| Here's a humble introduction from Tarragon, the spicy dragon. ^__^ That being me of course. I was looking for a place to get away from the micro-transaction model that has swallowed up another popular avatar forum like a Kudzu. I used to spend a lot of time there, and I missed it. But not the drain on my already slim wallet it wished to become.
I'm in my early twenties, I love online browsing as a time sink, I also love horses and ancient Roman history, and my favorite color is teal (cerulean too, and it has an awesome name). I love unnecessary factoids. . . apparently I'm pretty narcissistic too.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to spending some time here and interacting with the locals. Hopefully beyond the lurking that I usually resort to. Fingers crossed!

| Definitely interact =]. Everyone here is incredibly nice. Except me D<.
Do you horseback ride? =3 I very rarely find other riders on the internet D: I don't know why.
Welcome! ^__^ Hope to see you around~

| Unfortunately, Dr. Tick Tock, I don't ride. Not for lack of desire, of course, but I'm in the category of those who find it difficult to ride; I have balance issues and I'm overweight (unless someone wants to plant a drafter under my surprisingly small butt, it's a pretty big issue-- pardon the pun). I've played a few horse raising games to try and compensate for that, both online and off, however.
And thank you for the welcome Maeve. And I'll be sure to do so. ^__^

| Welcome, friend. I'm new here too, but it seems like a real' nice place. Not to be strange but I like your method of speaking, very fluid and well constructed. I've gone horseback riding once when I was younger during a field trip, seventh grade I believe. It's nice but definitely something that takes practice! And haven't you lucked out, the font here is rather teal. :{D

| Hello Rhemiyl, and thank you for the welcome. My thanks for the compliment as well; I don't find it strange, seeing as I attended extra English courses in high school for extracurricular credits. Although I fear I tend to filibuster, rather than be succinct.
I had noticed the font coloring, and I agree. The color scheme itself may be part of the reason I chose to join. Who knows? ^__-

| It's possible. I know I really like the scheme myself.
And the English language really might be my favorite with how to the point you could be or take the scenic route. Most other languages seem bland in comparison with few ways to describe something.

| I agree with you. And as my native tongue English is certainly my favorite language.
Though I have heard of Japanese being referred to as "the language of the infinite" where any tense can be expressed through the present; a fascinating study in inflection and abstraction rather than the concrete (to me). I suppose that may be why I am studying Japanese, albeit slowly and even aimlessly, as a third language. Unfortunately, my limited grasp on Spanish as a second language doesn't help since I usually end up vocalizing Japanese with some bastardized Spanglish accent. I also managed to veer a tad off topic. . . ah well.

| Not at all, this is indeed your thread to banter on about whatever you like. Personally I have a regard and distaste for the Japanese tense deal. I'm probably just all too accustomed to the ones I use now.
Spanish it pretty good way to add a tinge of obscurity to any accent, hahaha.

| My love for the language may not be entirely geared toward the language, but rather a desire to communicate when my dream of experiencing Japan does materialize. As for accents, a Spanish accent learned scholastically is certain to flavor any language just until incomprehensibility. I likely would have been better off learning to speak Spanish from my favorite aunt and uncle, if only because it would have been more practical.

| Well that would normally be the more efficient way of going about it, learning it by using it from day to day.
And that's totally understandable. That was the more prominent reason I took Spanish in high-school. I loved the idea of communication with a wider group of people. I'm kind of one for communication, although a meaning can be conveyed without words.

| Not only more efficient, but more effective; my intentions to learn Spanish were that I might be able to communicate with the Hispanics I came in contact with on a day-to-day basis and not so I could go abroad in Spain. Book learning is, more or less, better suited for the latter.
However I've become my dad's go-to source for identifying different Asian languages since many of the individuals he deals with in his job are Asian. He's failed to realize I'm only good at telling him whether they are Japanese or not, I suppose. ;>__> Or Indian/Pakistani, I suppose, since they're Asians too. But I'm pretty sure he can tell that on his own.

| Ah, it's always fun trying to determine ethnicity, I think. I used to do that with a friend in school or the casino. It's getting harder to do with all the "interracial" marrying.

| I agree; I have a biracial friend who many people confuse for being Hispanic or Polynesian. The latter however may also have to do with her size. Of course we're similar in clothing size but built very differently; she's taller and wider on the bottom, whereas I'm pretty evenly distributed and average height.

| I've met plenty of people that appear to be another race completely due to their weight. I find that pretty interesting, actually, how just a bit of fat can distort a face or body so greatly sometimes.
