Okay, so I know that this is a very stupid thing to complain about, and I'm obviously a privileged person just to complain about this:

I woke up this morning, about an hour ago, and merrily got up to get ready for work. I only work two hours today, since I work at a tutoring center and it's intersession at my university. I try turning on the sink, but alas, only a trickle of water. Then I try the shower, and there's no water at all. I call my apartment manager, and apparently there is a leak in my building they are trying to fix and no one has water.

ARRRRGH! It's no one's fault, but now I can't take a shower, brush my teef, make my breakfast. I'm very particular about showering, too. I can't leave the house if I don't shower, because I have a super-sensitive sense of smell and I can smell myself. THAT ruins my day.

So, now I feel guilty because I called my boss and told her I'm going to be late, and I'm also missing work tomorrow because I have a meeting for my new job that is starting next week. SO then, I feel like I shouldn't feel guilty for missing work since I'm starting a new job soon and this is my last week of work, then I remember that at my new job, I still have to work a couple of hours at my old job because the two are in the same department. Guilt! Feeling guilty also ruins my day.

So, what does it take to ruin your day, Midoreans? Should I feel guilty about being late to work? Was this too much of a rant? When will the water in my apartment be turned back on?

I don't think it was too much of a rant, and I don't think that you should feel too guilty about being late to work. I mean you've no control over what happened in the pipe lines so I really don't see how you could be at fault for that. I can't say how long it could take though, I would ask around to see what I could find out.

If worse comes to worse crash with a friend, or check into a hotel for a few nights if need be, if its something you're able to do.

As for what ruins my day...well my sisters crazy disposition can really put a dent in my mood, and I don't like how nosey she can be either. She's a little self oriented so that can bother me a little.....its not as bad as it used to be though. I think another thing that can totally kill my day is repeatedly hurting myself....like in a klutzy kind of way...it makes me not want to do anything after awhile, for fear of hurting myself worse. >.<

Other than that, I think I tend to remain pretty cool headed.

Usually what ruins my day is waking up in either rage mode or in fuzzy mode and staying that way all day.
I try not to be angry but its just like I'm stuck in it. And fuzzy mode sucks because when I have school I don' take in as much and my classes move very quickly so I can't miss very much before becoming very confused.

As for BRIGHTENING my day. That is pretty easy. Just, usually random odd things. For example, one day I was walking to my campus library and some dude stops me and asks if 've ever head of Dragonball. I'm a huge fan. I have some f the anime and a lot of the manga. I know its geeky, but I always liked it. I liked it right as it hit mainstream(Toonami).

@Alyssia--I'm usually cool headed, too. I guess what really throws my day off is waking up and discovering that something is wrong and it means I can't go to work/hang out with my friends/whatevs.

@neomattlac--My partner wakes up a lot of times in fuzzy mode, and he feels strange and slow all day. Rarely do I feel that way, but it really sucks when I do. :/

I guess I should say what brightens my day, too (that's much more positive Happy). Since I'm a tutor, having a good student come into the tutoring center really brightens my day. Usually anything positive does--I'm usually an optimistic person.

Today just kept getting worse, though! My partner got food poisoning and some electricians turned off the electricity to our apartment building for some random reason--they were looking for an apartment that was having electrical problems, but they turned off EVERYONE'S electricity. I'm so glad I'm moving out of this place in a month!

I'm not sure what ruins my day! Sad You shouldn't have to feel guilty because you're leaving the job soon anyway! Smile Whenever your apartment manager says so! Laugh

Mmmhmm... what ruins my day is what happens in the mornings. I get up a hour earlier than most of the students in my grade to go to AP classes in the morning, so I tend to be quite cranky if I don't get enough sleep. >_>

That and a couple of real annoying boys that happens to be in some of my classes. They are very... pugnacious. Maybe less so, but still. One of them actually tripped over me when I was trying to get stuff out of my locker. Not fun.

I need to doodle more stuff.

This reminds me when I was in an apartment who's toilet would break down ALL THE TIME. Seriously, we'd just pee and it'd clog up. And if this happened when my roommate and I were super busy and didn't have time to call the landlord until midnight for a few days, we'd end up doing our "business" on campus. It was terrible and ridiculous.

Hmmm but what ruins only a day for me.... I think if someone criticizes something I think I'm exceptionally qualified at, and they're less qualified, and don't know I have a strong background, that will generally ruin a day for me.

heh sounds like my boyfriend, sycho. he's studying for a degree in history, and i have this friend who has always been into history and is VERY annoying to argue with, because she can't accept that she's wrong. needless to say... as soon as they realised history was a common interest... it didn't take long for him to get very, very annoyed Wink
