Testing a Hello

I've just started with this site. I found it due to an add somewhere that looked interesting. So far this site seems a little interesting. It seems that you get most of your money by posting. And longer posts seem to generate more money. I don't know if there is any abuse protection in this system. I guess I'll find out sometime soon. The combat system included in this site also looks interesting though I have yet to explore that much. Unfortunatly I missed the reroll button on my character when I initially created her, so it looks like she's stuck with some crappy stats. I may scrap her eventually. Maybe she'll get eaten by a bug bear. I'll see what this post gives me as a reward and then maybe she'll get some clothes. Maybe I'll talk with some of you later.

Wow it looks like I was right about the longer the post the more silver you get for it. I've still yet to figure out how to generate copper or gold but again I think that is something that I will discover over time, possibly sometime today.

Anyways, please don't feel like you need to read this entire post. Mostly I'm just rambling on to see just what kinds of bonuses I get for long posts but still post something real. I would hate to be abusing the rules of this site. It's never fun ticking admins off all kinds of nasty things seem to happen.

Please do however feel free to say hello.

I have not as of yet discovered if there are any gift giving options in this site or a market but I would gladly accept any donations. Or are there any options to steal things from people. I did pick the thief class afterall. I guess that only matters though for the combat system.

I guess though as well that since my character is evil braking the rules of the forum may infact be considered role playing and thus not a violation of the rules if such a rule exists. Ok now I'm just getting into circular logic. Bad idea. Or do you call that fuzzy logic. I guess I had better go get a dictionary.

You can find out more about the currency here. Silver you get from posting in most forums, but some forums, like the Fun n Games section, give you copper. You have to pay for gold.

Anyways I did engage in battle with nothing but the skin on my back. Here's what happened.

My first day with Midorea continues.

I was getting pretty tired of looking at my nude avatar. I had managed to get to the dressing screen multiple times before. I never could seem to find any clothes to put on her. Atleast I wasn't able to figure it out my first couple of times looking over that page. I did see plenty of titles for various clothing sections but there was no indicators for links or anything to click on there was only text. It wasn't until much later that I did discover that something happens when you click on the text. Unfortunately by this time I had already purchased some basic clothing fo my avatar and had spent nearly every of my long hard earned silver. Oh well.

I stopped by the newbie shop and finally picked up a weapon. I know I don't have enough silver yet to buy a proper weapon, but I figured that I had to have enough copper to get a basic POS weapon, that had to be better than my bare hands that couldn't even take down a measly scarecrow.

Well I start the combat. I end up fighting a bumblebee this time. I had higher basic stats but half the life of the scarecrow.

My forum post grinding continues as I guess does my endless ranting. So far it seems the max I seem to be able to net from a single posting is 100 silver. I guess that's a good thing in truth. Otherwise you do tend to attract some spam posters. Hopefully my blog style posting is avoiding the definition of spam whether or not you find all of this boring would be a personal matter.

Overal I seem to find this to be an intersting site but potentialy in need of polish. There's small things such as my sandals not matching my avatars feet, and the last lines of posts being cut off, but then again that may just be a browser specific issue.

Anyhow, my quest to make adventuring a profitable venture continues.

So on with the long posts. I guess this is my shortest one for a while.

I think I may have found some answers to my combat woes unfortunatly I need about 3 more super long posts before I can begin to act on them. You see I found that there are basic weapons available starting at 500 silver which is cool. They do 700% more damage than the basic newbie weapon.

There is some decent starter armor too starting at 100 silver bur unfortunatly the durability is so low that unless you've got a decent starter weapon you'll burn through a piece of armor per battle. And at the payout of 16 silver per battle for a beginner well you'll be broke in no time going that route. Especially considering that a basic begineers battle with a newbie weapon can easily take 30 rounds to completion. At least that's what it would take with my current experience level.

Man though this posting system espeacilly to help you get started really increases the desire to spam, but I won't do it, no I won't. I may ramble a bit in my blog here but no spaming of useless trash.

I'm guessing now at the current lenght of this post it's worthy of atleast 50 silver. Come on 500 silver. Maybe then combat will be profitable.

I was wrong about my last post it netted me a whopping 75 silver. Yeah.


So only 190 more to go. ugh...

And then I'll have to come up with enough for armor, Double Ugh...

I think I'm about done for my silver questing today. so maybe I'll write again tomorrow if I feel up to it. yawn....

Ok I guess maybe I am a bit addicted to this site a my quest for a basic weapon. I've been exploring the forums I'm not finding much in the way of techie talk though. Maybe I've just missed the tech forum. I'll have to go and look again. On the positive side though this post may be the one to finaly allow me to get my new weapon. A brand new crow bar that no thief should be without. I guess I had better just post this and see.

Well I finally got my weapon and decided to go to battle. And guess what. My Brand new shiny crowbar isn't an option that I can use.

At least I got to face off against my old adversary the scarecrow you can see the pathetic battle blow by blow below.

Ok, I guess I got my penalty for not ready enough. to use the stupid drow bar I have to be at least a level 4. With my current equipment though that's a very long ways off.

I guess I'm going to have to start saving up yeat again. I did find the french fry has a decent attack and no level restrictions. I'm getting so tired of trying to get somewhere with this battle system.

Be careful with the posting thing though. You don't want to look like you're spamming, which is against the rules of Midorea. And for that reason, I'd suggest putting your battle summary in quote...

Anyway, yeah, the maximum amount of silver you can earn per post is 100, and 20 for copper I think.

Maybe you should restart your character... I mean, since you look like you want to use weapons, I'd suggest recreating a character with the highest strength possible (16 at least). Then picking a class with a good amount of HP (fighter's the best, but anything over 25 should be ok for now). And finally, buy a volleyball. It costs 5 silver and has a long duration, a really lame attack, but that doesn't matter for now. And when you have enough money, try to buy one of the past events weapons. There's a couple with 8 attack, which is about the most a weapon can have, and they are generally way cheaper than the weaponsmith weapon. Or buy a tenro (9 attack, 75 duration, 2000 silver at the weaponsmith).
