hard to believe people these days about anything, it bothers me that other people just blow people off because they've closed their mind and hearts to listen to anything other than what they've seen in a negative way.
Everyone is different in how they find their own path. I hope that one day the ignorant people will learn and the hardened people will come to know peace.

| @Kaishi: Thanks, it's comforting to find someone that actually BELIEVES and knows what their talking about and isn't just spouting crap. :3
I have a couple of friends that are fiances, and one of them is a Wiccan (turned her on to it when we were 13) and the other is a Pagan. And when i say pagan, he really is like that. He loves nature, he isn't in it for the spells, he's informed, he's willing to politely discuss his beliefs.
My Wiccan friend however... isn't so much. And it bothers me, but, whatever.
Um, but yeah. Thinking about all the Pagan things and I guess animal spirits and things, but I think if I ever went back to it I'd want my patron god/goddess to be from the Greek pantheon. Ever since I was a little kid ,I'd loved Greek lore and especially Athena and Artemis. I love that they're strong and proud.
And if it came to animals, I think mine would be the spider because I am dead afraid of them. Terrified. But at the same time, I have a weird attraction to them... and my horrible insect empathy powers.
Because no matter where I am, insects WILL find me.

| I'm of the Opinion Everyone has a Right to believe in whatever they want!
But if people aren't interested in your faith, asides casual curiosity, and don't want to convert then Shut up! And if you don't tell me what you beleive without me paing out the backside then I have every Right to list you as a threat!
Paganism does need a fresh look, there's so much christian bullcrappery in the public Eye about Paganism, Wicca and so on...
I knew a Pagan at College (UK Version of High School) and she was quite nice. most pagans are nice tolerating people. Granted they are a bit more Liberal about sex, but that's their faith... But I know there are a number of idiots within Paganism...
Some want to scare "Mommy and Daddy" some want to get laid more often, and some are... Well... reflecting the crap Christians have thrown on them!

| And a spirit guide doesn't have to be an animal. It can be just a guiding spirit as the title suggests. The Greek Pantheon is very interesting as well as the Celtic Gods. I have a friend who is very much akin to the Norse Gods, and yet another with the Gods of Chaos (he's a bit on the creepy side). His wife however is a sister to my soul and she has yet to inform me of her pantheon. From what she tells me she doesn't stick to just one which is odd to me, but I'm not of the experience to say otherwise.
Spiders are creepy and yet beautiful somehow. Most spider species females are the ultimate mothers giving their own life for the lives of their offspring. It would be an honor to have a spider choose to guide you.
I believe skepticsm can be a great teacher encouraging us to look further and study what we don't know enough of and should be respected just like everything else.
I like learning everything I can. ^_^
Is there a particular book or author I can find to help with finding the path I should be on?

| I have that encyclopedia of spells book! 8D
I don't have a favorite author, but I do have authors that I stay away from, like Silver Raven Wolf. I mean her name should tell you enough.
Dorothy Morrison and Sean Cunningham I like a lot.(Ihope I got their names right, most of my pagan books are packed xD)
I haven't been able to practice actively since I moved to california, mainly because I literally have no space to do anything. I try to at least make a special meal on the holidays, and I meditate almost every night before falling asleep. :3
Is midsummer tomorrow yes?

| sweet - I don't stick to one pantheon either, lol. It's... liberating, I guess. I couldn't really suggest a book... :< I fail.
lolol that encyclopedia of spells book... I've looked at it. I don't own it, but I think you should write your own spells sooo.... I guess that explains that XD
Midsummer tomorrowww... I dunno. I'm going to work :| why the heck did I agree to do that? I don't know. Father's day and Midsummer and I agreed to cover for someone, lolol. FAIL. I will probably just wear appropriate colors and go out to the park or something, since I do get off at 6:30. Hrrnnn =A= now I wish I could back out of it but I do need the money... *sob* Maybe I'll bake some cookies and bring them to work.... Midsummer cookies? LoL. My planner gives me good recipes for holidays, maybe I should look.

I actually got the encyclopdeia from my great grandma in England. She saw me looking at it, because I was like wtf why does nan tilly have this, and gave it to me.
I work tomorrow too, and it's my favorite coworker's birthday so we're going out after work. I'll figure something out before work, I don't know what yet though. x3x
