Chapter One
*BEEP! BEEP!*
Cody woke up and looked at his alarm clock (as he hit the snooze button).
*5:30 A.M.*
He sighed and got up out of bed. Then he went into the bathroom and took a shower.
When he got out, he dressed in a t-shirt and jean shorts.
*BUZZ!*
His phone was vibrating. A glance at the screen told him "Allison" was calling.
"Hey, Ally, what's up?" he asked, answering his phone.
"I couldn't sleep at all last night," Ally began.
"You need a ride to school?" Cody asked, before she could finish.
"Yeah," she admitted.
"No problem, Ally," Cody said before hanging up.
A glance at his alarm clock told him he had ten minutes until he had to leave to pick up his eco-neurotic girlfriend, Allison.

"So, Ally, why did you feel it was nessary to call me and ask for a ride when we always ride together?" Cody asked once Ally was in the car.
"I had a weird dream last night," Ally explained.
"And you needed to hear my voice?" Cody asked.
She nodded.
Cody sighed. For as long as he had known her, Ally had had bizarre dreams--dreams that sometimes came true.
"Was it one of those dreams?" he asked.
"Yeah," Ally said, not at all eager to discuss her dream.
"Allison, you know that it's better to talk about what's bothering you than to hold it in," Cody reminded her, using her first name to emphasize the seriousness of the situation.
"Cody, in my dream, we were being shot at with laser beams," Ally burst out.
"Laser beams? Like phasers?" Cody asked.
"Sort of."
"Why?"
"Why what?" Ally asked.
"Why were we being shot at with laser beams?" Cody clarified.
"I don't know. But one thing I do know is that graduation this year is going to be interesting."
"So it happens at our graduation then?"
"I think so."
"You think so?"
"Well, it looked like it happened at our graduation, but I could be wrong."
"If you say so," Cody replied, as he pulled into the school parking lot.

Cody didn't get a chance to talk with Ally anymore on the matter of her dream until after they had been dismissed for spring break that day at noon.
"Where to?" Cody asked, referring to lunch.
"The sub place near my house," Ally replied.
"Sounds like a great idea, let's do lunch there then," Cody said with a grin.
"Let's," Ally said, not all that excited.
"You tired?" Cody asked.
"Yeah," she admitted.
"Let's take the drive-thru and eat at your place.
