| So, I was looking around and couldn't find a critique or red lining thread. I love to do both, so I figured, why not make a thread here where I can hand out critiques and do quick red lines?
I don't have as much work to do this quarter, and I even have a computer class I would be able to write up critiques in.
Rules:
1. Follow Mido's rules, of course!
2. Don't post anything inappropriate to be critiqued or red lined. I don't want to see it, and I certainly don't want to draw over it.
3. If you used a reference, I'd like to see what you were looking at. It can really help with critiques.
4. Everyone can critique! Give these artists more than one point of view!
5. No bashing during critique. Be constructive, and always complement what was well drawn.
6. Don't take critiques personally. We are here to help you grow as an artist, not take you down.
Red Lines:
Red lines are when I take your drawing (usually just line work) and open it up into photoshop to go over what you had drawn and draw with red lines where something would be more accurate, better looking, or more dynamic.
1. I would prefer if artists who already have a decent grasp of anatomy ask for red lines.
2. Also, it would be best to ask for redlines on a more realistic piece. I would hate to screw up somebody's style.
3. I don't have a lot of time for them, so I will only do red lines when I feel I can show it better than describing it or if someone specifically asks for it.
Critiques:
These can be anywhere from a few sentences to four paragraphs long. Don't freak out if I don't give you much to work with, either I didn't have a whole bunch of time or I didn't have much to say. Typically that is a good thing.
And just so you have an idea of what I am really looking at. I feel my best work is on:
People in general.
More specifically, men.
Even more, heads and faces.
Also hands and feet.
Animals such as cats, birds, and fish.
Perspective.
