Well, it's always a good idea to start by making your character. Although it is mostly used to battle, it's also kinda the base for the whole avatar system and stuff. So yeah, you should start by making one. Just click the character tab and select the things you prefer, etc., etc. (There's a more in-depth guide in the Newcomers Help Center linked in my signature, along with other helpful things. .gif) )
Then, I guess you should start chatting. Mido is a bit slow right now, but the Lounge is generally the most active place, and an easy spot to meet other people.
