Halloo! ^.^ My name is ChazZ, Kasumi or Jade Spider - depending on who you're speaking to. I'm new to the site and just wandering around, trying to get my bearings.

I haven't come up with a distinctive style yet because I'm still experimenting and learning. I'm currently a student at the University of Wisconsin in Marathon County. Hopefully I'll be a lot better soon. ^.^

Not bad, not bad at all.

I would suggest try to stray a little from anime, it's such a trap for artists. It might be a good experience to do some life drawing (though boring, it is good practice).

Also, you're marker work isn't bad, but it could be a little smoother. I'm sure that will sort itself out in time.

Well, either way, you're still well on your way to being a great artist, I can tell. Keep up the great work!

I'm actually in a Life Drawing class at the UW right now. I find it annoying (mainly because I don't like looking at naked strangers...) but I think it helps out.

Though, I don't really see myself straying from the manga style because it was really the reason why I started drawing to begin with. >.<

Yes, I had a similar reason (though I started with disney, not manga) and the manga influence has been huge for me. Most people call my stuff anime and it makes me angry, aha....

Life drawing classes are good. In my AP art class we did some figure drawing days, and those helped improve my art really quickly, though our models were clothed.

I can see why drawing naked strangers would be awkward though.

Speaking of manga, what series got you into it? XD

@ Cougati - Not really sure. Tenchi Muyo was the first anime series I watched but it wasn't until after my first anime convention that I really started to draw.

Yeah? Anime conventions are so much fun.

I used to watch Salior Moon ans a child, but it wasn't until I started drawing that I got into anime. So I'm the opposite.

I used to read a bunch of comics, like Garfield and Bone, which is what got me in.

Never heard of Bone. What is it?

It's a western comic about a few little white creatures, one of whom is named Bone. He's friends with a human girl. I think the comic is pretty much about his life, I don't remember than much of it.

How sad, seeing as how I used to read it all the time. However, to my knowledge, I thought it was pretty good.

The Vash is cute and the avatar the last airbender one is funny. I remember seeing that picture on your DA page. It looks like your drawing is getting better.
