| As I sit here typing, there is someone outside of my house. I don't know if they are in my yard or waiting for a neighbor. All I know is that the sound of their radio is making my house vibrate and irritating my ear drums. I cannot personally stand this.
I have heard people with their radios so loud that it makes their trunk vibrate in such a way that you would think they had Raptors trying to escape from their card. Heck, even my brother does that crap. I was in the middle of Wal-Mart shortly after I graduated, and he had the music in his SUV as high as it would go. I was in the middle of the store and he was on the other side of the parking lot. The sound of his radio was making Wal-Mart vibrate. We did not know that it was him until we came out of the store and he told us as much.
It was insanity. Do people not realize that they will make themselves go deaf by listening to music that loud? Do they not realize that they could be damaging the ears of their passengers or people that may be standing NEAR the car when they play it that loud.
So, discuss:
What do you think of insanely loud music?
Do you play it loud?
Do you like to make peoples houses vibrate from the sound of your music?

| I don't listen to music very often, and when I do, I have to play it quietly. Otherwise, I get a headache.
And it honestly pisses me off when people play their music really loudly or whenever they watch TV with the volume on max. It's just rude and inconsiderate of anyone else in the area. You're not deaf... yet. It doesn't need to be blaring.

| i can stand loud music to an extent, but i am quite an irritable person so there are times when i want everything around me to be quiet XD loud music has its place at nightclubs and bars, gigs/concerts/festivals and house parties, and in cars if youre on the move or not around anyone to disturb.
really my peeve with music is when people play it on their shitty mobile phone speakers at top volume. IT SOUNDS CRAP, NO MATTER WHAT YOURE PLAYING. STFU OR GTFO.

| I don't mind music being painfully loud in certain circumstances, such as concerts, but if it's just in the car or around the house or such, it needs to be turned down and kept to a level tolerable for everyone else, no matter what kind of music it is.
Also, as far as parties go, if you're in an apartment, please respect your neighbors. Some of us aren't the partying type and would rather try to get some sleep than endure that racket. I speak from experience here.
I'm still partially deaf in my right ear from a big concert yesterday, which I thoroughly enjoyed, but I wouldn't want to force that on anyone else simply because it's rude and they may not want to risk their hearing quite so much. I've never really understood the fascination some people seem to have with wanting to blast their music at such insanely high levels.

| I can understand certain situations, and I enjoy playing my music a little on the loud side when I am on the highway.
As far as the tv thing goes, I constantly have to ask my husband to turn it down. He tends to play it a little on the loud side and I can't stand that. Of course I don't blame him either. Some of the shows we watch are quiet, and others are loud. He just doesn't think to change the volume.
Of course, I grew up around my father playing everything really loud so that may be why I prefer the quiet. He is very hard of hearing. Of course, he has resorted to Closed Caption for most things because he just can't understand some of what's being said. It's good in the long run because it doesn't make everyone else deaf as well.

| when it comes to the TV, the problem is the adverts. we'll have the TV at a moderate volume, not quiet because i find it hard to understand speech (its weird, i have perfect hearing but i always mishear speech for some reason) but not too loud, but as soon as it cuts to the advert break SUDDENLY YOURE BEING SHOUTED AT.
it should be illegal to change the sound levels that bloody much. pisses me off.

| Yeah, that is something that really annoys me as well. They do that because they know that people are getting up and going to get snakes or whatever, and they don't want them to miss out on some "great deal". It's idiotic and I wish that they would stop doing it.

| When at club (or going to club), I LOVE my music a little on the loud side. If I'm listening it to myself, I listen to it at a volume that's low for loud, but high for quiet. That lovely somewhat loud but not level. You know what I'm talking about.
Other people, though, I cannot take. I sound hypocritical, I know, but if I'm too loud, I will turn it down. When others don't have that courtesy it angers me a little.

| I think that is the case with most people.
I sometimes play my music loud, and it's fine to me. Normally that's only when I'm cleaning up around the house though. It's loud inside of the house, but you would not be able to hear it outside of the house.

| I can't stand loud music.
When I'm on the dancefloor on rare occasion, it's okay, but when I'm in a bar or something and the music is so loud people have to shout, I can barely hear.
It's and ADHD-thing, if there is music (or any noise) on in the background and it's so high it might give a normal person just a teensy tiny bit of a problem fully comprehending what is being said, it gives me 5x that.
I'm sick of explaining it to people, so I just tell people I have a bad hearing.
Also, like someone else ere said, even though I have a good hearing, I can't make out speech very well.
So if I'm in a car and the other person insists on playing loud music, they shouldn't expect to talk to me.
This is also why nightclubs are boring for me. I can't silent-language very well, I can't read lips, and I can't hear what people are saying.
I think it's very selfish of people to play loud music in their cars. There are some guys in my neighbourhood who keeps doing it. Every fucking friday and saturday after midnight, they drive around with their bass on max volume and play thumping, loud, brainless music.
Do they not realise that they wake people up?
I mean, WHY do people play such loud music in their cars? Do they not know? (in which case must means they've got some sort of retardation), or do they simply not care?
How can someone be so selfish?
I don't like loud TV/PC either.
My brother and my dad LOVE to have the bass set on max on the TV and watch some war-movie on full blast.
If I complain, they just tell me that my ADHD makes me hypersensitive and irritable, and that the sound is half the adventure.
skfjhsljhfakgs, khngsdl, fgn, dng pisses me off every time!
I enjoy playing games and watching TV as much a the next guy, but RATTATTATTATTAT or CHUNK UGH ARGH UGH CHUNK SLAP DUNK is not noises I need to hear on full blast.

| Having my headphones on I often turn the volume very high (my headphones can't go really loud though, just enough so I don't hear my environment).
But without headphones, like e.g. when I turn on radio or TV, I often turn the volume very low because I don't want to upset anyone and because when I was younger I always turned the volume as low as possible and I am used to still understand everything then....
I also hate those guys that sit in the car and have their radio on so loud, that the surrounding vibrates. I also don't go in discos because I can't stand the feeling of the loud bass. It always feels like my heart would get out of rythm, andy maybe it really does...^^

| I can't stand it when people play their music as load as possible when they're in their cars, it's just totally disrespectful. Another thing that I hate is when people are listen to an iPod or MP3 player but have the music on full volume that you can clearly hear the lyrics from across the other side of the room. And yeah I can't stand the TV being really loud, when I'm alone I often keep lowering it until it's barely audible.
If I listen to music on my iPod I often keep it really low if I can as I find that listening through headphones is really irritating. Although whenever I play the music on my computer I prefer to have it somewhat loud.
Another thing that I hate is when people rev their cars or bikes and just race up and down the street for no apparent reason. This really irks me for 3 reasons; usually it is before midday and late at night when people are trying to sleep, it often happens almost every weekend non-stop, and the huge amount of fuel they must waste doing such pointless actions must affect the environment (Yeah I'm a bit of an Eco-Warrior).

| I play my music loud if I have my headphones on otherwise I don't play it very loud at all if I even play my music without my headphones. I am very weird I suppose.
I hate people that play there music so loud that it shakes the ground and building your walking in that they are driving past and makes there cars sound like they are about to rattle apart.
