As we all know, the internet has made it easy for us all to access all kinds of information and share all kinds files. We know that there is a lot of complaint about the music and film industries losing profits because of people illegally downloading media.
My opinion? Taking something for free doesn't feel right, unless the owner is offering their product for free. If it's in a shop (IRL or online) with a price tag, I feel it only fair to pay for this product/service. If I can't afford something - I will just wait and save up.
Also... Please don't discuss how to get free games/music/song/software/etc downloads here. It could get Midorea into trouble.
I sometimes download things for free. music, anyway. though mostly i get my music from my friends, which presumably is also illegal.
but, there is no entertainment store in my town, so i cant just go out and buy music in the shops. and i refuse to pay for a download of music, because if im gonna pay my good money for something, i want a hard copy of it that i can hold in my hands!
Lately I've been buying more of my movies/shows on DVD/Amazon on Demand or watching stuff on Crunchyroll instead of downloading them.(but this is also because I crashed my computer last time I tried to download episodes) Though it really irritates me when they ask 38$ for one season of a show, like for season 1 of fullmetal it's 38$. =/ I can get the DVDs for season 1 ALLOT cheaper than that on ebay.
And when it comes to music, I buy it on IMVU. It's not cheap, but I'm a developer there so I have tons of credits coming in every month and I gotta spend them on something. But they don't have most of the songs I want, so usually I just end up downloading most of my music.
Speaking of music, iTunes is just ridiculous in terms of price.(especially their shows)
I don't buy anything from them, and I never will.
