O.O You sound like me. What is your major to make you read these things?

I'm a graphic design major, with a fondness for upper level political science/history classes.

I haven't declared a major yet, but I'm considering a few different things... chiefly Printmaking. I really want to self-design a major in Book Arts, which would combine Printmaking, GD, and Illustration. (Thinking With Type is for my Intro to Graphic Design class.)

Sweet! I love print making! For my advanced class, I made a book. <.< It turned out OK... I think I've decided I'm not a proper book artist. Though for the final in graphic design, we have to make a book art.

Cool! I'm sure your book turned out just fine. ^^

I'm currently..

Re-reading the Pendragon Series (The Merchant of Death)
Reading the first book in the Legend of Drizzt
Reading the second book from The Bartimaeus Trilogy (The Golem's Eye)

I think that's it. I'm also reading Macbeth, but that's for school :3

I love the Bartemeus Trilogy! I'm on the second book too, but its about 4 hours away from me, and I don't really have time for literature for fun at the moment. -.-;

We just got another book in English and I simply can't wait to read it when I get off. (He assigned it for homework.) It's The Oedipus Plays of Sophocles; I've already heard good things of it but what does everyone else think?

Chu: I've heard of it, but never read it :S

Shugga: I've read two of those. One I liked, the other I didn't.
I'm in the middle of a million books. But its more that I start reading it and then life takes me to a different place and I leave the book where it was until I come back.

Kethien: Never heard of her. :S

I'm reading the Glass Castle right now. It's pretty interesting.

The book that I just read for my Intro to Islam class on the other hand >.> was not interesting(probably partly because I put it off and had to read the whole thing in one day).

@Sycho: It's pretty good. ^^ I've realized that I'm more into Greek plays than I thought.

@Kethien: Oh yeah, really messed up. xP I'm reading with my English class so I can't move on, but we're starting the fourth episode on Monday.

@Juniper: I read that. I don't remember it well though considering that was back in... middle school at some point. D:

Maybe I should pick it up again...

Yeah, I definitely recommend it. It can be sad at parts, but not all of it's sad. The weird thing is, I don't understand how it can be a nonfiction book because of all these blatant metaphors that happen throughout. For example, the dad keeps talking about building the glass castle(which symbolizes his promises). So when the kids dig a hole for the foundation, they end up having to fill it with trash. I wonder if these kind of metaphors happen all the time in real life and I just don't think about them, or if it was embellished a bit.
