| Story
It’s been five centuries since the wars between the races ended. Peace has seemingly been gained by all that are left which is not many. Vampire, Human’s Elves and Drow survived the war. Dwarves and halflings did not. Of course there will always be the occasional fight over something petty such as land or supply routes, they do not last for long and haven’t turned into wars yet.
You see there’s a bigger threat to peace than an all out war of all the races again. There’s the tainted the sons and daughters of demon spawn brought to this plain of existence by an evil priestess whom died at the hands of the very demons she brought forth. The portal she opened closed upon her death but it caused a disruption of the plains now demon portals pop up almost everywhere and there are people that open them just to watch the destruction. Unfortunately those that become tainted must be killed immediately otherwise more deaths will occur. The only way to tell a person is tainted so far has been to look at their eyes if the eyes are glowing blood red with no pupils it is usually a full sign that someone has been tainted fully and are about to go on a rampage to feast and create more. *Think zombie if your confused*It has been acknowledged on several accounts though that people can be only half tainted gaining some control over the demon within themselves. These people are simply called half taints since they have gained control over there demon and only have one red eye. There are not many of these people know but those that are must have some form of red clothing on at all times that way they can be identified as having demon spawn within them and able to turn fully tainted at any moment. Most half taints have gone into hiding others are attempting to prove their worth as mercenaries for hire.
Ok this is set somewhat in the future with enhanced weaponry nothing like say Star Wars or even Star Trek like. Laser weapons such as guns have been invented however are rare and very unstable in their current form. Laser enhancements to weapons however are not rare at all in fact if you don’t have a laser enhancement on your sword of knife to make it cut better your considered to be from ancient times. There are explosive weapons as well such as throwing knives and other such projectiles like arrows or bolts.
Also forgot to mention yes Drow have infra-vision they can see in infrared in the dark meaning they can basically see anything in the dark once their eyes adjust to the setting. Vampires on the other hand only have low light vision meaning they can see in the dark yes heck everyone has the ability to see in the dark but not in pitch black where there is no light at all like a drow can only they can so please no one saying that there vampire character can keep it realistic to a sense.
*Till I get it finished and am able to start it more might be added here over time.*

| Characters and Players
My Character
Name: Kiraray or Kira for short
Age: 9 centuries old
Race: Drow
Hair Color and Length: Long almost knee length hair with dark blue dyed ends. Usually kept up in a high ponytail and bangs with purple dye on the ends*
Eye Color: Copper
Clothing: Kira normally wears leather pants and a leather type tank top. *not shiny vinyl leather think dnd type leather* with a trench coat over it.
Weapons: A long staff with a blade on the end that. Two straight swords with lazer enhancements and a croddbow with explodeing bolts.
Personality:Kira has what is know as an explosive personality. Most of the time she is stoic and quite like most Drow other times she can be a bit eccentric and overly loud. She also has an explosive temper. Basically don't get on her bad side.
Job: Mercenary
History: Kira has been around for a long time. Long enough to see the end of the war and the destruction of her family hence the reason she has no surname. In Drow society once your family is dead you are dead aside from your first name unless adopted by another family. She is from one of the last few family's that dyed their hair to symbolize there power and rank in the family most families now wear there hair long and all white with varying styles. She became a mercenary for hire almost as soon as the war was over and she discovered she had no home to go back to. Most of her times is spent in taverns to learn of new jobs or on the job since she is almost always on the move.
Magical abilities: Kira has some minor arcane and elemental ability

Name: Lilian Saqqara
Age: 120
Race: Half-Taint Elf
Hair Color and Length: Liliana's hair is an auburn color, and is long and very wavy. It is usually worn in a high ponytail.
Eye Color: Violet right eye, red left eye
Clothing: She wears a red and gold belly-dancer's top with a blue skirt with gold fringes. She has lots of golden jewelry and red and gold sandals. She usually wears a blue scarf around her head to cover her left eye, saying she lost it in an accident. Her jewelry contains magical suppressants to keep the demon within in check.
Weapons: None. She is a pacifist (when she has control of herself, that is)
Personality: Liliana is a gentle woman who despises her tainted bloodline. She wanders from town to town, leaving when she becomes too well-known. Usually she keeps her true nature suppressed using the magic from her father's side, but when the demon inside her is unleashed, she becomes a psychotic and bloodthirsty killer. When under control, though, she is a kind soul that loves children and would do anything to protect them.
Job: Wandering fortune-teller and sorceress
History: Liliana was born into a family that practiced the ancient arts of elven magic. She was the illegitimate child of an elvish sorcerer of high standing and a tainted elven woman. The sorcerer's council managed to kill the woman after she gave birth to the child, and used magic to suppress the child's demonic nature. She was raised as an apprentice sorceress with all of the other children, but was constantly feared because of her tainted nature. As she matured, she favored the powers of divination over any other form of magic, pouring most of her power into a deck of magical cards that she used to predict the future. One day, she predicted a flaw in her magic protection and forced the council to lock her away until she could suppress it again. The locks failed, and she tore through the academy, slaying anybody who got in her way, most of them being young children. After the council managed to suppress her powers once again, she was told to leave the academy because she was too much of a threat for them to constantly deal with. She left with jewelry enchanted to keep her tainted blood at bay and started making her way in the world as a fortune teller.

Name: Zuvri "Greyskin" U'kilshor
Age: 214 years old
Race: Half-Elf / Half-Drow
Hair Color and Length: White hair going down to his waist, usually kept braided at the back of his head, though he keeps some bangs on his front.
Eye Color: Blue right eye and red left eye (his pupil is red, not the whole eye, and he's not a half-tainted)
Clothing: Usually a black cotton shirt and pants with a black leather belt and protections (shoulders, vest, gauntlets, knees, boots). Prefers clothes that allow movements, so nothing too stretched or too large. Some small accessories (silver chain and earring on the left ear).
Weapons: Two scimitars that he carries at his waist (both on the left side) and a couple of small throwing knives with explosive charges attached to them, tied to a belt and hidden under his vest until he needs to use them. His scimitars possess a laser enhancement that make them glow of a faint blue color and make them cut better. It can be turned off if wanted.
Personality: Reserved; loner; dreamer; doesn't like being in a crowd and drow; a bit impulsive at time; would love to live a simple life, but doubt it will happen one day.
Job: Mercenary (fighter/mage)
History: Zuvri was the illegitimate child of an elven slave mother and a wealthy drow father. Like the other slaves' kids, he was separated from his mother at a young age and placed under the care of teacher, who taught him how to fight. When he reached adulthood, he was sent on mission to protect his half-brother during a travel to a nearby city. Unfortunately, they got trapped in an ambush. The other bodyguards and his half-brother perished. Zuvri was still young and inexperienced at that time, and he only survived because he hid well. Once the fight was over, he thought about returning to his hometown, but quickly decided that it wasn't a good idea. Instead, he decided to travel on his own, renting his services as mercenary. Rumors say that his father's clan has placed a bounty on his head, because they believe he is the responsible of their heir's death.
Note: Zuvri's skin is of a grey-ish color, due to the mix of elven and drow blood. That's why he got the nickname "Greyskin". Though he doesn't like it a lot, he often use it instead of his father's last name, U'kilshor, since he doesn't like being reminded of his link to the drow family.

Name: Jenna Mullen
Age: 345 (Appears to be in her early twenties)
Race: Vampire
Hair Color and Length: Dark brown. It falls just past her shoulders and is usually kept in a low but tidy ponytail.
Eye Color: Hazel
Clothing: All of Jenna's clothing are black, with the exception of the Mullen family crest emblazoned on her armor, over her heart. She wears a modified exterminator mesh GT with a thickened trauma plate hidden under a heavy leather duster. She is a fan of fedoras, and is periodically seen wearing one. Her civvies are made up of cargo pants and long sleeved shirts. Her steel toed boots are meant for stomping, and hiding knives, and a flask that is constantly filled with blood.
Weapons: Lazer enhanced claw bracers made from inconel 625. (A metal that is stronger than titanium.) Jenna also possesses a number of lazer enhanced throwing knives. And a silenced desert fox, just for good measure.
Personality: Jenna is quiet, and tries to have as little to do with other people as she can. She's usually polite with people who chose to interact with her in the same fashion. She doesn't like getting too attached to someone she might need to kill to protect herself, or watch die of old age, or worse, feed off of. She's willing to attempt to get along with other races, as long as they don't make assumptions because of what she is. Jenna holds no grudge or malice for half-taints, as they, like she, had no choice in becoming what they are.
Job: Mercenary (Fighter/ Assassin)
History: Jenna never knew the name of the vampire who turned her. She's not even sure of the exact date it happened. Everything she knew about that time was told to her by people who had been present when it happened. Her own memories of that time are fragmented, like a nightmare that fades away with the morning light. She does know that she used to be human, and that she was 25 when she joined the ranks of the undead. She tried denying her new life style to the point of nearly starving to death. By that time, she under the guidance of a friend of hers, she worked out a deal with the local hospital. As long as she didn't go around feeding indiscriminately like some other vampires, she could purchase any excess blood from their stores. Of course, there isn't much at any given time. But it was better than starving.
To make up for the irregular intervals of blood surplus, Jenna became a mercenary. She doesn't like what she does for a living, but she figures it's better than feeding on innocent people.
Magical abilities: Outside of some racial vampire abilities. (Enhanced, healing, strength, endurance, and low light vision) Jenna has become an accomplished Shadowmancer and had rudimentary water element abilities.

| Introduction
(( Alright it has been a long time since I have run an RP so you will have to give me some time to get back into the swing of things so I am gonna start everyone in the same location since that always seems to be easier at least in my experience.))
The main city or better known to most as the center of the world is "Krillnesh". Home to basically well everyone and almost well everything you name it and it was in Krillnesh. Krillnesh is like most city's full of buildings people hocking there wares on the street for whatever gold, silver, or copper piece they could get for it. Thieves, mercenary's, good normal people just trying to make a living in what is left of the world. For a city it's not elegant there's no castle no ruling family just the tavern is were piece and any form of justice comes from. Yes the tavern home to one of the largest guilds in all of the world the "Mercenary's Guild". If you want a job done or need to get a job Loth's Bane is the place to get it. Being the center most building of the city as well as the largest also makes it kind ave hard to miss not to mention the roof of the building is shaped like a giant spider as a means to appease Loth for daring to use her name for the tavern in the first place. It's also not just a great place to find workers or a job but a great place to sleep for the night especially for weary travelers come from a long journey or someone returning from a mission for the mercenary's guild. *You don't have to be a member to do jobs just able to actually do the job you pick to do.* So it's here we will begin.
((I would post more tonight but I am tired and need to sleep hope this gives a clear enough view of the tavern we will all be starting out at if not let me know I can make changes just bear with me since I am well not new at this just really really rusty. Think kind ave like the Tin Man with no oil for about 10 years))

| After analyzing the cards that were on the table, Lillian looked up at the man and smiled. "The cards tell me that you are going to meet your soulmate very soon. Just look in the most unusual of places. Keep your eyes a little more open."
He looked up at her with disbelief. "Are... are you sure?"
She nodded. "The cards have never lied to me."
The young man smiled. "Thank you, miss!" he almost skipped out of the small tent she set up for herself on the market street. Lillian put the cards back in her handmade deck and the deck back in its bag.
She had been in Krillnesh for about three days now, and it was still as overwhelming as it had been on the first day. She mostly did her business in small villages or desert outposts, and this was her first time in such a large city. She knew she'd get used to it eventually. She had to. With so many people, Krillnesh was the easiest place to hide.

| Zuvri walked into Loth's Bane. Though he didn't like the name of the tavern, it was still the best place to find work. And food, his stomach reminded him with a good roar. He gave a little nod to the bartender and some of the usual costumers before heading for his favourite place in the back of the main room, a shadowy corner he had learnt to love. It was a good spot to see what was going on and hear what was being said without getting too much attention.
"Same has usual," he said to the young girl who was coming to pick his order. The girl nodded and headed back to the kitchen.
The half-drow male had been in Krillnesh for about a year now, and he had came to the tavern almost every single day. He sighed a bit, wondering what he could do. Though he loved the anonymous feeling living in the town gave him, he knew there was a chance he would be discovered one day. Especially in a tavern full of mercenaries and bounty hunters, he thought with a shiver.
The man chased his thought as the young girl came back with a platter full of boiled meat and vegetables, and a good pint of beer. Now, it was time to eat. He would get plenty of time to think after.

| ((hope that makes it a bit easier to read. I had originally tabbed it over and everything when I typed it up in word but the transition must have smooshed everything back together. I will pay better attention next time.))
Kira hadn't been to Krillnesh in over two years so when she finally saw the gates to the city she was happy. She made her riding wolf break into full run just to get to the place she called home. The guards stopped her like they do everyone that entered the city. She flashed her id card and work order slip which explained the blood stained bag strapped to her wolf. The guards welcomed her back from a good kill and sent her on her way.
After stabling her wolf she walked in to Loth's Bane which was also her home. She had bought a permanent room here a few years back since it was the best place for work and food. Carrying the blood stained bag to the bar she waited for the bartender to address her when he did she spoke first. "I need to see Balkeshnerr I have his bounty and am here to collect. Also my room had better be in order since I did buy it after all." The bartender nodded finding out her information and sending someone Balkeshnerr. Of course Kira knew Balkeshnerr wouldn't show himself he rarely did he just hired people to do his dirty work. So she expected a henchman of his to verify her claim and give her the money. She gave the man the bloodied bag after he verified it he handed her a large bag of money and walked off back into the crowd.
She simply nodded and started to walk to her usual table noticing someone already there she found another place and jumped up on the table calling attention just to yell: " OY THE NEXT FIVE ROUNDS BE ON ME IF YE DON"T LIKE IT DEAL WITH IT CAUSE KIRA'S BACK IN TOWN YEEHAA" She said dropping off the table into the chair ordering her usual which was a large tankard of the house special ale which was known as Loth's blood a very potent beer at least to non drow. Her announcement only sent up cheers though as drinking contests ensued. She walked back to her normal table after a couple drinks to meet the person whom had taken her spot.
"Your in my seat you know?" She said to the pale skinned drow that was sitting there. "Not that I have any true claim to it, it's just a chair after all I just typically sit here when I'm in town. She said sitting in the second chair at the table since most all the tables in the tavern had two chairs sometimes more.

| Zuvri left his head from his plate when a strange female drow entered the bar with a large bloody bag. He left an eyebrow even more when she climbed on a table and yelled her offer, which resulted in noisy cheers throughout the room. He nodded a bit and tried to return to his place, ignoring what was going on around him, but the woman approached him. He left his head and looked at her, wondering what she wanted. Your... well, her seat, apparently, his brain told him. He swallowed a sigh when she sat at his table. She was either someone with a big and intrusive personality, or she had something to do with him. And in either case, he didn't like it much.
"You've been absent for a while then," he said, trying to look polite and nice, even showing a small smile. He normally remembered most of the drows he had seen, since he was a bit more cautious with them, and he clearly didn't remember this female. Plus, that had been his seat for the last year or so. "The name's Zuvri," he said, reaching a hand to the newcomer. He had no idea what the other wanted, but the best he could do was to look nice and try to learn more about her.

| After another hour or so, Lillian was starting to get hungry. Taking her newly earned coins and her cards, she closed up her small tent and walked to the nearest tavern. "Loth's Bane..." she looked up. "Doesn't exactly sound like a friendly place, but I'm too hungry to be picky." She shrugged and walked inside.
The crowd was rougher than the one that Lillian was used to, and she tried not to make eye contact as she walked towards an empty table. She knew that she could take care of herself if that was needed, but hopefully a situation of that nature would not arise. She pulled out her cards and started glancing down at them.
Her slim fingers shuffled the deck in fluid motions that were almost impossible to detect. Then she put a card down on the table. Once she turned it over, she revealed a colorfully dressed young man about to walk over a cliff. "The fool. The beginning of a journey." Lillian smiled. That only made sense. There was an air of adventure all over this city, and she knew one would start at any moment if she kept her eyes open.

| ((Forgive my spelling I am not at home where I can type on word or have firfox to correct me.))
"You would be correct I haven't been home in quite a while" Kira said takeing Zuvri's outstreached hand and giveing it a quick but firm shake. "My name is Kiraray but most people just call me Kira I prefer it to my old title anyway." She said takeing a quick glance around at people. She knew better than to keep her back to a crowd to long especially in a tavern regadless if it was one she called home.
"So seeming as you have claimed this spot in my absence I shall let you keep it. For now" She said mischevious smirk on her face as she left the table.
There weren't many that didn't know her in this town especially drow so meeting one that didn't already know her made her quite curious. "So far this is turning out to be a better home comeing than I thought." She said to herself as she went up the staircase to the part of the tavern that housed the rooms.
There were three floors of rooms the first floor being for those that didn't have much coin to pay. The next level of rooms are quite a bit cleaner mostly for travelers and those that were willing to pay a bit of higher coin for a decent bed. The third floor rooms however are resevered for high rolers drow clan leaders members of royal houses and just those that had enough coin to pay for it. These rooms are the most well kept and usually never a mess unless the patron asks for it that way which is almost never.
It was the third floor Kira was heded to she had paid for a room there a long time ago. She had once been there heir to a clan and didn't let the owners of Loth's Bane forget it even if she was on their payroll.
Her room wasn't as large as some on this floor nor wasn't as lavish or plush as some of the others but it suited her needs. A large comfy bed to sleep on plenty of space not to be bothered to often at least and a place to call home.
((That's where I shall leave you all till Friday.))

| Zuvri let go a small sigh of relief as the woman left him alone. He was still alive, and the other didn't seem to care about him much. Or at least she hid it well. He quickly finished his meal and drank his ale, getting a bit tensed as the room filled up with noisy people. The young man paid his due to the bartender and headed for the exit. He slowed down as he passed beside a table where a woman was sitting, apparently playing with some cards. He shrugged and headed outside quickly, not wanting to disturb whatever the other was doing. It was never a good idea to disturb people in a pub...
The half-drow walked fast to get away from Loth's Bane. He didn't know why, but something was telling him to get away from the place. "Probably just the noisy crowd," he thought, stopping at a small intersection and choosing to go to the left, toward the darkest part of the city. Though he was able to defend himself if needed, Zuvri preferred to keep away from trouble as much as he could. He wandered through the streets for a while, trying to chase the impression of being followed that was sticking to him.

| I may have forgot to mention something in the main story most of what is considered left of the world is underground in caverns. The current city we are in is in the opening of a large cavern leading to the under-dark home of the Drow and vampires. There is part of the city that isn't housed under the protection of the cavern most is though including the tavern. Sorry for not mentioning this sooner.
Kira typically would have went into her room at this point but something didn't feel right something about the entire third floor seemed to be saying leave now. Where she normally would have put these feelings aside and went into her room a scream from the far left end of the hallway stopped her.
Looking to see why someone had screamed she almost let one escape her lips as well. She held it back though seeing what was around the corner wasn't a good thing for anyone in the tavern and it wasn't something she was willing to stop on her own. Someone had foolishly opened a demon portal the woman that had just screamed was already tainted and more demons where coming out.
She turned tail and ran using a spell to seal off the third floor and going back into the main area of the tavern. Seeing how busy it was didn't help her be at any ease her home and town well basically everything was in trouble if the portal got bigger. She found the closest person that worked there and pulled them as far aside as she could. Unfortunately it wouldn't be out of full earshot of everyone and a panic would arise but that was a different story.
Coming to a stop near a table where someone was playing with an interesting deck of cards she informed what was going on upstairs. "I don't want to start a panic but with as full as the place is there will be one. Someone has opened a demon portal on the fourth floor where the good rooms are I didn't see whom. All I saw was a woman scream become turned and saw the portal itself. I didn't stick around longer than to seal it off with what little magic I could muster. We need to evacuate the tavern or we are going to have a full outbreak on our hands." She said to the waitress she had found and pulled aside.
"Now go tell Mavis and everyone else in the guild you can find to tell. Also if you see anyone who looks like a priest or priestess tell them as well we will need there help to seal it off completely. No go I am going to set off the alarm before it's to late." She said hurrying off out of the tavern and to the second largest structure of the town. The clock tower known by many names but used for two main purposes the time and for sounding the alarm for a demon attack. "I hope the hospital has cleared out some since the last time. Of course the last time was three years ago." She muttered to herself using a levitation spell to go up to the spot of the tower she needed to be at to set off the alarms. She saw no need to climb all the stairs and waste even more time.
Getting into the room and rushing past the guards who were asleep she set them off waking them up and warning everyone to get to shelter. "I just hope I get back in time to be of use." She said jumping back out of the window she had used to come in and levitating easily back to the ground.
She returned back to the tavern in time to get there before Mavis had started a plan of action. Mavis is the current leader of the mercenary's guild and owner of the Loth's Bane. He is quite tall for a human. His features aren't to bad to look at either. Long black hair pulled back into a braid, Sea Green eyes, slightly muscular and tanned skin.
To look at him you would have never thought a man like that could be the leader of mercenary's and thieves. Of course that's until you see the large black scar the is across his chest which he is quite proud of despite almost dying from the wound and being tainted as well. He had been lucky enough to survive the ordeal without anything more than the scar. Of course there are those that say he is almost fully tainted and hiding it behind contacts. These claims of course haven't been proven valid since the time is happened.
Kira stayed at the back of the crowd noticing some people hadn't left there tables left. She looked back to her old spot seeing Zuvri had left or was among the crowd now. She looked around for the one girl that had been playing the interesting card game. She had seemed intriguing aside from current circumstances. "Well Mavis get it started already" She muttered wondering what he had planned, she only hoped it wouldn't be as stupid as the last plan he had cooked up to deal with a demon portal.

| Lillian was in earshot when the dark elf delivered the news. Her golden bracelets seemed to get hot at the mentioning of the words, and she could feel the malevolence from the upper floors. She quickly packed her cards together and placed a quick protection spell over herself. Tainted ones influenced her changes over to darkness, and she didn't want to turn in such a crowded place. She then shuffled through her cards to find the perfect one to deal with the situation.
As she flipped through the beautifully made cards, she eventually found the one she contained a banishment spell on. She kept it for emergencies and to her knowledge, this was one. She then decided to stand her ground. Looking at her jewelry, it seemed to be holding up, thanks to the protection spell. This prescence was a very strong one, though, and she wasn't sure how long the spell would hold.
She would stand her ground, though, no matter what happened. If the tainted blood took control, she saw that there were enough strong men to tire out the demon and maybe even take her down. She hadn't turned in years, though, so she didn't know what kind of power it had now. Well, no matter. She was here, and part of this fight. And she would stay with it until the end.

| Jenna had been settling down for a nap when a blood curdling scream came from upstairs. The vampire had decided on a second story room at Loth's Bane, purely because she didn't want to spend a ton of money on one of the more expensive rooms. Though it hardly mattered. "I'm probably going to be blamed for that," she sighed. She sat up and carefully tucked her pouch of grave dirt back under her shirt. She hadn't slept in a coffin in ages, but the satchel she wore around her neck provided her with a decent day's sleep.
She was pulling on her armour when a knock sounded at her door. The inn worker looked a bit intimidated, but not just by being in the same room as a vampire. "Someone's opened a demon portal upstairs! We need all of the mercenaries and other fighters to meet with Mavis downstairs!"
"I'm on my way." Jenna nodded, giving the waitress leave to vacate the room. She pulled her heavy duster over her shoulders and donned a worn looking fedora. Depending on how the demon situation resolved itself, she might need to find another place to lurk. So she might as well gather her scant belongings.
The vampire made sure her desert fox was loaded, and that spare clips were readily available. Her throwing knives were ready to go. As were her metal claws. Jenna hooked the bladed bracers to her waist, ready to be donned at a moment's notice. With that, she exited her room to find the leader of the Mercenaries guild. She pulled some shadows about her, masking her form, and keeping some of the other patrons from seeing her properly. It wasn't true invisibility, but it made sneaking around much easier. Like trying to grasp fog.
Mavis was downstairs with some of the other Mercenaries employed under him. Jenna tromped toward him with all the haste she could muster in the crowded area. When she was within a few meters of the group, the vampire released her hold on the shadows, becoming clearly visible. She had arrived just in time for one of the drow mercenaries to question the scarred human. The drow woman looked familiar, but she hadn't been around for quite some time. Jenna waited silently, for the plan, not wishing to interrupt the conversation.
