"No, we had not met...but I had seen you many times in court, and though I was not able to speak with you...Still...I wanted to be your wife."

((Dude. Such random romantic stuff keeps pouring out of my keyboard. ajhdfa;osdf))

(Yeah, don't worry. For this time, though, it's not really that unusual, because he is a successful knight and women at this time generally just got married and had kids.)

Raki finally overcame his surprise, and felt his heart soften. He kissed Sorcha's forehead softly. 'Then I will do as you wish,' he said, 'and we will marry.'

She smiled.

"Then I will be yours, Sir Raki."

((Yeah, it's just unusual for me. Actually, that may have been the first time I've typed anything like that at all. aha....btw, sorry this post is so fail. I couldn't think of anything else...))

(No, I wouldn't've been able to do anything, either...Sometimes things just turn out short, y'know?)

Raki smiled down at her. 'I'll have a servant escort you to your chambers,' he said. 'I will send a letter to a friend of mine in the clergy to arrange a wedding date. And I shall need to send one to your parents to gain their permission.'

Sorcha couldn't help herself, she grinned.

"That would be wonderful! But, as for my parents, you needn't worry about their approval, both are dead long since."

Raki bowed his head. 'My condolences,' he said. A servant girl appeared at the door.

'Take her to the guest room, girl,' he said. 'One of the better ones.' The girl curtsied, and took Sorcha's elbow. 'This way, milady,' she said.

She gave a small curtsy and began to follow the servant girl.

"Oh, and Lord Raki..." she paused "Have a good night." With that and another small smile, she followed the servant away, and the door clicked shut behind her.

(I don't think we have to go through all of the intervening days...it'll take too long. On to the day of the wedding!)

Raki woke up on the wedding day, and when he realised what day it was, felt a mix of emotions. He was nervous, but that was to be expected; he was happy, because Sorcha was really a nice girl; and he was excited. As he got up and dressed, he found himself looking foreword to seeing Sorcha in her wedding dress that afternoon.

((Sorry, I really had no idea what to write! But I agree. Let's skip to the good parts!))

Sorcha sat in front of a mirror, for once allowing the serving maids to take care of her. They gossiped happily among themselves while they did her her hair, her dress, her jewelry. They were fixing her up. Fixing her up for her wedding day.

Sorcha was so happy, so excited, so nervous, that she didn't protest as they ushered her from one station to the next.

She waited eagerly for the bell to toll her wedding hour.

(It's okay, I'm just happy someone posted. Today and yesterday are going so slow!)

Raki took a deep breath as the bell finally rang. He walked to his spot and stood there, nervous but not showing it. He waited for Sorcha to appear.

(Yeah they were. I was just like aaaaaah what do I say!!!? ahaha...)

Sorcha stood just behind the door, waiting for her cue. As she listened, the crowd whispered behind their hands, and finally, the first note of the music hung in the air. The woman to her immediate left went first.

The flower girl. Sorcha smiled.

(I've been stuck like that so many times...but I started off roleplaying over IM so I always put something down)

Raki looked at the faces coming by. The flower girl...he wondered who the child was, then realised he was just looking for something to take his mind off of things. He looked back at the door, waiting for Sorcha.

(Yeah...XD)

Finally, her cue.

Sorcha stepped through the door, and raised her eyes to look at Raki, already at the end of the isle. he looked so handsome, in his dress wear.

She walked slowly, not wanting to, but not looking forward to ruining such a beautiful dress either.

Finally, she reached the end, and looked up at her soon-to-be husband with a smile.

Raki smiled back nervously, hardly hearing the minister talking. One phrase eventually penetrated his mind:

"Do you, Sir Raki, take Maid Sorcha to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

He swallowed. 'I do,' he said.

Sorcha listened with happiness as Raki said those two magic words.

And when the time came, she said them too, looking into his eyes.

"I do."
