Who doesn't love this cooking show? Drama, romance, spicy heat!!!! We're about halfway through season 5 at the time of this thread and the next episode slated to air in the U.S. looks to be a match-up between the current chefs left and old contestants from previous seasons. Who thinks who is gonna kick butt? Set your flame to high ladies cause I think it's gonna sizzle!
Who was everyone's favorite chef from previous seasons?
Who won you thought didn't deserve it?
I actually don't watch this show...I guess I just don't know how to get into it without being able to taste the food and judge it for myself. My parents however are obsessed with this show and my mama is constantly asking "Did you watch Top Chef last night?" It never fails, she just can't grasp the concept that I wouldn't watch this show.
Lol well you can never taste the food on any chef show unless you actually go to a taping......but on Top Chef hey don't have that either. Top Chef is more about human drama than cooking sometimes. It's just good though. I totally want to get the Top Chef recipe book they put out and try some of the dishes that always looked really good to me. ^^
I have only watched the ending part of one episode (it was a couple of seasons ago) and they were making some really crazy ice cream flavors (if I remember correctly)....I think one person made something really outrageous like asparagus flavored ice cream. YUK! In those cases maybe I would like the drama of the show more than actually getting to taste the prepared food =)
I think I may know which episode you're talking about. That was a pretty good one. I love and hate cooking shows lol. They're endlessly entertaining and wonderful to watch but it tortures me I can't eat any of it. I usually end up cooking something for myself when I watch the food network or Top Chef. I dunno who is going to win this season but I'm usually pretty good at picking out which chefs will make it to the final rounds. I've been pretty dead on each season, though I usually can't pick the winner. I was kinda upset Tiffany didn't win in season 1. Buhet Harold was good too. The one season winner that upset me most was Huang. He was soooo ANNOYING and I'm pretty sure they picked him because he's ethnic. I don't mean to sound racist by saying this but I'm pretty sure that's why. The producers always have a hand in choosing the winner (of course) so of course it was time to please the other demographic of viewers after all the male white winners. Then it was time for a female to win. *sigh* I wish I didn't feel like the winners were rigged. But it's still endlessly entertaining to watch. ^^;
I don't watch the show, but i went with a friend for her birthday to Jamie's restaurant in SF, and she came out and talked to us for like 10 minutes. everyone but me was spazzing out kus they were all big fans, i had no idea who she was haha
