Naldon gestured to the bed. 'You can take that. I've got spare blankets; I can sleep on the floor.'

'Thank you,' said Elizabeth. She lay down on the bed. This would be the first time she had slept in he same room with a commoner.

Naldon lay out a blanket and a cushion from the chair to make himself a bed. He lay down and pulled the blanket up, glancing at where Elizabeth lay. He hesitated, then said, 'Good night, princess.'

'...Gooed night.' Slowly, the princess fell asleep.

Naldon didn't drop off so easily. He was nervous about sleeping in the same room as the princess; the slaves had never been allowed. Eventually, he fell into an uneasy sleep. He was awake at dawn that morning, had replaced the blanket and pillow, and left the room quietly to start on his work.

Rumours and gossip spread like wild-fire in this town, and so did the news that the princess was starting a rebellion. Several villagers sneaked off into the woods where she was supposedly amassing forces, and came back affirming their suspicions. The soldiers clearly were not allowed to be whispered a word about this. The smithies were working twice as hard and ordering metals, a restlessness had grown over the village. Those that left the village told the news to other towns, and so on. And all the time the king had no idea.

Naldon, for his part, encouraged the rumours Princess Elizabeth was in the forest - it made it less likely people would think she was in the inn. The inn was getting more business as people came from neighbouring towns to discuss the rumours, which was more convenient, as it meant the innkeeper was less likely to notice some extra food going missing for Elizabeth or the fact that Naldon was taking extra breaks. He checked in on Elizabeth regularly.

Elizabeth smiled when she heard from Naldon the rumours. She had certainly gotten him to do several things for her around town, which was good. The evening sun shone through the window of the room she was staying in. She opened her rucksack and took out the sword (which, somehow had managed to fit in it).

Naldon opened the door, a tray in his hands. It bore Elizabeth's meal on it. He nearly dropped the tray when he saw the sword, and hurried to close the door behind him. 'Princess...'

'Ah, thank you,' she said, putting the sword on the bed, making sure it was secure in its sheath.

Naldon came over, holding out the tray. He looked at the sword on the bed, still in shock.

Elizabeth took the tray, her lips slightly pursed. She wasn't used to having people show interest in what she did, as they were usually servants that did as they were told and no more. Oh well, she'd have to get used to this.

Naldon caught himself staring and looked away quickly. He walked to the chair at the other end of the room and sat down.

She ate her lunch quickly. 'I must be going. I've got a few more errands to run,' she said.

(Dinner ^^ It's evening.)

'You're sure, Princess?' Naldon couldn't help but ask her.
