| A-freakin-men!!
everybody is making way too big of a deal about this whole thing. I mean, yeah, i'll fight for our rights but the other side is looking for every excuse not to extend the rights given to heterosexual couples. In a lot of cases, the arguments i've heard have something do do with marriage being for procreation, which is how it was intended way back when, but we're not stuck in that day and age anymore! using that excuse says that old people and infertile people can't get married either. But the queer community is rising out from under the radar so things are slowly becoming more equal, which is great

| What's wrong with gay people? Gay guys are a girls best friend because they'll shop with girls, talk with girls about anything, and they'll check out a guy's ass with you. XD

| Er, the bible says that man loving man is not a sin, just when they have sexual intercourse with each other.
Same with girls.

Crap. That and I have boobs. So obviously I'm not intelligent or for some reason that keeps me from being able to become a president.
Or anyone remotely intelligent.
Note, I might be republican in my beliefs, but that doesn't mean I believe everything they have to say is right. Such as gay marriage and such. I'm extremely pro-life, though, that's something no one can ever make me budge on. EVER.
I kind of dabble in both wings of the political scale, I guess. Probably another reason why I wouldn't make a good president. I DEMAND EQUALITY BETWEEN PARTIES TOO. >>;

| I don't get it either. I say there is nothing wrong with gay people. I know some people think it's wrong cause it's not in the bible. I think it's stupid. Gay people have right too.

| Veri - HAte to burst your bubble, but there hasn't been equality in the United States.
Ever.
Not entirely anyway. Just kind of a 60:40 or 70:30 balance between racism, religion, sexism, and just generalization. It's a sucky truth, but it is one.
Blacks are automatically assumed to be in gangs.
Whites are automatically assumed to be racist biggots (Though some are).
Cheerleaders are assumed to be ignorant tight wadded bitches.
Gays are assumed to be of the devil and disgusting.
You can ask any southerner (Well, Mid-southerner. I live in TN and if I ever ask that question, that's generally the answer I get) that, well, okay, be careful who you ask, nowadays, there's a ton of posers now.

So you are saying that even thought America says it's the land of the free it's really not. If it was then wouldn't everyone be treated equality? Sorry if I seem rude or anything.

| I really don't like this topic.
But as a Christian, I think that the government needs to stay out of marriage all together. Marriage is a term used by the church, not the government. So why not separation of church and state?
I believe that anyone should be able to live together and get benefits from civil unions by the government. And I believe that the church should dictate who can be "married".
Becoming married in the eyes of the church should not automatically make you married in the eyes of the government. Everyone should have to get civil unions for benefits from the government.
I know many people don't agree with this view. But, honestly, it makes the most sense to me.

| It does make sense, but saying it like that just makes it seem like a really unsatisfactory answer you know?
Besides, we could never get everyone to not complain about having to get a civil union for the government.
But then, people here will always complain about something, it seems.
