Indeed, the longer your posts are, the more silver you get, up to a maximum of 100 silver per post. Although, posts that are made longer solely for the purpose of getting more silver are kinda considered like spam, so yeah, avoid that please.
The best forums to make longer posts are the role-play section (the Theater) and the serious discussion forum (a.k.a University). Although the role-play forums are generally more active, so it's probably the best place.
Anyway, hope you will have lots of fun with us, and feel free to check the Newcomers Help Center linked in my signature for you newbie gift and other useful things!
