It has a crust like a pie.
But its called a cake.
So, what is it?! And why?

| Hmm. I always thought of it as a cake, but it seems to be more closely related to pie.
You could always meet it halfway and just call it a pastry. xD

| Cheesecake I think is more in the custard family and possibly could be defined as a tart depending on what type. Cause you got ones that look like pie, then cheesecakes pastries, then ones that could be more cake like. Either way they are yummy and can be used to bribe friends in to loaning you their books >>;

| Neither it's a tart. Pies have a sealed top. Tarts are just open topped pies. So yeah, taaarrrtttt.

| Hm, maybe the recipe has changed over time, but the name didn't? Like, the design for it and stuff has changed since it was first made, I dunno.
And you are evil, Nemui! D: I love cheesecake, it's so easy to make, and there's no baking, so technically that doesn't count. xD
