Price Guide in the Market place

It should be updated. Even if you don't want to list event items for fear of inflation/deflation/too rapidly changing, at least have items from past events listed such as the baby bunny.
<.< Though I would suggest having it updated for the current items as all current listings are significantly higher than the reported transaction I made on two of the potions.

The price guide was Ari's project. Since she's apparently quit the site it's just faded into oblivion.

Cat's way to busy to run it, so it'd fall to one of the three Moderator's. One of them would have to take it over, but they are all pretty busy as-is.

My personal suggestion would be to simply allow user-run guides. It'd be so much easier, plus you'd have multiple references for prices instead of one. :D

Actually, all of the mods and I update it regularly. ^_^ I'll go add the new items real quick though!

LOL UR FACE and Hiroku were the main ones to run the guide, because I already run other various things around the forums; four by my count, plus MAD. I don't have the time to, simply enough.

(Also, the prices are so inflated because everyone is buying and not selling, and the people who ARE selling are under the impression that since the price guide has the appearance of not being updated recently that surely the prices must be much higher.

Only you can fight inflation. Refuse to buy at high prices!)

What do you mean, Chi? If you mean making prices outside of the price guide, then yes. They're just probably not going to get definite sales if they don't.

To answer the question properly, no. There is already one updated by the staff, and having another would merely be redundant.

I'll go add it then.

In order for this guide to work, users must record their sales. We cannot go through each thread and add all sales to the price guide.

Do you see? It's a lot of work no matter how you look at it. As long as those of you that want to use the price guide record your sales, and any that you run across, then it really shouldn't be a problem. Our economy lies in the hands of everyone on Midorea - not one particular person or group of people can run the entire price guide. If users made price guides, there isn't the same consistancy as in the official one, because staff members update that together, whereas merely one user would update theirs. It's not organized enough and having a single user control such a thing leaves it empty whenever they cannot get online.

Users patrol every thread in the marketplace, so if there is a sale, there would be no need for anyone to report it because they would already know about it. But of you guys, we have to tell you what was sold, and for how much.
