-high fives- Blues rock is the best kind of rock! Do you have a favorite artist? The Black Keys are the only ones that come to mind for me in this particular subgenre. Oh and Led Zeppelin of course. <3

| hah, maybe i shouldve put links?
most of it is electronic. people criticize it by sounding like a lot of noise. it's a bit of an acquired taste for me, i started listening to electronic music and that kind of opened the door to listening to more complicated songs that have a lot of sounds playing all melodically at once. IDM/braindance especially has a lot of complicated pretty melodies.
i guess i'll put links here for people
triphop, synthpop and this
i don't even know why "indie" is even a genre because people sound so different from eachother. anyways:
cocorosie, lcd soundsystem, psapp
IDM IDM
dnb, breakbeat, more dnb?
sometimes categorizing things in genre is usefull, other times it's painful xD

| If you think about it, indie is a genre is the same way pop is a genre. We have come to associate both with a certain sound or style, even though they literally mean "independent" and "popular" respectively, both terms which do not characterize their sound in any way. So there can be pop music that is not popular and indie music by an artist signed to a major label. I suppose that not too long from now nobody will be complaining about indie being used as a genre, just like how nobody is complaining about pop as a genre now.
