Lower Level Monster: Bomb

Name: Bomb.
Level: Bronze for smaller, juvenile bombs, Silver for fully grown.
Habitat: Mountain/Forest/Beach/Cave.
Element: Fire/Ice.
Frequency: Common.
Intelligence: Low.
Danger level: Yellow for juveniles, Orange for fully grown; higher for both if not educated in Bomb behaviour. (Not too dangerous for students in the school as they are taught how to deal with them.)
Description: Bombs are large, floating orbs with arms, a spiky head and a permanent devilish grin upon their faces. They come in two varieties, Fire and Ice, both being of colours resembling these Elements: red/orange and light blue. They can use magic attacks based on their Element and when striking physically one will also be affected by the fiery/icy feel of their bodies, though only mildly in comparison to magical attacks.
Bombs will often appear together in small groups, but usually not larger than five, and not much is known about their social habits. To the unknowing fighter Bombs can be very deadly though, as the longer you fight them the more dangerous they become, every once in a while increasing the size of their body until eventually they explode, doing large amounts of damage to people in the surrounding area. If a bomb is fully grown it is able to even kill those it has engaged in battle with this way. In a fight with Bombs it is important to destroy them as soon as possible, and if they are other monsters it is recommended the Bomb is the first thing you take care of.
Until taming them it was unknown as to whether they died upon exploding, using it as a kamikaze attack, but after using them to fight with it was discovered that although they look like they disappear upon explosion they in fact use it as an opportunity to escape; when their body swells up it is with magic of their Element, and when they 2explode" they discharge a large amount of their power that is built up inside their bodies, using it as a cover to get away. This leaves them smaller than their natural size until they build up their magical energy once again, and also weak, so it is a last way out of a fight.

Lower Level Monster: Cockatrice

Name: Cockatrice.
Level: Gold.
Habitat: Forest/Cave/Mountain.
Element: Darkness, Fire, Rock, Flying.
Frequency: Extremely rare.
Intelligence: Above average.
Danger level: Red.
Description: The Cockatrice is a large rooster-like monster with a lizards tail and large, demonic wings. It is extremely deadly and will attack unprovoked. They often lurk in the deepest, darkest places in forests or caves, and can kill at a glance, turning their victim to stone. They are also able to breath fire.
They are the size of a small car, incredibly fast and very strong. They are always found alone, never in groups and only through extremely strict taming, great knowledge of the creature and personal skill can one ever hope to tame a Cockatrice. Of course, you'd also have to find one too, as they are a very rare and very deadly to obtain monster.
It is thought that only fools go in search of one; in fact, it is thought that only fools dare not to avoid such a terribly monster.

Lower Level Monster: Cyclops

Name: Cyclops. The plural being Cylopes, pronounced: s-eye-clow-peez, but more commonly, though incorrectly, they are referred to as "Cyclopses".
Level: Gold.
Habitat: Mountain/Cave/Forest.
Element: Earth.
Frequency: Rare.
Intelligence: Above average to perhaps even Brilliant.
Danger level: Yellow.
Description: Cyclopes are giant humanoids that possess only one eye in the middle of their heads. However, unlike Ogres, they are not necessarily violent monsters. Seen as the "gentle giants" of the monster races, Cyclopes live peacefully in small to medium sized communities, usually higher up in the mountains. They live rather civilised lives, not unlike most of the races of higher intelligence, getting on with their lives happily. They are seen as essentially being lesser intelligent humans/humanoid beings who live in a way reminiscent of how other races used to live. They lead simple lives, hunting, searching for a mate and creating a family.
They do not have their own language, instead communicating non-verbally like animals. They are a non-magic-using race who rely on physical skill in battle, and upon encountering a Cyclops, unless you threaten, anger or in any other way give them reason not to trust you, they will not resort to violence, allowing you to continue with your business as humans would do upon seeing an animal passing by. They are kind monsters who will usually help you if you find yourself in trouble, and if injured more often than not care for you until you are able to be on your way, again not unlike humans would treat an animal.

Lower Level Monster: Doll

Name: Dolls.
Level: Bronze.
Habitat: Anywhere humans can be found.
Element: None.
Frequency: Common.
Intelligence: Low.
Danger level: Green.
Description: Dolls are small man-made critters. They are composed of a body (the actual doll) and an enchanting parchment placed either on or inside them. Dolls are generally less than two feet tall and made of soft materials, though their look can vary a lot. Due to their composition, they are usually pretty weak, their strength being equivalent to the one of a young child at max. They will answer only to the commands of the person whose name is written on the enchantment parchment. They have a very low intelligence on their own. The enchantment parchment used to make them usually have a limited lifespan, meaning that a doll will need to be re-enchanted after some time or it will return to its usual non-animated state. Dolls can be created and upgraded by crafters.

Lower Level Monster: Dragon

Name: Dragon.
Level: Gold/Platinum.
Habitat: Mountain/Cave/Forest/Mire/Jungle/Lake (living nearby).
Element: Every Element, varies from Dragon to Dragon.
Frequency: Not common.
Intelligence: Brilliant.
Danger level: Red/Black.
Description: Dragons are giant, (more often than not) winged reptiles. They can live to very great ages and come in every single Elemental type available. There is essentially, a Dragon for everything. They vary in size, strength, intelligence and ability, but the strongest are of a very, very high level in everything. They are extremely dangerous creatures as well a lot of the time. Every Dragon has a unique personality, but some types are more prone to certain behaviour. Some types are easily angered, violent and very deadly, but others are calm, peaceful and pacifistic creatures. Greatly revered for their power, Dragons are seen as a symbol of strength, intelligence and even nobility throughout the land. There are many people who have dedicated their lives to these monsters.

Lower Level Monster: Dryad

Name: Dryad.
Level: Silver.
Habitat: Forest/Field.
Element: Earth/Plant, Healing. Considered Undead/Psychic/Holy by some (see description for details).
Frequency: Not common/Rare.
Intelligence: Average.
Danger level: Green.
Description: Dryads are often considered spirits of young women that inhabit trees, however there is dispute over whether this is true or not. Some believe that they are simply Plant type monsters with possibly Psychic or Holy abilities. Some even go so far as to say they are lower deities, perhaps the daughters of Gods of nature, so whether they are classed as Psychic, Holy and/or Undead varies from text to text. They are however universally considered to be Plant or Earth types, along with Healing.
They are playful, mischievous creatures that, due to the aforementioned disagreements between people, either live within the tree or are the tree itself. You often hear rather than see them, and the most common sounds are playful and energetic laughter, soft singing, or noises of curiosity when passing through. They tend to live in peaceful and/or Holy forests, along with places known for being supposedly "haunted", though whether this is with actual Ghosts or just Dryads mistaken for Ghosts is unknown in most cases.
They don't speak English, and their songs are often just melodies rather than lyrical. They are very shy creatures and it is rare to see one in the form that causes so much disagreement. They simply appear as any normal plant, usually a tree, and it is very hard to tell which one is them, as they are very rarely alone in an area. If you do catch sight of one of them, they appear in a somewhat Ghostly, transparent form of a young woman, either naked (but with no visible nipples or genitalia) or with clothes that seem to be a part of them. They come in a variety of colours, shades of green, brown and/or grey being the most common, and other colours being related to their plant, for example, if the tree has a pink blossom the Dryad may appear pink in colour also. They also sometimes change colour depending on the season, for example the previously mentioned Dryad of a pink blossomed tree may only appear pink in spring/summer when the blossoms are on her tree, remaining brown, green or grey the rest of the year. If you do catch sight of them they will most often hide away again very swiftly, though if they don't see you as too much of a threat, they may engage you in a playful game, allowing you to see them just enough to try follow them and find them, like a game of Hide and Seek.
It is rare to see a Dryad away from her plant, and it depends on the type as to whether they can survive without one, or whether they can actually shape-shift from girl to plant. Some have to remain in their location, tied to their plant and unable to stray too far from it, whereas others who are their own plant at the same time are free to roam around, though they are unlikely to go outside of their forest homes.
If keeping a Dryad as a companion, if she is not her own plant then you must take her plant or a part of it and keep it with you, as she is tied to it. It is rare, but has been known for a Dryad who has lost a plant to take to another one.
They primarily use Earth and Plant magic, along with having Healing abilities. They have also been known to use Holy magic.

Lower Level Monster: Funghi

Name: Funghi.
Level: Bronze/Silver.
Habitat: Forest/Field/Cave.
Element: Plant, Poison, other (see description for details).
Frequency: Small are common, larger are not as common.
Intelligence: Low/Under average.
Danger level: Small are Green, larger are Yellow to Orange.
Description: Funghi are living mushroom monsters. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colours and types, but all have one thing in common, they are a Plant type monster. Most if not all Funghi have a Poison element, and rely on this as their main source of defense, however there are some that have harnessed the power of other basic Elements, such as Fire, Ice, Thunder/Lightning etc.. Some have been thought to have gained the power to use Darkness Poison as well as Earth Poison, due to the deadliness of their attacks. They range in size, the smallest being the size of a medium-sized dog, and the largest the size of a Great Dane.
It is hard to tell a Funghi from normal funghi, as in many places very large mushrooms grow, making it difficult to know which are normal and which are actually monsters, as there is little to no way of telling the difference between the two. The larger a Funghi is the more dangerous it is considered, due to the fact that they store up poisonous spores within their form which they release as a primary defense mechanism, so the bigger the Funghi, the more spores it contains, however they are also able to use magic skills, as already mentioned, but the amount of magic they have is also based upon size.

Lower Level Monster: Giant Bee

Name: Giant Bee.
Level: Bronze.
Habitat: Field/Forest.
Element: Insect and Earth Poison.
Frequency: Common.
Intelligence: Average.
Danger level: The average Giant Bee is of Green to Yellow level in danger, however a Giant Queen Bee is Orange to Red.
Description: Like the Giant Spider, a Giant Bee is exactly what its name says. They are in every way the same as their smaller counterparts, except of course much stronger, and, unlike their smaller brethren, have overcome the problem of death when using their stingers. They are however very placid creatures who go about their daily business, and will not attack unless provoked. Of course, in large groups they are deadly.
They are very friendly if you befriend one, and will be as loyal as a dog. A baby Giant Bee is the size of a kitten, and the largest Giant Bee recorded (not a Queen) was as large as a Great Dane, however the average size of the adult Giant Bee is the size of an average large dog, such as a German Shepherd.

Lower Level Monster: Giant Crab

Name: Giant Crab.
Level: Bronze for smaller, Silver for larger.
Habitat: Sea/Beach.
Element: Water.
Frequency: Common.
Intelligence: Low.
Danger level: Green for smaller, Yellow for larger.
Description: Giant Crabs are, simply, the giant counterparts of their smaller brethren. They behave the same as any normal crabs expect for their ability to use Water based magic. They can grow to be eight feet tall in height, though the largest ever recorded was the size of a small house. Usually if you leave them alone they won't bother you, though if you get too close they may become frightened and/or territorial and attack.

Lower Level Monster: Giant Fly Trap

Name: Giant Venus Fly Trap, more commonly known and referred to as "Venus", "Trap", or "Venus Trap".
Level: Bronze.
Habitat: Jungle/Mire/Forest.
Element: Plant/Poison.
Frequency: Common.
Intelligence: Under average.
Danger level: Green.
Description: Giant Venus Fly Traps are rather self-explanatory; they are simply oversized version of their smaller brethren. However, being much larger means that they feed on much larger prey, which is how they have come to be more commonly referred to as simply Venus Traps, or even just one of those words for short. They are most often stationary creatures, simply living their life where they have grown, though on occasion they have been known to move around, pulling their roots up and using their many appendages as limbs. They more often than not are able to use Poison magic along with physical attacks. For younger or more inexperienced fighters it is recommended to take them down in groups, otherwise (though depending on size), they can be difficult to beat.

Lower Level Monster: Giant Octopus

Level: Bronze for smaller, Silver for larger
Habitat: Sea/Beach.
Element: Water.
Frequency: Common.

They have been known to grow up to ten feet tall, though the average Giant Octopus is around six feet. If unprovoked they will not attack, however they can get frightened and/or territorial if you approach them too closely, this of course depending on the Octopus as an individual.

Lower Level Monster: Giant Spider

Name: Giant Spider.
Level: Silver for younger Spiders, Gold for Older.
Habitat: Forest/Jungle/Cave.
Element: Earth Poison.
Frequency: Young Spiders are common, older Spiders are rare and get rare with age.
Intelligence: Young Spiders are Low, older Spiders get cleverer with age. The oldest Giant Spider ever found was far above Average intelligence.
Danger level: Young Spiders are Yellow, older Spiders are Red or Black.
Description: Giant Spiders' name is self-explanatory, they are a breed of Giant Spider and come in all the varieties of normal Spiders. However, unlike their smaller brethren, Giant Spiders are all poisonous, as a defense due to being a large target.
They are in every way like their smaller counterparts, aside from their strength and intelligence which increases with their size.
A baby Giant Spider is as large as a kitten, and they continue to grow throughout their lives, though the process slows considerably as they age. The largest recorded Giant Spider was as big as a house and over one thousand years old. It's intelligence level could match even the brightest humans, and it died of old age in its home.

Lower Level Monster: Goblin

Name: Goblin.
Level: Bronze.
Habitat: Forest/Mountain/Cave/Mire.
Element: Earth.
Frequency: Common.
Intelligence: Under average to Average.
Danger level: Green/Yellow.
Description: Goblins are small creatures that often grow no larger than a dwarf, if that. They spend most of their time in their own little communities and will only venture out in search of food, supplies or fun. They rarely ever leave their birthplace and most often will never leave the larger area in which they live. They don't associate with any other races, finding food and supplies within that larger area, and speak their own somewhat nonsensical language that is mostly made up of noises, because of this no one has ever really been able to translate or understand it, Goblins being the only ones who use it.
They are fairly harmless creatures who mostly attack other monsters as a form of fun; they aren't particularly strong and rather cowardly, however they have a basic understanding of most forms of magic, though not a lot of power with which to wield it. When encountering a Goblin the best thing to do is scare it away, as they mean no harm by their actions, but if ignored will continue to bother you as they see it as a game.
It's not uncommon for Goblins to live peacefully alongside other races, though they mostly keep to themselves if they have their own community. However on occasion they will integrate with the other race. It's not all that unusual to see a small group or even just one or two Goblins living in a house or shop with a person, either as companions, helpers or even employees to take care of smaller tasks. They are quite friendly creatures and will remain loyal if you spend a lot of time with them and become their friend, though they are not all that often used as aids in battle due to not being all that strong, and are often better at just helping out in domestic ways.

Lower Level Monster: Gryphon

Name: Gryphon.
Level: Gold.
Habitat: Forest/Cave/Mountain/Lake (living nearby).
Element: Thunder/Lightning, Flying, Fire.
Frequency: Rare.
Intelligence: Above average/Brilliant.
Danger level: Orange.
Description: The Gryphon is a monster with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle, though very often its forelimbs with be like an eagle's legs, including talons. They are extremely noble creatures, and especially in the olden days would be found guarding treasure of some sort. These days though this is still something they do, they can also be found more frequently, living peacefully. They will only attack unprovoked if one doesn't treat them with respect; it is said if you show respect to a Gryphon they will return it, and leave you alone or even aid you somehow. They are very strong creatures, able to harness the powers of Thunder/Lightning and Fire. It takes a great amount of respect and patience to gain a Gryphon as a companion, however it is well worth it, as they are both skilled fighters and very loyal, helpful friends.
