| The season and theme of Easter inspire so much creativity - I love preparing for it with my siblings. Of course there are the hard boiled eggs and chocolates, but we also enjoy making many other desserts together. (My personal favorite is lemon cake. )
How do you celebrate Easter? What kinds of foods do you enjoy preparing most?

| Well, holidays in general translate to family time for my family. So, of course, there's always a fair ammount of preperation and excitement by and for all involved.
As for Easter, specifically: every year when my cousin (who is only a few months younger than I am) and I were young children, our aunt, my mother, and her mother would dye hard-boiled eggs with us the night before Easter; it was a big ordeal and a great excuse to make a mess out of grandma's kitchen. This tradition has been passed down to my younger cousins and little brother; now my cousin and I don't have to dye all those eggs alone. XD
Easter morning usually started with a church service, in which I got to wear my special Easter dress that my mother bought new for me every year. (Except for the one year that I decided to pick out a nice, dressy short outfit, and my mother about had a fit. xD;) As I got older, I gravitated away from the church service bit, as did my cousin (both for our own various reasons) but the rest of my mother's family still attended religously. (I mean, how else does one attend a church service, at any rate?)
Anyway, after church, we had (and still do have) an Easter Egg hunt (actually my father's side of the family does this too) usually in the back yard; which the adults have had to prepare all the plastic eggs for, tirelessly, the night before. (I think this was quashed one year when my aunt's cat decided to kill and maime a rabbit in the back yard though. )
Oh, and another tradition I forgot to mention is the morning Easter Baskets! Every morning (or whenever it is we all have the chance to get together nowadays) each of the children get an Easter Basket full of candy and usually a stuffed animal of sorts. (It should be noted that I still get an Easter Basket from both sides of my family, every year. Even though I'm far past being considered as "one of the children." X3 )
Last, there's the Easter meal (usually it's dinner, but not always.) Both sides of my family do this as well (all the duality makes for a rather busy holiday, what with travel and all. ^^; ) My grandmother on my mom's side usually makes sort of a buffet-style meal with cold cut turkey and ham, fresh veggies, some kind of casserole, desserts and the like. The family all then proceed to graze at their own leisure. XD My father's mother is a bit more traditional, and every year, invariably, she puts on quite a spread. She bakes a ham with cherries and pineapple on top, makes home-made sweet ham gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, greenbean casserole, and rolls with tons of butter. She's also famous in the family for her desserts, which include: peanut butter fudge, this frozen Cool Whip salad thin with cherries and pineapple, and pie. (And now I need to stop, because I'm getting hungry. >.>; )
Wow, long post is long. But if you take nothing else away from this, let this be the one thing: we all celebrate differently (some of us not at all) but no matter our reasons or how we do it, the message remains the same. Have fun, appriciate and love each other, and last but not least, HAVE A HAPPY EASTER!~

| Unfortunately we don't do much for the easter holdiays. I just suffer with my siblings and mother not getting on with each other. As for new foods and such, my dad just buys these low fat hot cross buns at tesco. And I eat far too much chocolate XD

| I don't celebrate Easter anymore(It's too christian of a holiday... I can ignore Christmas, because it's become so commercialized, but Easter is too much still.). But as a kid we used to do the whole painted eggs and hiding stuff. That stopped when I was 10 though. XD

| First we get easter baskets, with lots of fruit and a little bit of candy(ever since I was a kid, I thought they meant something insulting by it, but I like my fruit. XD), we get a good breakfast, then mass(2hrs XP), then get home and start cooking dinner. About 3pm people start arriving and we aren't yet done cooking... And then we eat and take a nap.

| I love spending holidays with the family.
Although my grandma is a devout Christian and tries to make the holidays about God and whatnot, I'm personally Agnostic. (Shhhh, don't tell her. >>) I'm actually trying to get back into Christianity, but I don't feel anything, so maybe the upcoming Easter Sunday at church will do something for me. I'd really like that.
And oh yeah, BUNNY TRACKS.

| I just wanted to pop in and say happy Easter. It seems that our family traditions have died down, so I'll be busy with school work. I hope that everyone has a nice day though. :]

| A happy belated Easter to you all!~ :3 I had to work all night, so I didn't get my customary great meal. :[ Also, my grandparents on my mother's side decided not to do Easter baskets/candy this year...my other grandma still fixed me a huge Easter baket, but I have to wait 'till sometime next week to get it. *Sigh.* Ah well, I suppose this gives me something to look forward to in what would otherwise be a mundane school/work week.

| I love Easter. This is my second Easter with my two year old, He got to help me make cupcakes and find eggs. We had a great day and went to see Rio, it was cute. I think Easter is actually a lot more fun when I get to spend it with little kids. .gif)

One of the kids left their candy bag behind(big family dinner) and I'm actually eating it right now. XD
