| ((No prob ^^))
Lei was running in the hallway, Illya running by her side on her four plushie's paws, rushing to get in time to the lab so maybe then she could come out quickly and return to play with her friends before they have something else to do. Older kids always had too much things to do to play with her. That's why she always kept Illya with her, so she always had someone to talk to and play with. She stopped in front of one of the many doors, breaking so fast that she almost fell on her side. Illya, who didn't have as much luck, ended up her run by hitting a nearby garbage can. Plushie paws were no good for sharp turn and stop.
"Oh, Illya!" Lei said, half-amused, half-worried by her little friend. She picked up the teddy bear, replacing her fur with her hand. The bear apparently sighed, before it fell back into Lei's hands, suddenly inactive. Lei had the habit of cutting their bond before she entered the lab, just in case the doctor would take too much interest in Illya and take her away. Lei stepped back in front of the door, replaced her clothes with her the side of her hand quickly, and knocked, awaiting for the doctors to answer before coming in.

| Lynx received no response from the other girl with the strange looking creature. What was that thing? A slinky with eyes? Lynx's clawed tail gave a few flicks and she made a decision. Looking back to Su'Ish, she grinned a little. "You'd better start running!" She growled as she dropped into her crouch and prepared herself to chase. If the other girl was not going to respond, she would do the typical cat thing and ignore her for the time being.

| ((Awkward silences >.<))
Koma lurched away from her and started running. As he ran, he fell onto all fours and phased into his bear form. Trying to think on his toes, Koma made a mad dash for a nearby forest, his tongue lolling outside his mouth as he ran.
This is fun. I should do this more often.

| Lynx took off after him, but her grin wasn't as wide as before. The silent, staring girl was bothering her. She didn't like to be stared at and watched.
As Su'Ish went for the forest, she slowed down just a little. Was the forest off-limits to students? She wanted to say yes, but she couldn't honestly remember. Shrugging, she dug her claws in and picked up speed, slowly gaining on the bear.

| Limits shmimits, you are a bear you have no limits. Instinct stated flatly in Koma's head.
Koma swerved and dodged aroudn trees, usually crashing into them and sending the smaller ones toppling over and the larger ones quivering, dropping branches and leaves in thick curtains.
As Koma ran, he was watched by a bird that stood too stiff in its tree, the lense on its eye focusing on him.
"He's in the forest again." A white-coated scientist observed from a surveillance screen.
His companion rolled her eyes. "He knows he's not supposed to be there... those trees are expensive..."
"Oh, come now, can't he have a little fun before his check-up?"
The other raised an expensively maintained eyebrow,
"That's right, he's old enough for physical examination now... how very interesting..."
"Now we can start to put togethor all of his major symptoms... his eistrophobia, uncontrollable urges when exposed to moonlight, his bi-polar disorder, the voices in his head..."
"You mean the ones that we can't trace?"
The scientist laughed, "Well, he claims they are there, so we have to keep them in account. Then there are some of the other things... like how he doesn't shred his clothes when he transforms. All our other shapeshifters either shred or lose their clothes in transformation, but that kish of his "grows" with him, and he can get as large as a school bus. And that's another thing..."
"How he changes depending on mood and exposure to moonlight? I've seen it vary from as small as a bear cub to as large as a portable unit... and that mask... thing... on his face..." She gave a shudder at the thought.
"Almost kinda ghoulish, huh?"
They were referring to Koma's larger transformations, and how the area above his snout distorted like a gargoyle whenever he got that large. Anything larger than normal size, Koma had difficulty keeping control over himself and losing it within his Instinct.
"Well, your time's up, kid, come on in." The male scientist pushed a button on the console with all the monitors on it.
The stiff bird opened its mouth, and a sound escaped so shrill and high pitched that it didn't even rustle the leaves on the trees. When it hit Koma, however, he knew it was there.
He immediately crashed face-first into the ground, rolling and trying to get the sound ripping at his skull away from him. He roared in pain and turned toward the school.
Get it off! Get it away! Make it stop...

| ((Oh, mean scientists! Hurting poor little Koma! Well, maybe not so little... anyway...))
The door opened before Lei had a chance to do anything. A woman was standing in front of her, her long white lab coat open, simple jeans and shirt under it, her long blond hair tied into her usual ponytail and her deep green eyes looking at her above a pair of square glasses. "Ah, Lei, you're late you know!" she said with a smile, not really mad at her, or at least not showing it. It was always a bad idea to show what you really think when you were talking to a kid with weird mutant powers. "Come in, we will start now," she said, making a sign with her hand to show a strange seat in the back of the room, her voice becoming serious again.
Lei entered the room, holding Illya tightly close to her heart. SHe was nervous, like always in the presence of doctors, though she didn't show it much usually. As she got older, the test were getting harder and "weirder", so to speak. She couldn't really understand what they were looking for and it made her nervous. She sat on the seat, feeling the cold leathery surface under her clothes. "Today, we will just check if your power have grew since last time," the female doctor said, while she got closer to Lei and put some electrodes on her forehead. They were alone in the blank room, her and the doctor. Strange, usually there's two of them, at least, Lei thought as she shivered, feeling the cold jelly-ish electrodes on her skin. "Can you give me Illya?" the doctor said, trying to be as friendly as possible. "I'll give her back to you after, but you don,t need her for the experiment." The doctor showed her hand, waiting for Lei to give her the bear.
Lei nervously looked at the doctor, then at Illya. She had never left her bear to someone else. Never. But she didn't have much choice, did she. With a sad sigh, she handed the bear to the doctor, which took it and placed it on a little table, not too far from Lei. "Now, I want you to watch the screen in front of you, and concentrate on it. I'll give you instruction as we go along." The doctor calmly sat on a metal bench on the side and pressed some buttons on the computer keyboard. The small screen in front of Lei lit up while the room lights close, leaving them in a black space. Here we go again, Lei thought as pictures of war and other barbaric things showed up on the screen. It was a normal test, showing traumatic pictures to kids and seeing how they reacted. Normal, but not pleasant...

| Lynx skidded to a stop, managing to stop right before she hit Koma. Her ears flew backwards as she stared at her friend, writhing before her. She stared at him, her eyes wide, and then her ears twitched. She had keen enough hearing that she could hear the noise, but it was vague to her and it didn't have the same effect. Still, she realized it was there.
She moved backwards, looking into Su'Ish's eyes, her own filled with pain because of his suffering. She had put one and one together and realized that the scientists must be behind this. "Su'Ish..." She whispered, then glared towards the source of the sound: a fake bird. Growling, she moved towards the tree and leapt up, attaching herself to the bark with her sharp claws. She climbed swiftly as a cat should, and stopped at the branch where the bird sat with its mouth opened.
Growling, she creapt along the branch, her golden red eyes filled with fury. She was poised and ready, her long tail with the 3 claws at the end lashing out, grabbing a hold of the bird. The 3 claws closed around the little machine the doctors put up and she attempted to rip it from its perch and crush it in her anger.

| The bird sent a coil of electricity shooting through the feline's hand in self-defense.
"Ah, ah, ah..." A speaker under a wing spoke softly, "This is not for touching. And you are out of bounds, Mrs. Lynx..."
Koma's eyes began to water. Everything was starting to become fuzzy, and the world spun in ways Koma didn't know it could.
He felt his form writhe, contort, phase, phase back, too fast to be comfortable. A trickle of blood came out one of Koma's eyes.
Now, now, time to come in for your check up, Koma...
He heard the voice that wasn't Instinct in his head loudly and clearly above the screeching pain.
Koma sprinted for the school. Get away. Get away. Get away. Make it stop. Make it stop.
Koma lurched into a stone hand rail, bashing through it with girth and momentum. It hurt, but not enough to keep him from moving. He galloped through the hallways, past the occasional started classmate still going about their business in class. He stopped partway in one hallway to turn and bash his was into a white room, the door to which was labeled, "Science and Research Dept."
He layed there, rolling on the ground to try and get the screeching out of his head.
All of a sudden, it was quiet.
Koma lay there, panting on the floor of the research laboratory, waiting for his examiner to lead him through the average process.

| The scientists should have known better. Lynx couldn't feel pain, and though the electricity slowed her body down, it didn't stop her. She snarled in anger, the gold in her eyes slowly fading to reveal only red as she began to go into a rage. She ripped and tore at the bird in her fury, not noticing that Koma took off back towards the school. ((Sorry if you really didn't want the bird destroyed. ^__^ If its a big problem, I can change it.))
Once the bird was good and dead, Lynx let herself drop from the tree, looking around. Her eyes were returning to normal and she found her friend was gone. She growled, pacing a few steps, looking off into the forest. Should she run for it?
In her distraction, she didn't notice until it was too late that a team had been sent out to bring her back. The dart was in her shoulder before she knew the direction it came from. Snarling, she whirled, but saw no one. Groaning, she could feel the world around her begin to spin. Pulling the dart from her arm, she gave one more howl of anger before collasping onto the ground and passing out.
The team of scientists sighed as they hopped from their jeep and moved to pick her up. There were three of them and the two passengers lifted her up and set her rather gently into the back of the jeep before hopping back in and heading back towards the school.

| ((Nah, I just felt that it needed some kind of self-defense. I'm not butt-hurt, I just thought a surveilance device in such a hi-tech place should have some defenses on it :3 no hard feelings, Kitty))
Something was cold. It was cold, and it was dark. Koma's eyelids reluctantly opened and his eyes rolled into focus. He couldn't see. It was too dark. He listened for intelligence from Instinct.
...
Nothing.
Wait... hello? Koma felt so empty in his head. There was no command running him, no drive to do things he enjoyed, just... him.
"We've been meaning to get rid of that for a long time, Teophilus."
Koma looked up, his body unyielding on the cold hard surface. He heard a voice, and it wasn't in his head, because it was loud enough to hurt his ears, which were still raw from screeching. Koma said nothing.
"Something in you has been fighting back. Resisting us and our studies to explain... you."
Koma wished his body would move, but it wouldn't.
"We still aren't able to explain it scientifically. Something about that Harvest Moon, many years ago, brought him around and into you. Your cell structure, DNA, even the strong majority of most mental function has been perfectly normal. Which leads us to our only scientific conclusion we can muster."
Koma heard words, but the meaning behind them was lost somewhere between the voice and the cold floor.
"You... aren't a mutant, Teophilus Koma. You aren't even scientifically interesting. You are actually rather boring. You eat, you sleep, you run and play with all your little friends. Uninteresting, yes... but valuable."
Value. Koma remembered that word. His parents told him that their efforts to have a son and a normal life were worthless. Without value. What was this person saying.
"Dr. Kimcoh, let's begin experimentation for Project Jeckel."

| ((None at all! ^__^ Just wanted to make sure you didn't mind.))
As Lynx awoke, the first thing she felt was cold steel beneath her. Oh god...no, not again, she thought to herself with a moan. Slowly she opened her red-gold eyes, staring out at a clean white floor, with heavy metal bars blocking part of her vision. With a great effort she managed to sit up, looking all around her.
She was in a small cage, about 4 feet by 4 feet, made of reinforced steel, with a low ceiling that forced her to crouch, not allowing her to sit up straight. She was in a room painted a blinding white and she was alone.
Closing her eyes, she leaned back against the cage, drawing her legs to her chest. It would be a few hours until a doctor released her, and then she'd probably be forced to be experimented on before she was released again. Chewing on her bottom lip, she hoped Su'Ish was in a better situation.
((Is it just me or is this dark and torturous? *sad face* We need to have something happy happen or get a revolt going!! ^_^))

"Ugh! You are so impossible, Paqil! Behave!"
A scientist stormed past Lynx's room.
From a room not too far away from hers, she heard a shrill laughter. It was high pitched, throaty, and drawn out.
"Oh, Butchers, that's a good one, I crack myself up!" More laughter.

| ((Humm, I'll work on scientists and other NPC profiles A.S.A.P., and you can add your own too, and then the real fun begin... Not too sure what it will be, but something less darkish would be nice... *goes off to plan something*))
Lei patiently looked at the screen, holding her breath, sweating, wishing that this would stop... Scientists had started those experimentation not long ago. They placed the kids in front of some screen and showed them traumatic scenes. Since most kids were quite sensible, they usually reacted at the pictures, releasing their powers without limiting them, which was exactly what the scientists wanted. But it was obviously painful for most kids, which frankly didn't seem to be a trouble for the scientific team.
Normally, the doctors didn't stay in the same room as the kids, for safety purpose. Though, the female doctor was still beside Lei, sitting on some metal stool, taking notes on a little pad has the experiment went on. Oh, right, I'm not dangerous anyway... Lei thought, a bit sad suddenly. She was a lifebringer, one of the strangest mutant kind, but a lifebringer needed objects to bring them to life... and there was nothing in the room except her, the doc, their two chairs, the screen and the table with Illya on it... Nothing she could use. She felt tears coming to her eyes, suddenly feeling so tired and vulnerable.
Lei wasn't like the other kids. She was one of the experimentation the scientists had made, a little orphan with no family who ended up in this. And, unlike most of the other kids, she had not developed a lot of powers. Maybe it was because she was still young... She was only able to bring life to inanimate plushies, which wasn't that useful. According to the scientists, it was because the only thing she had with her when she was young were her plushies, and therefore she bonded with them... She always kept the old teddy bear one of the scientists gave her when she first came to the research center, her dear, precious Illya. That bear was everything, her friend, family and protector. But now, Illya wasn't with her! She was on the table, about two meters away from her, and there was nothing she could do to get her. She wanted the bear! Now! And she wanted those horrible pictures to stop!
She closed her eyes, and the world became suddenly blurry and fuzzy around her. She wanted to get out, quickly. She twisted in the leather straps that were holding her down into the chair, feeling them slashing her skin as she tried to free herself. "Now, now, you know it's not over yet. Calm yourself and watch that screen, Lei," the doctor said, her voice always so calm. So calm! Lei couldn't hear it anymore. She wanted to get out! She let go a scream, her high-pitched voice reasoning on the walls of the room.
Suddenly, Illya started to move. Her right paw first, then the left, then her head. She got up on her paws and walked toward her master, like she would normally do, trying to comfort the kid. But as she touched the ground, something funny happened. Illya started to grow, quickly, becoming as big as a panda bear. She didn't look anything like a toy right now, and let go a powerful roar as she looked at the doctor. That human had hurt her beloved master. Therefore, that human was bad... Illya got up on her back legs and looked at the scientist, a mad grin on her large furry face. The doctor, who had not see that coming, got up from the stool in a jump, throwing it to the ground as she did. She immediately ran for the door, exiting the room as fast as she could. Illya didn't try to stop her. Her master was here and she preferred to stay with her than running after some human. She had scared the scientist away, therefore she didn't feel like she needed to hunt her down.
Lei sighed, exhausted. The world around her became black as she passed out. Illya got close to her, pressing her nose on her master's hand. She riped apart the leather straps, freeing the kid, and than sat beside her, waiting for her to come back to herself. She knew she was just exhausted and would be awake soon.
The doc has closed the door behind her, and locked it from the outside to prevent the bear, and Lei, from getting out. She took a cellphone from her pocket, pressing a small button before she took the phone close to her mouth. "We have a problem," she said.

Username: TheMountainScene
Character's name: Kawisish "Paqil" (Pronounced Pah-Keel) Thurm
Sex: male
Age: 16
Mutation(s): Similar to Koma's only a Hyena, rather than a bear.
Description: He is tall and lanky, and usually walks with a hunch. Picturaphobic (fear of being photographed).
Biography: Thurm showed up on the school's doorstep one day in a wicker basket with his birth certificate and information in it, parents unlisted. Since then he's been held in the labs, deemed "socially unstable" for participation with other people and children. All the scientists refer to him by his nickname, Paqil (means flower, ironically), because of the inability to pronounce his name. He has a shrill unsettling laugh that rattles the windows on his room constantly. He always enjoys a decent practical joke.
Other: He's been aching to get out of the labs since he got there, making his studier's lives hell whenever he has the chance. In a way similar to Koma, Thurm is deathly afraid of being photographed, for reasons unknown. His color will be YELLOW.

| ((I like suspense and dark stuff, I just don't want this place to end up in a gore blood bath or something ^^ A little dark, however, make it seems more realistic, 'cause I don't know maybe mutant labs who are all cuddly-friendly with their test subject... but then again, I don't know that many mutant labs...
As a side note, I had a new rules about how many character you can have (check second post), and I finish linking all the new players. Now, I'll be working on some research team NPCs profiles...))
Lei opened her eyes, feeling the cold plastic nose of Illya on her hand. She lifted her head a little, trying to see around her. The lights of the room were closed, the blinds of the window too, and the T.V screen was broken for some reason... the only light was coming from the little crack between the door and the floor, and it wasn't enough for her to see something. But she knew Illya was close to her, she just knew the "thing" she was feeling on her hand was her friend's nose, probably due to her bond with the now giant teddy bear. She could only she Illya's silhouette against the ligt coming from the door, and noticed it was quite bigger than what she remember, about the size of a giant panda.
"Illya! What happened?" Lei said, suddenly regaining her normal attitude. "You're all big now?! And where's the doc?" she quickly asked, not remembering anything that had happened after she sat on the chair. Illya attempted to tell her master what was going on, pointing at the door, growling, pointing at the T.V, roaring a little more, pointing at the straps, mumbling... Illya was just a plushie toy in the end and she couldn't explain things clearly, even if she would have loved to. Lei was normally plenty conscious when her bear was awake, and she could understand what the bear was saying because she knew what was happening and was able to deduct the missing part logically. But now, she didn't know what had happened...
Lei shivered, looking at her bear friend. She had never seen her like that, and she was quite worry about it. She reached her hand to pet her bear's head. "There, there, Illya. It's ok." she sad as calmly as she could, petting the bear. Illya let go a sad roar and started to shrink back to her normal size, about one foot tall teddy bear. She quickly climbed onto her master's lap. Lei hold the bear close to her heart, trying to comfort them both. She didn't knew what she was supposed to do now. The doctor wasn't around, but did that meant the experiment was over? She wasn't sure...
Lei got up, her legs still painfully supporting her. She didn't know what she did, but she was all exhausted from it... and the doctor wasn't around, which was worrying her the most. She had heard, like most kids here, the stories of experimentations going wrong and the kids ending up killing the doctors who were studying them... and those stories never ended in a good way. She kinda knew that the doctor was not hurt, mainly because there was no blood on Illya, which was anyway too soft really hurt someone, with her little plush claws...
Lei sighed. This was going to be a long day. Now, the older kids she had met this morning had probably finished playing... She walked to the door and tried to open it. Locked, the nob answered to her hand trying to turn it. "That's not good," Lei said to herself. But now, she could hear someone talking on the other side of the door. She stopped moving, listening to what was going on. She recognized the doctor voice...
The doctor was talking in her cellphone, probably to the security service. "I don't know what happen," she said, her voice still shaking a bit.
"Slow down and explain yourself," the voice answered to her.
"She started to twist and shake after some time, and when I look around, the bear was suddenly bigger and... alive!
- Did she touch it?
- No, I placed it on a side table before we start the experimentation. It was at least one meter away from her, and she could never had reached it."
The silence last for a minute or so. "According to the surveillance camera, she is awake now. Looks like you will need to go talk to her," the voice said, half-serious, half-laughing from hearing the doc being nervous. She was never nervous, or at least she never showed it before.
"Looks like I have no choice. Do you see the bear?" she answered, annoyed by his voice tone.
"No... oh, wait! Yes, it's in her arms, a normal size teddy bear.
- Ok, then... Just tell the boss I'll meet them later," she said before hanging up her phone and putting in back into her pocket. She sighed, replacing her clothes like if nothing had happened. She turned to the door and unlocked it, opening it to meet with an apparently surprised Lei.
