Smithlake was a small town lost in the middle of nowhere, with a population just above 500 souls, and that was including the many farms that stretched on the nearby plains. A large wood also surrounded the town, making it almost unnoticeable from the highways passing nearby. The town itself was like most small towns. A small restaurant, a general shop, a gaz station with a garage and the mayor's office occupied the four corners of the only real intersection in town. Then came the usual small houses, local school and graveyard. Though it could looked boring to outsiders, the citizens of Smithlake loved their little peaceful community like it was and wouldn't have changed it for anything.

Adam Lions was driving down the highway, without any specific purpose. Well, yes, he had one. He wanted to get away from where he was before, but that was another story. Adam was driving an old black convertible car, one hand on the steering wheel, the other on the side of his door, the wind passing through his short hair and his sunglasses masking his eyes. A tan skin covered by a white t-shirt and a pair of jeans, along with a black leather coat and a pair of old shoes completed his outfit. Though he was almsot 40 years old, he was still in a good shape. The man had been lost in his thoughts for most of the route, but, passing beside a panel announcing an upcoming town, he looked down at the essence meter. He was in the middle of nowhere and he knew it would be long before he founded another place to restock. With an heavy sigh, he turned at the first exit and headed down to the village of Smithlake, wondering what kind of place it was.
