Gather round the campfire folks, and let the sounds of the gentle night breeze fill you with chilling goosebumps. *Hands out marshmallows*
Now that Halloween is just around the corner, I thought it would be the perfect time to discuss some creepy paranormal things that have happened to us. So gather round, and let's discuss the stories of spirits, and all spooky things that go bump in the night. *Cackles*
What is your story?

Actually I have one that I don't think anyone will believe because I'm not quite sure I believe it myself XP
At my house in the living room we have it set up so that there are two couches and a recliner fairly close to four HUGE windows that take up most of one wall. During the summer I LOVE to grab my laptop and set it up next to the window with the moonlight filtering in as I watch movies and play games on my computer. Of course during the late hours of the night everyone is prone to falling asleep which is exactly what I did after turning the tv as well as my laptop off before grabbing a blanket to sleep with. I ended up sleeping inside the recliner which was scooted up right next to the window. I've never really been one to believe in ghosts or anything like that and I wouldn't say I've ever had a feeling that someone's watching me and I'm not a paranoid person, but I woke up from a weird dream where there were eyes all around me and couldn't help but feel that I was being stared at. I'm a very logical person and so of course I didn't think anything of it and didn't even bother to open my eyes before I fell right back asleep. About thirty minutes later I wake up with the same feeling and decide that I need to convince my overactive imagination that there is no possible way someone's looking at me. So I turned over in the chair to look out the window, only to see this gray shimmering outline of what I assume was a human. Now imagine you've just woken up late night and its still dark outside to find someone staring at you. Needless to say, I freaked out. I ended flung the blanket off of me and tore out of the living room and into my parents room, screaming that someone had been staring at me and watching me sleep. My mom and dad woke up, furious that I'd woken them up and told me to go back to sleep, which I did.
Now, my room is on the second story and I have a bunkbed and I always sleep on the top bunk. That morning I woke up with the same creepy feeling and tore out of my bedroom and downstairs, unwilling to investigate it once more in fear that I would find someone staring at me again. When I confronted my mom about it she said she couldn't remember me screaming and waking her up and that it was just a dream. Thing is, she saw me go to sleep in the living room so I asked her to explain how I made it upstairs and onto the TOP BUNK of my bed. She couldn't explain it and everyone in my family thinks I'm a nutcase because I refuse to sit in any of the rooms in my house alone in front of a window now >_<
Call me paranoid or say that I'm lying, I don't care- I'm telling the truth and whether you doubt me or not there's not exactly anything I can do about that... But I still get that weird feeling now and again particularly when I'm up alone at night and there isn't something over the windows or there's a bathroom nearby that I can see the mirror in XP I guess I'm just a chicken or a freak XD
^^ Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed my little story. I might get around to posting some more stories that I've heard or experienced later :3

| @Ari - *Hands you some marshmallows* Be sure not to chew on any while listening to a scary story. You might choke. D;
@Tod - I hope you don't look at me the same way you looked at that cow, or I might fall over dead too. XD
@Naomie - O_O Your story gave me some goosebumps I'll admit. It does remind me of an incident that happened to me, only, mine was a bit different.
To make a story short, it was late at night, and I was watching tv with my sister. We heard a little bit of a scratching sound outside of our living room window, which was right near my sister. She decided to take a peek out of the blinds, thinking it was nothing, only to see a man staring straight back at her through the window. I saw it along with her, and nearly screamed out, running into the kitchen. She was scared, but she literally lifted the blinds all the way, to see who the man was. It was our neighbors father, apparently drunk, looking through our window. We opened the door for him, and found that he was a bit.. lost. XD But either way, that moment continued to haunt me till this day. I rarely look out a window now if I hear a strange sound, in fear that someone will be staring straight back at me. o_o

I love spooky stories! Bloody Mary and Candy Man scare the shit out of me though, I'm a total chicken when it comes to things like that. I read R.L. Stine, Christopher Pike, etc.

| Old thread, but I'm posting in it anyway because I ADORE GHOSTS.
I watch Ghost Hunters, Whisperer, etc. I've seen a ton of ghost movies and stuff, not because I think it's cool, but because I'm an avid believer and because I have experiences with spirits on a daily basis.
I'm what my grandmother calls a 'Medium' of sorts. I don't see how people died, or past events in a room, and I can't bring back Uncle Billy from the dead to talk to him, I have no control over these special senses, they just happen.
But as I was saying.
It was actually late last year, around Christmas time, I was going to my friend's house. We went to the casinos (mainly just to eat and watch her father lose at the slots). I actually tried my hand and doubled the money I had, I ended up going with twenty dollars and leaving with sixty.
Anyway, we were on the way home, and when we went into her house, I realized what time it was. It was close to 3am. That's called the witching hour not only because it's the darkest hour, it's also when the entire world is at it's most silent and when spirits are the most likely to be active. Merely for the fact that a lot of spirits don't really enjoy being pointed at and put on television. The dark provides cover and privacy.
But we started to talk, and the entire time I kept getting a weird feeling. Not weird 'haha' or weird 'uncomfortable' feeling. It was weird 'someone's yanking the covers over your body and trying to suffocate you' weird. I was sitting in the computer chair, it was a large one that spun around if you kicked off the floor. I decided to test a theory, and I folded my legs under myself kinda yoga style, and held onto the desk.
Once I was situated comfortably and knowing I wouldn't be able to move the chair unless I flailed my arms around or leaned, I sat up straight, and put my hands in my lap.
"What are you doing?" my friend was kind of suspicious. She believed in faeries and things like that, so she also believed in spirits.
"I wanna see some--" and the next thing I know, the chair's spinning so fast I'm thrown right out of it into her dresser right across from her desk. I hit it hard enough that her cd rack fell right on top of me. She started screaming at me, asking me if I was all right and crying. I told her I was fine and sat up.
The chair was still spinning at an alarming pace. It even started moving across the room, knocking over her box fan, bumping repeatedly into her desk, and then finally it stopped once it hit the wall. I didn't sit in the chair the rest of the night, and neither did she. You see, she was pregnant, she couldn't risk something like that.
So, 3 am passes, and at 4 am I finally go into the spare room to sleep. I crawl under the covers and just sleep, all my clothes on and everything. I still ached from hitting the dresser, so I kept having a dull throbbing pain in the back of my mind all evening.
At around 6am, I hear someone moving around in the room adjacent from me. Actually, it was a bathroom. Let me describe the set up of this house.
It's basically a new house, and an old house that had the walls torn down in the middle and was basically squashed together. The left side of the house is new, a huge open area where they have a wrap around couch, recliner, big screen tv and a two story section with three bedrooms that lead into another half story.
On the right side is the older house, I've never been upstairs, so I can't tell you the layout there, but I believe it's also a two story area, with an attic, and two bedrooms with a very large bathroom, the guest bedroom connected to the bathroom by a small walkway with a door that closes off either side. The door, for some reason, doesn't shut properly, it has a board pressed into it and keeps it into place.
I was in the spare room, it had a large vanity dresser to one side, and a large wardrobe style dresser on the other with a huge two post bed and her nephew's little drum set against the large, thin windows off on the right wall if you were to sit on the bed and stretch your arms out.
The movement I heard was coming from the bathroom, so I assumed it was my friend doing her hourly 'pregnancy pee' break. I rolled over, and went back to sleep. At six thirty, I heard movement again, but this time, it was in my own room.
I took no notice of it, I was exhausted and I knew if I opened my eyes, I was going to see something I didn't want to anyway, like her walking around nude again. She sleeps in the stark and also has a habit of sleepwalking, so I was being optimistic and hoping it was that.
But I felt something dripping on me. Not like water sprinkle drops, this was like clumpy, home made paste with newspaper clippings dropping onto me. It felt like wet mud clumps and sticky. I finally couldn't take it anymore, and opened my eyes. What stood over me wasn't human, more like human-like, but it was. Not. Human.
It was a male, at least, it had a flat chest from what I could see where I was pinned, and wore a muddy, white-ish cream colored shirt. The skin was pale, but murky, like a coat of dirt was covering it, but you could still see the blue veins in its arms, face, and neck. The face was slender, Jewish, maybe Indian in structure. The high cheekbones, slightly pressed in nose, large mouth. The gunk was dark brownish red, at least it looked that color in the light that I could see coming from the window next to me.
Its hair was messy and black, with twigs, mud clumps, leaves, and I think grass protruding from all over its head. Its eyebrows were slightly bushy, but trimmed it seemed, like, at some point it was a really well kept, well groomed person. But the eyes were what struck me most.
Instead of actually having eyes, they were really blackened holes in his head, like there were eyes here, and the sockets were perfectly in tact, but instead of eyes there was just a dull white light there. It blinked and moved them around like regular eyes when it did look away for a second. I think it was because my friend woke up. I was too scared to scream, to move, anything.
The gunk was all over my chest and my arms and face. I must have pushed the covers down in my sleep somewhat, it was humid in the room. But I had his hands positioned to where one was right beside my face, and the other was at my side between my left arm and left side. I could feel the weight on the bed, this thing wasn't one of those mirages. It wasn't a steak induced nightmare, it was real.
Finally I snapped out of it, and I pushed my hands on its chest. It kind of squished, and I felt more of the gunk suddenly spray my face, as though I'd sat on an open water balloon. It just kind of squirted out and then in a second it was gone, leaving me covered in this red and brown gunk. I finally went to the bathroom, shaken, and started cleaning myself off.
It was when I got into the bathroom that I realized the chunks were entrails on my body. Meaty pieces of human flesh. And the red and brown gunk was blood mixed with mud and dirt. By this time, I'm terrified, crying, barely able to stand. My friend finally comes into the bathroom, having heard me, and sees me.
She was going to make that room the baby's nursery. She hasn't stepped foot into that bedroom since I left. I've not been to her house but two more times.
And both times that thing was there, watching me. How did I know? Well, you know how when you look in a mirror, you only expect to see yourself, so you look away to get something, and when you look back and see someone else there you tend to freak the hell out?
Yeah, it liked doing that, and it would always give me this malicious grin. A big, toothy grin, not human teeth either. It was like looking into the mouth of a shark. Nothing but lots of needle-point teeth. It could easily rip out my throat if it wanted to by just nibbling.
And, I know most of you probably don't believe my story, I have told it many times, and I tend to try and paint as vivid a picture as I can. But the only reason why I remember it so clearly is because it followed me home the second time I went over to my friend's house. It shows up a lot around my house.
My grandmother's seen it, but just assumed it was because one of the furniture pieces in the house is old and my grandfather didn't build it. She says that it might be what's haunted. But I know. I know that that thing came out that night while sitting in the chair, and it's still haunting me to this day. It never hurts me, but it scares me sometimes. It's not the only creature I deal with, you see.
I live in a really old part of town, there's lots of things that pop up. Animal spirits, people, you name it. There's one little spirit of our old dog. I know it's ours because this dog used to obsess over my flipflops. Not just any flipflops, my left one. My happy bunny flipflops, even.
It would grab it, shake it in its head, chew on it for a couple of minutes, then leave it in the bathroom floor for me to find later.
We no longer have a dog or anything in the house big enough to pick up a flipflop.
And my flipflop will suddenly appear in my bathroom covered in drool
