Hentai, Art or Perversion?

I think it takes a lot of skill to make the sort of porn images, but I do think it is purely to make money which I suppose still makes it art, but tastefull art..no. So I would say its a way to make money because sex sells, but it isnt the most tasteful art.

i think many people consider it perversion because, especially and most obviously in america, the majority of people are terrified to address the issue of sexuality because it's obscene/disgusting/whatever. the truth is, sex is what we were created to do, whether we'd like to admit that or not. at a base level, we are animals that have the built-in need to reproduce. we just got lucky in that fact that it releases all those happy-feeling chemicals in our brains, which is evidentially something horrible.
i guess i'm saying that if you take away the taboo of the act, it's just art. if you apply the taboo, it's perversion. it's one of those things where you'll never really get a great answer.

I've never thought there's anything wrong with it. *shrugs* It takes a talented artist to draw hentai. One of my friends draws it like all the freakin' time. XD There really is nothing wrong with expressing sexuality. But there is the problem of what people want to think of our sexual side as BEING. Most/(all? XD haha) hentai is just very base and caters to lust and fetishes. So that's what it's associated with... hence the negative opinion.

I can't really think of any websites you could post on just 'cause I don't go looking for them.... other than y, which is of course for males only. But if you wanna draw it and get real feedback, I'll look at it for you. I have no problem with it.

Depending on the form of Hentai forms my opinion.
I am not a huge fan of the harming of others, or the children ones.
Although that is a main thing.
I like the animation, or just the pictures themselves.
Anime/Manga is my most frequent drawing form,
so when I found Hentai I took to reading/watching it for awhile.
It is interesting and better than live action.
I do not like to watch real people having sex,
No idea why though, it just bothers me.
Eh, whatever I suppose.
So my answer is no I do not find it tasteless ALWAYS,
and if you want to dabble in it go for it.
I have and so I do not think anyone else should not.
Except for children...

Actually, I prefer it to live action, too.
Maybe because of the fact I love art, animation and...well, it's pretty and of course when you draw something to do with sex you make it perfect. You can tailor it exactly to what you like.

I suppose there's a lot more options since it's just whatever you can draw. And you can draw whatever you think of, so...

Though... sometimes it's better not to draw everything that comes to mind. Well, not if you're gonna show it to millions of people, but otherwise draw whatever the hell you want. ;/

hm... I think many people don't know much about hentai/yaoi/yuri and their knowledge bases on what others says or/and few animations/pictures. I think one can't build an objective opinion like that and therefore tends to enclose yourself in a wall of prejudice, so one thinks of it as tasteless and won't touch and think ALL of it is nasty and YUCK and such O__o
personally, I have my favorites and I think they are very nice done, have a pretty art style and actually some plot xD there are also stuff I don't like at all but well, to each his own Oo
and most of the animated hentai stuff is really hilarious, I think it's very amusing xD

As of yet I do not own any, but being my age...
I suppose if I wanted to I could buy some.
Although for now I cannot because I respect the people I live with too much.
Plus if my siblings accidentally walked in my room and saw it.

Why?

Because so many perverted people love it.

They won't admit it in public,
but they do.

I enjoy the images,
to be honest,
but I HIGHLY dislike any animation dealing with the sort.

It takes an exceptionally skilled artist to recreate the perfect curves and lines of the human body.

This excludes,
of course,
the wildly obscene hentai images,
whether it be painful scenarios or immature actors.

Other than that,
it's fine with me.

I prefer to keep it at arms length, granted out of all the forms of porn in the world, it's the most entertaining!

Granted Personally I can't use it as porn, but at least the 'subjects' look more into it than most modern day pornactresses... (I refuse to use the word 'star' to refer to someone who opens their legs on film!)

And yeah Like what Opium said; I prefer the images and Manga to the animations, apparently animators of all Disciplines Don't know how boobs move!
