I hope this is in the right place. And I haven't seen any hobby type threads around so I figured I would make one.

So as the title suggests one of my hobbies that I like to do when I have the time is well chain mail. Be it jewelry or shirts for cons or larps (Live action Role plays). I am still working on my jewelry style. I am a much better chain shirt maker than jewelry but I am improving as time goes on and the more I make. A lot of what I make right now has been mainly for myself since A: I don't really have the time to make for others at the moment and B: because I haven't been making them as often as I used to my style is slacking.

A few other hobbies I have is making candles and soaps. I like making these a little bit more than making chain mail because the work isn't as tedious and you don't lose much of any material.

I sometimes make my own chain links which is very time consuming. When you pull the twists wire off the mandrel or dowel rod and start to cut the links you have to be very careful to choose the rite wire cutters other wise you cause your links to fly and finding them can be hard especially when you do it outside on your third floor apartments balcony heh heh.

So I guess I am asking whats your hobby if any and what do you think about mine?

I admire you for paying so much attention to detail.

Hobbies? I guess doing aesthetic html/css coding and writing. I don't really have any talents.

I didn't think I would have the talent that I do at this stuff. But one day at hobby lobby I saw a candle making kit and soap making kit and picked them up saying hey this is neat I'll try it. The chain mail came from me having used to be in a Larp group and they needed chain mail for some stuff so I got a guide on how to make it got some supply's and got started. It was hard at first but once I got used to it it became quite fun and well profitable as well.

Also on the detail I have a bad habit of feeling the need to have to explain what I mean when I say or type something so I can get long winded because of it lol.

I meant the detail with chainmail. XD It seems like a really tedious process to me; I wouldn't be able to do it.

Oh yeah it is quite a tedious task hence the reason I usually buy my links already cut and made now from a few supply site online. costs a bit more but takes less time to make what your trying to make.

I used to have,a link somewhere to a site that had a step by step process but I have lost it and that was the only way I could properly explain it too because it had pictures and everything I will have to dig out my guidebook at some point and take some pictures of that to explain.

My hobbies revolve around films... i love animated films especially Smile but for the last year i've made a few student films in groups and its been really fun. im not studying film anymore but it is a course at the uni im going to, so im hoping i can still get involved in it a little bit when im there ^-^

Chainmail? That sounds AWESOME!

My favorite hobby lately has been creating... well, anything RPG-related. I have two one-shots and a big campaign I'm working on for D&D, as well as a game system that I'm working on.

Hobby? Well, avatar-based forum sites are my hobby. XD And reading. If it's just talent-based hobbies we're talking about, I think it would be baking?

I like to draw, read, write, play games. Nothing so spectacular as making chainmail. That would be interesting to take up, but I just don't have the patients for something like that.

It's alright, though, because I bet what you make is awesome! And I love what I do.

I don't have any current pics of any of my work that I have done. I wish I dis but an ex of mine took several of my things when he moved off to texas with another girl. I think my camera with those pics was one of them which sucks. When I can get on my comp I will find the link to the guide website so you all can have a general understanding of how it works for different styles of chain and such I have a pic of on thing of jewlry I am working on on my Facebook I'll link that latter.

Also this is just for any hobbies I guess I can change the title if needs be

Here's the only picture I have of something current that I am still working on its a majong tile choker or it will be if I ever complete it. Its not really chain mail as much as it is just wire right now when complete it will have small chain mail diamond embellishments but I haven't worked on it in a while because I have been quite busy.

Ok apparently face book is a tard and won't allow a link to my picture but I have seen other people link just one pic from there Valery before arrgg. Ok I will have to take a pic of it with my real camera and upload it from there probably get a better quality shot anyway. Sorry for the delay.
