Magical Girl RP- The First Trio

As any frequenter of the Theater may have seen, there is a Magical Girl-based roleplay in the Advanced Roleplay section. As our characters have slowly developed, I started working out the histories of the Magical girls that came before the group focused in the roleplay. These will be short stories featuring significant events in the history of this original trio, and not every Monster of the Day will be shown. Just a handful of events.

I'm doing this mostly out of boredom, really.

Name: Katheryne "Kat" Gill

Attacks: Magic Mist: A mist forms around Katheryne and anybody within ten feet of her. Only Katheryne can see through the mist, and it gives her great cover. It also heals wounds
Transformation Trinket: A blue brooch that seems to have a water droplet trapped inside it.
Alignment: Vilos
Physical Description: Katheryne looks, for lack of a better term, very asian, with almond eyes and straight, dark hair that she wears down. She dresses intellectually, in turtlenecks and ankle length skirts, and sensible loafers.
When transformed, she wears a blue minidress with a bubble skirt bottom, strappy sandals, and gloves that go all the way up her arms.
Mental/Personality Description: Katheryne is a very quiet person who keeps to herself most of the time. She loves her little sister and her parents dearly. She is a wealth of knowledge, and has a love of fantasy novels especially.
Distict Lived In: Heartsboro
School Attending: Heartsboro High School
Backstory: Katheryne moved all over the country because of her military father, and she became used to never really having time to really make friends. She spent most of her time reading and working on schoolwork and got a reputation as the "quiet, snobby one" wherever she went. Now that she is in Heartsboro to stay, she's going to try hard to break out of her usual quiet shell. She agreed to become a Magical Girl after a monster attacked her and her sister in the park.

Attacks: Ember Shot: Lolita closes her fists, and upon opening them, a flurry of small fireballs spreads across the area.
Transformation Trinket: A silver belt buckle with a fire motif on it.
Alignment: Vilos
Physical Description: Lolita has dark skin and dark brown hair a few inches past shoulder length that is very curly. She usually ties her hair back into a ponytail. She wears mostly loose jeans and hoodies that are hand-me-downs from her older brothers. Her shoes are always red trainers. She wears quite a few bangles on her arms, as well as a bulky watch.
When she transforms, she wears an orange-yellow top with short sleeves that flare upwards, and a skirt made of seperate triangular sections, each one a different fiery color. She continues wearing the trainers, but they get stilletto heels on them. Her hair smooths out and curls at the ends.
Mental/Personality Description: Lolita is a tomboyish girl with a "take no shit" kind of attitude. She is loud and aggressive, scaring quite a few people away with her brash manner at first. Once a person gets to know her, though, she proves to be a very trustworthy friend.

School Attending: Heartsboro High School
Backstory: Lolita is the youngest in a family of four, with three older brothers in front of her. She was always involved in whatever game they were playing, and grew up more like a boy than a girl. Her father was the high school lacrosse coach, and she has been involved in sports from an early age because of it. Most of her friends are male, and she has a hard time getting along with girls. The Vilos came to her after watching her performance on the field, and asked her if she was interested in becoming a Magical Girl. She agreed, seeing it as a new challenge to overcome.

Attacks: Cyclone Blade- Naomi raises her arm, gathering the wind around it. Upon shouting the attack name, she releases it with a slicing motion and a literally sharp wind blows at the enemy, slicing any natural material in its path.
Transformation Trinket: A silver ring with a single emerald in it.
Alignment: Vilos
Physical Description: Naomi is a flawless beauty, with long silky smooth blond hair and beautiful blue eyes. She keeps up a pretty intense maintenance regiment to keep herself looking that way. Her clothing is always the newest and most fashionable outfit on the shelves, and she loves flaunting it.
When transformed, she takes a more traditional Magical Girl costume, with a short, frilly green skirt and sailor dress kind of top. She also wears white stockings and knee-length green boots.
Mental/Personality Description: On the outside, Naomi seems like a rich bitch type. And most of the time, she keeps up that facade quite well. It's what the popular girls at Cecilia Blair expect of her, you know. When alone, she is actually a very gentle person that would rescue a spider from the bath, even though she can't stand spiders. When allowed to be herself with the magical girls, these two personalities find a happy balance.

School Attending: Cecilia Blair High School
Backstory: Naomi is the only child of a very wealthy heiress. Nobody knows where her father went, but she never really minded. She was (and still is) spoiled rotten by her mom, always getting the best of everything the moment it came out. She has a circle of good friends, and a ton of acquaintences and is one of the most popular girls at Cecilia Blair. The Vilos actually came to her to keep the Misus from having her, because she was a prime target for both factions. Once becoming a Magical Girl, she met her real friends...

The Original Trio- First Contact

Katheryne Gill had been to many new schools in the past, and became very used to leaving them after a year or so, only to move again. That's what happened when you had a military father. Because of this being her usual pattern, the thought of him retiring and her living in one place kind of weirded her out a bit. Despite this, she was determined to make Kentopolis her home.

"So... what do you think?" her father looked down at her as they stood in front of the cozy little house. Her mother and younger sister were on the other side.

"It's wonderful, dear!" her always-positive mother cooed, walking up the front path. "And only two blocks from your new school, Katheryne!" She looked over at her daughter with a wide grin on her face.

"Lovely... a new school." Katheryne humphed.

Her father put a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, dear. I'm sure you'll make new friends in no time."

Katheryne chose not to respond. Her dad was usually a very observant person, except when it came to his daughter's social life. She was lucky to have somebody give her a friendly glance, let alone be her friend. She was a very shy and quiet girl, and unfortunately people always took that as being a snob. Because of this, and the fact that she was constantly moving, she always had a hard time with making friends.

"Sis! I'm boo-ored!" Katheryne's six-year-old sister, Becky, tugged at her shirt sleeve. "Let's go exploring!"

Katheryne's mother smiled. "Now, that's a great idea! Kat, I hear there's a lovely park not too far from here. How about you and your sister go to the park while we discuss boring business stuff with the movers?"

"Yaay! The park park park!" Becky jumped up and down. Now Katherine knew that she had to go. She took her sister's hand and waved goodbye.

"Now make sure you're back by dark, you two!" Her father shouted as they walked down the street.

It took them a while to find the park, but they did make it there eventually. It was a pretty normal park, with a playground, a walking path, some woods, and a big field. Almost immediately, Becky let go of her sister's hand and ran for the playground. Smiling, Katheryne followed her and sat down on a bench nearby. As she watched her sister quickly befriend the other children there, though, she heard crashing sounds come from the woods nearby. Katheryne did her best to not go over there, knowing her sister had to be watched.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, as you may see it, the crashing sounds became louder and louder, until a large beast came barrelling out of the woods. Most of the parents ran to the playground, grabbing their children and fleeing from the scene. Katheryne was running that way, seeing Becky right in the path of the monster.

Where did the thing come from? In all of her traveling, she had never seen anything like that. It looked sort of like a minotaur from greek mythology, but with glowing red eyes and a vicious snarl on its lips. "Run!" She shouted to Becky, but the girl was frozen with fear. Seeing this, Katheryne grabbed a rock and tossed it at the beast. It bounced off of the beast's head and the hulking creature turned to face her. All of the sudden, she was paralyzed, as her sister had been.

As the beast charged in her direction, she heard the voice of another girl. "Ember shot!" A flurry of small fireballs shot towards the creature and hit. Roaring, it turned to face the new assailant, who was a dark skinned girl with a strange-looking costume on. "You two should run! I'll take care of it from here!" She shouted.

Not hesitating for a moment, Katheryne grabbed Becky's hand and ran.

After a little bit of conversing, Katheryne managed to persuade Becky into not telling their parents about what happened in the park. There was no way they were moving again. And she wanted to find out more about that strange girl that could throw fireballs. Hopefully she could learn more about her tomorrow. It was her first day of school, after all...

The Original Trio- A Change of Heart

"I knew that you had it in you, Viola..." Malygris was obviously impressed. "But I never thought you'd be able to capture one of the Vilos girls." He glanced over at their now becoming concious captive. "Wonderful job."

As Katheryne woke up, she had a hard time figuring out what she was. As she tried to get up, though, she realized that she couldn't move. And every time that she tried to, she felt tired and drained.

Malygris strode over to the Magical Girl. "I would suggest not struggling. Currently, you are being bound with a dark magic that drains your energy every time you move. Continue like that, and you might not be with us any more. Not that Viola and I would mind that." He smirked.

As Viola looked down at the immobile girl, she couldn't help but wish this would have ended differently. Watching her die slowly was no fun at all. Especially when she wasn't the one causing it.

"So... Malygris looked over at Viola. "You want to be the one who ends her life?" He stepped aside, with a sweeping gesture of his arm. "Very well then."

At Malygris's invitation, Viola transformed and started forming a ball of lightning with her hands. Usually, it wasn't strong enough to kill anyone, but with Katheryne in her weakened state, it would be more than enough to end her. She looked down at the magical girl, who was giving her a pleading look, as if trying to tell her mentally to stop. As she looked into her, she felt something well up inside her. Despite being part of the Misus, she had never actually killed a person. Transformed them into horrible monsters, made their lives difficult, but never killed. Something about the act of ending another's life when actually performed seemed, well, wrong. She couldn't bring herself to do it.

"Well... what are you waiting for? Kill her!" Malygris had a hint of impatience in his voice.

Before she could respond, the door was blasted open by a gust of wind. As was almost expected,Lolita and Naomi had come to rescue their teammate. "Give us back our friend, Malygris!" Lolita shouted to him.

The Misus took his focus off of Viola and turned it towards the intruders. "And why should we do that? With what my magic has done on her, she will never be as strong as she used to be. It would be better to just let her fall. You'll end up spending more time protecting her than performing your duties."

This time Naomi spoke up. "So? She's our friend, and will remain so, no matter how weak she becomes. We refuse to let her die!"

Viola stood between Malygris and the magical girls, with a ball of lightning in her hands. She looked at the Vilos girls, then Malygris, then back at the Vilos girls, and then finally down at the lightning ball.

And then Viola did something that nobody foresaw, not even her.

She threw the ball of lightning at Malygris, the flash making his eyes tear up instantly. Due to the lack of concentration, the binds on Katheryne were released.

Naomi and Lolita looked at Viola with shocked expressions. Viola glared back at them. "Take her and get out of here. That flash should blind him for about a minute."

"But... why did you do that?" Naomi asked, vocalising everybody's thoughts.

"Get out of here. NOW!" She shouted, looking down at her hands, still unable to figure out exactly why she did it.

Choosing not to ask any more questions, the girls took their companion and left.

Viola ran out a little later.
