| Last night, a friend from school named Austin Eversole shot and killed his father. No reason; he stole a gun and fired 3 rounds into the back of his head.
I knew Austin, not as a close friend, but we talked some times and knew each other since elementary school.
I knew he hated his father, but... this?
It's just so sad. It really is.

| Nope. No one has any clue.
I got up this morning at about 5 and had a text from my friend Mandy saying he'd done it, but he didn't tell Kasey why.
(Kasey's the girl that lives next door to him. He told her the whole story as the cops were on their way, since he knew the media would make it seem a lot worse.)
All he said was that he just couldn't stand it anymore. His father didn't understand him in the slightest, he didn't want him anymore, and a lot more reasons.

probably make it sound a lot worse.
not that i know anything,
but i just know how the media can be.
was it just him and his father who lived together.?
seems he just had a lot going on, and snapped. it is a sad thing really.

Yeah, his parents were divorced quite a while ago. His mom was, well, crazy, and his dad was a truck driver, so he wasn't around much anyways. In my opinion, he should've lived with his grandma.
She would've taken care of him.

Okay, sometimes I can be mad at my dad, or maybe I can't really forgive him for what he did to me in the past, but that's taking it to the extreme :/

| what you need to remember is most people these days will do anything for attention or because they have had a terrible childhood and needed revenge somehow.. no one is innocent and most of the population would consider doing that!

| Wow, that's just terrible. Like Mella, I dislike my dad a lot sometimes but I could never consider that. He should've tried to seek help from someone. A family member, friends, even a counselor or psychiatrist.
What's so scary about that though is that anyone could be pushed to that extreme in one way or another, and we all know it. But to see such things put into action is sickening.

I agree, but this was more of an impulse thing. He texted a friend just before he did it asking if they'd help him move the body when he was done; he offered $500. When the guy said no, he shot his dad three times and went to his friend's house in Waxahachie.
He really didn't have time to talk to anyone, nor do I think that would've help.
He had a lot of issues as a result of the dysfunction of his family.

He didn't do this for attention, I know that. This was a result of your second mention, the terrible childhood.
He was humiliated in elementary school because his mom forced him to wear a suit every day - in high school it's cute and funny, but back then everyone made fun of him for it. D:

I agree. I, unfortunately, hate my mom and dad. I literally have no love for them for how they've treated me. But... I could never do this.
Not only would it ruin my future, but I think the guilt would drive me to kill myself. I just couldn't handle the thought of taking lives simply because. D:

They didn't have good relations, and they completely disagreed on everything. I'm not sure why this one pushed him to the brink, as I've seen much worse between them, but it did.
All of this over a stupid bloody fourwheeler.

I know it would've. If he had someone who actually cared for him, he'd have been better off. If he had someone who was actually there for him, he'd have been better off.
I just feel so sorry for him.

| I can understand how people at a young age can despise their parents but. . . this is a little extreme.
Its sad, and you can't really blame it on television, videogames, mass media, etc. Because otherwise, we'd all be loco killers.
(that is except me, I don't play video games)
(ha ha)
Its our own fault for letting youth be filled with such hatred, that no one should have to deal with at that age.
I'm sorry you knew him, and I hope you don't feel guilty in any way.
