[Currently I have no topics to just post this in a hangout or something (due to double posting rules), so thought I'd make a topic.]


Have you been in a place/situation where you've smelled something that you've know you've smelled before, but dunno what it is only because you haven't confirmed exactly what its from?

That may only apply to me right now.
I dunno how many times I've smelled it before, but I know I have.
Currently I'm in my apartment with some other of my roommates, I'm alone in my room (plus pets). They're in a closed bedroom across the hall. I've been exposed to this smell (like, I've been able to smell it) for an hour maybe..?
I've heard coughing too, and something about a knife. O.o?

This is in this forum because I believe it to be marijuana. ( The smell, not this forum. <<;; I dunno)

Now, I don't smoke anything, drink anything, or anything else that can be illegal for me. Also, I actually don't care if anyone does it or anything either. Its just I'm alone (socially wise) right now and I'm just trying to get an outlet of some such.

Its just, I dunno why anyone would risk something illegal, especially since they're young (I'm the oldest at 20). Its not that they'd get caught or anything right now. I won't tattle on them, I don't care like that. But if they were out and about and did stuff, I'm not fishing them out of jail. See I don't really care at all. One of them already drinks (underage). I just dunno what I should do right now or at all. I know I won't do anything cause I'm passive like that. They haven't invited me in their "club", so its not like I haven't been pressured or anything.
Its not like this is a terrible environment to be in. Its ..normal? It has its pros and cons. My boyfriend is away at work right now..so I gots..I dunno really. I may leave after I post this so I can get away from the smell and all. Its just..gah. People keep knocking on the door and joining the party (whether they know smoking is happening or not).

I dunno if I'd be hypocritical or not, I mean. I'd be open to trying new things. Smoking or some such of taking drugs, maybe. Theres a few alcoholic drinks I'd like to try. And I have tried a few drinks, even if I'm underage here. But I never liked any of them. They're ew. Smoking of any kind I've never done at all. (unless you count second hand smoke..thanks dad. ;n; ) Theres probably a few drugs I'd take like ecstasy or something. But in the end I'd be too paranoid about the drugs themselves do actually take them. Like where it came from, how it was made, etc.

So yeah, I'd probably try some things if I were in a place where they were legal (and I was at the legal age if any). But I'm too timid and "good" to do anything. I've just too afraid of the consequences, both health wise and law wise. :/

I've always been around things like that, and I've begun to hate it so much that I have to either leave the building completely when I smell it or just hide under the cover or something.

I won't associate myself with anyone that does drugs or the like. I even had a friend once that lied and told everyone that she smoked marijuana only because her boyfriend did. When he heard that, he started smoking it again (apparently he stopped or something before that) and it just started a bunch of drama. Of course I no longer waste my time on idiots like them. I have friends that HAVE tried/done various things before, but I offer them a lot more tolerance because I know that they stopped.

In short I never have and never will do drugs, drink, or smoke. Being around those things all my life, I've just grown to hate them too much to even consider doing them, especially seeing people get in trouble with the police and/or completely ruin their lives over such things. I think it's stupid and a waste of time, whether or not the person believes it "should" be legal because "it's not as bad as smoking cigarettes." I've been fed that shit time and time again, as if that excuse is supposed to make it any better. Even Raz thinks marijuana should be legal and I hate it when he brings up that opinion or tries to convince me that it's true. I wish people would just allow us to agree to disagree.

No I'd never take drugs, it's a stupid thing to do. I don't smoke either, and I never plan on drinking, not the way some people do anyway.

Drugs for me is just a bad idea and people who get into that kind of thing aren't clever people to put it nicely. I wouldn't say I hate them, but I have little respect for them. I know some people who have crappy lives take drugs and alcohol because of it, and I suppose you could say I'm being insensitive to those people but how is taking drugs and alcohol helping your crappy life? It's not. In fact most times it's the alcohol and drugs that give you that crappy life, so why start? With the way the world is now surely everyone knows the risks of drugs.

There are few exceptions for me I suppose, but for people who are properly hooked on the bad stuff I think are stupid. Peer pressure is no reason to start either, you shouldn't go along with something you know is bad just because everyone else is doing it. It's old fashioned but: if your friend jumped of a cliff would you follow after them.

Though it would be on the same lines as talking about my current boyfriend. My boyfriend stopped smoking because I didn't like it. I forgot he even smoked at all! :P (Cigs)

But you are right, its a crazy path down a road of shit. Anyone willing to go down there is just crazy.

Whether or not they'd even want it legal for the medical reasons, I don't think they'll ever get their way.

Well, I've seen people smoke pot, and I've never wanted to smoke pot, nor have I ever smoked pot.
I mean people have can smoke it for all I care, as long as they know that they are disturbing others, and they know that if they get caught, they will get in trouble. That's their deal not mine
Funny fact; Because I am rarely around people smoking pot (I am occasionally, but not usually), one time on vacation I thought I smelled grilled ham & cheese sandwich, but my older bro and his fiance at the time(now wife), knew what it really was. I'm telling you, it smelled like a righteous grilled ham and cheese sandwich.

Another aspect of drug taking is when people over dose on pills, either stuff like amphetamines and "speed" or legal drugs, formedication. I think both are unwise. I wouldn't want to become dependent and have an addiction like that.

Maybe I'm close-minded because I don't know what it's like to be drunk or high. But I am a very health-conscious person and I don't want to ruin my health with things I don't even need.

I don't have friends who do those things either...we're goody-goodies, I suppose. So I've never really felt the pressure to try smoking or alcohol or drugs.

I don't hate people because they do drugs. One's personality and nature is what I judge the most strongly. It's disappointing when I find out someone is a druggie, though. There are healthier ways to get through life and have fun.

I have, when the air smells half like barbecue or something, but I can't tell what it is or where it's coming from. I think that' s annoying, because I want to know so badly what it is But then can't seem to remember. Then, later I go like, "Oh, it was -----!" Yup, I don't like it when that happens
