| So there I was, on her couch, having just been named 'indirect hang(wo)man'.
It all started when I went to look. I just wanted to have a look!
She let me in, and after a little chit-chat introduced me to two of the potential victims.
I lifted one up, and then the other. They were both beautiful in their very own way.
I wasn't even planning to take one of them, but I felt bad for the poor things.
She told me to take my time to choose one, to get to know them. I responded with "I'm still not completely sure I should... How long do I have to make up my mind?"
Her response was what temporarily put me in the position of having to decide what life would be taken.
She told me I had until morning, because she had an appointment then to have whichever one I didn't take, put to sleep. "I can't keep them any longer", she told me.
I tried to tell myself they were not my responsibility, I tried to remind myself that I was not obligated to do anything, it was not my responsibility that she was moving away...
I decided to take one. "If I can't afford it" I thought to myself, "I at least have the time to find it a proper home, and that way at least one of them will live."
I looked at them both. Reached my hands out to them, tried to get to know them. I tried to find out which of the two I thought I wanted the most, but I couldn't do it.
I could not decide what life to spare, because I did not want to doom the other.
I tried to fight it, but my heart had already made up its mind as well as taken control over my mouth, and I heard myself utter the words "I think I'll take both."
Half an hour later, all the arrangements and preparations were done, and I was now the owner of two 9-weeks-old female kittens. After much thought and consideration, I decided to name then Luna & Freyja.
I know, I know, I am ever so irresponsible for doing this, after all, I will be moving across the country in two years with no security of finding a cat-friendly apartment.
Fuck you. At least this way they don't have to die.
I don't mean to be tootin' my own horn here, but I do consider myself to be a fairly good cat-owner.
Despite not bothering to teach them not to crawl on the table, I and very sure that if/when the time comes to give them away, whoever takes them will now be the owner of two loving and healthy cats; I will do my best to ensure this. (And also to ensure that they go to a good home.)
They are both really adorable little girls, and though I have only known them for a few days; I am already starting to notice their personalities.
Freyja is the explorer. She is very curious, and loves to try/discover new things. She is the most active of the two, and also the one who likes to cuddle the most. She loves to test out how high she can jump, what things can be chewed, and of course - her sister's bondaries when they have one of their 100 daily play-fights. Freyja is also the first one of the two to greet me at the door, and the first one to come to me when I call their names.
Luna is also very affectionate, but she is a little more held back. She is the quieter (or is it 'more quiet'?) of the two, and although she's not more afraid than Freyja; she is a little more reluctant to try things. Whilst Freyja dives into things without much of a wait, Luna seems to enjoy more of an observer kind of role. Although she is taking a little longer than her sister to accept all my attempts to cuddle and scratch her, I can tell that she is starting to feel an affection for me.
Like humans, cats have 'personal spaces'. And, like us humans, those spaces are of different size depending on the personality. Some love being held and tummy-rubbed, others enjoy being scratched behind the ears. Some wants as much physical affection as they can get, whilst others
Both Luna & Freyja are still getting used to my company, as I am to theirs. They both let me invade their personal space a little more each day, and they have also started to initiate cuddles with me.
They learned their way around the house very fast, and lucky for me (and my carpet-floor), they were already housebroken.
They already seen pretty comfortable here, and they both seem to have places they prefer to sleep.
Luna prefers to sleep on the backside of the backpack I use for transporting my laptop. If it is because it's soft, not too high up, or because of the fact that it provides good camouflage for her and her black fur is something I'll never know.
Freyja prefers the chair we call "Oldemorstolen" (The great-granmother chair). I think it's because it has a dent (culp?) in the middle, created by literally generations of asses.
Their dynamic as siblings is also interesting. I love watching cats, especially kittens, interact.
When one of them finds something interesting, the other usually observes for a little while before joining the fun.
Sometimes the other kitten just chooses to watch.
They have this game where they sloooowly sneak up on the other and intiate a round of tumbling/playfighting. I love watching those two play, if it wasn't for my job and food'n stuff, I'd do it all day.
Another interesting phenomenon I have observed in the two is that even if one of them has decided she's had enough of me and starts doing her own thing, as soon as I pick the other one up, she will start to meow jealously until I pet her too (which in return causes the first kitten to meow as well).
They also don't seem to like to be separated for too long, and I have seen and heard them search for each other when they have been in separate rooms for too long.
I don't have anything more to say that anyone would want to read, so I'm just going to stop now before I go into a long rant about how incredibly cute they are.
Good night, whoever reads this.

| Ah lucky. I have been wanting more cats so badly lately (I have a ten year old maine coon named Cleo). I haven't gotten any more since I plan on moving out within the next two-three years and pet-friendly apartments here are either a) insanely expensive or b) kind of gross.
I probably would had taken them in too quite frankly, and look at it this way, you'll have at least two happy years with the kitties and they'll be safe, loved and well cared for.
Good luck with Luna and Freyja, they sound adorable.
Also, could you maybe post some pictures of the new little darlings?
