| i think it should stay legal... because as how i see it, many children are having a miserable life because their parents doesn't want them....or because the parents can't afford a living for them...it's so sad..
but still, on the other hand it's like stealing a chance of living from an innocent creature who havn't tried the happiness and pains of life... with all the pains and troubles that i face..it all makes me so grateful that i'm still living, to be honest, my mom didn't want me, and i was left in the orphanage for a few years. but i didn't give up on life, because the few moments that i spend with the poeple i love are worth all the pain.
my dad took me, so i'm not suffering anymore..but still...if in case i was killed as a child and aborted, i wouldn't have experienced all the great moments and got to meet all the nice people here >_<!!! *why em i being so emotional? LOL*
anywayh! my point is that: it all depends on the parents.. if, thew parents reaaaally hated the baby, and there was no chance of them treating the child kindly..then the child is better of aborted..because when chioldren and babies are killed, they go directly to heaven, that's how innocent they r.
but if the parents are reaaaaaaaaaaaally poor.. i think the child should be aborted too.. because u can't imagine how life is with no money 4 school, or health care... or without a decent meal..
If the parents had no problems about health, money, or if they could give the child love..then they have NO RIGHT to kill the child and steal all his/her chance to live..i don't stand with abortion in this case.

| Abortions should be as illegal as murder. If you have a child, and murder it, in its sleep, it's almost the same as aborting a child, still within your womb. We are on a slippery slope, and we can't say that if we continue to look away as innocent children are killed, that we won't be killed, when we are old and grey, and just as unwanted.
And Mana, don't say such things. Even if you think life isn't worth living, without money, health care, or a decent meal, I believe in the endurance of mankind. My grandmother helped fight against the Nazis, while living in a bombed out town called Hull. The Germans practiced on Hull, before bombing London. She lost more friends there, in her school years, than most people in their entire lifetime. If a ship made it within sight of England, more often than not, it was sank, right off the coast, along with any meals she would get. Still, she, along with every English Man and Woman, enduring the bombs, and the rockets. I hate to think that we, as the descendants of such noble, and aspiring human beings, should never deny anyone, their right to life, because we think it would be for their own good. That is simply arrogance, and underestimating the human spirit.
After all, my grandfather was born in the great depression, so in your book, he should have been killed. Then my mother wouldn't be here. Then my dad wouldn't have been able to meet his soulmate. Then I wouldn't have been born.
I have faith in the people of America, that they can find more happiness in the simplicity of life, than you.
Even as both my grandparents struggled through life, and my Grandmother had two daughters, even while the English government continued to ration food, they both endured. My grandmother was a mother to her daughters. My grandfather grew up to be an honorable serviceman. My mother was born, she met my father, and had three children, including myself. I can only guess as to how many people, who will change this world for the better, will be born, because my grandfather and grandmother grew up in the face of a dark and despairing world.
I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here, talking about this. This world is so dark, and dangerous...so full of death and despair... But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. It's like all the stories of the past, of history... the ones that, if you'd never heard them before, you never knew how they'd turn out. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something. People in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, or surrendering, or giving in to Evil, only they didn't. Because they were holding on to something.
There's some good in this world, Mana. And it's worth fighting for, no matter how old, how strong, how smart, how physically or how mentally fit you are. If I was able to, I would save at least one of the millions, who have been killed because of not being wanted...even if it cost me my life.

| Got to intervin. It is legal up to 3 to 5 Weeks then u can no longer get an abortion...I agree with Dego that it is wrong but This is how i feel...
If a girl is rapped and impregnated. Then I wont judge her for getting an abortion....It is the womens choice..... If she wants an abortion let her have one... I think the man should have no say in it... 1: Givving birth hurts When a guy pops one out they will understand... 2: you cant force someone to do something they dont want. YES i believe if a girl gets herself Pregnant then she should have to deal with it, but rape you cant help what happens and that is not fair on the woman.... I would not get an abortion if i got pregnant, those are my own standards, no one is the same or has the same beliefs and you cant force others to be the way u think society should be, then we lose our freedom, and we are all slaved to our sins...
Dego i do agree up to a certain point like I said, it is not quite so simple, also like me, I am so tiny that with my bf if we had a child i would be really iured from it cause my size, he is 6'7" and I am 5'3" I wouldn;'t get an abortion but if I had to to save my life, then it would have to happen, its no diffrent than a woman misscariaging. the fetis is not even formed yet, once it starts to form it is illigal to get an abortion, that is where the term backdoor abortion comes into play.
Once the baby is actually forming it is dangerouse to get an abortion because the internal bleeding that it can cause.
So I can say i agree and disagree

I find that a very offensive idea.
Not being funny, but if you believe that abortions are wrong, thats fine by me.
But dont you tell me that if i become pregnant when I am not ready to have a child, and the father may not be either, that i should have to keep it because of what YOU believe.
Abortion being legal doesnt mean everyone who ever had second thoughts about wether they want the child is going to get it done. it just means there's a CHOICE for every woman, to decide for herself wether she wants to bring a new life into the world, and i think that having that choice should be protected.
I believe it's wrong to bring a child into the world when it cant be provided for or where it is completely unwanted. but, if someone gets pregnant whose circumstances are terrible, but she is willing to give it a shot and keep the child, then thats fine by me. just like it should be fine by everyone else that a woman makes the opposite choice.
I'd also like to point out that your idea about the "right to life" works both ways - pregnancy and childbirth can kill the mother in a number of ways. and whose got more of a right to life? A fully grown woman, or a fetus that doesnt so much as have a heartbeat or a brain yet?
I think i know whose side I'd be on.

| Ecco is right and i think that was the point i was also trying get at......But my honsest opoinion is until the man gives child birth he should have no say in if a girl gets an abortion or not. it should be the womans choice.

| It's is the man's too - he should have a say. That's like saying that he should have no say in their education or how they're raised just because he didn't give birth to them. It is the woman's body going through with it and he shouldn't be allowed to dictate what she does, but he has the right to his opinion, as well as the right to express it and persuade her. He's as much of a potential parent than the woman is.
And I'm tired of hearing this "innocent child" and "how lucky we are to be born" stuff. Firstly, it's not a child; it's a fetus, and nothing more. It's not innocent, and it's not living. Thinking otherwise is only idealistic so if you're that caught up on it you should be against condoms and birth control pills too; they kill the sperm after all, and the sperm could potentially be a baby.
Secondly, the concept that we're so lucky to be living and that we shouldn't take that right from a fetus is sentimental as well. The fetus has no right to live because it's not living in the first place; it only has the potential, and many potential babies die before living out that supposed "right" through miscarriage and even fertilization. How would I feel if I were aborted? Duh! I wouldn't FEEL anything because I wouldn't be living, and I wouldn't even know the concept of life or feelings. It's not taking a life away; it's preventing a life from taking place. We do it every time we have protected sex.
Fetus development and child birth are scientific processes and shouldn't be looked at sentimentally; such things only get in the way of logical reasoning.

| this topic is really complicated @_2.. i think it can't be completely legel.. 7 not completely illigal....as some of u mentioned be4..some ladies just didn't have the choice to get pregnant *rape..etc* so i think they have the right to abort the child.. but better do it at the first weeks when the child isn't formed 7 doesn't have a spirit yet.. some say that babies recieve a spirit after 40 days in their mother's womb....be4 that would probably mean they are spiritles..
ahh anyway!! i think it makes sence that the governments still can't decide on banning abortion..if this continues we'll just argue day in & day out!

| If it isn't legal, then people will try to make aborts at home and end up killing both themselves and the baby. This happens, and that is horrible. Doing abort with a kitchen knife is a big no-no.
The argument "I don't need to be that protected during sex, if I get pregnant I just get an abort anyway." is righout stupid, in my opinion. I'm all for abort, but that's no way of doing it. It hurts much more parts than it helpes. I do believe though, that it's the womans choice. A fetus doesn't have a consciousness at the time it's being removed, and therefor I can't consider it killing. Yes, it's GOING to be a baby, but the dead spems in that condom you used would also have ended up being a baby if you haven't used that condom, so did you kill a child there too? The argument of "it's going to be a living baby" isn't working for me because of that.
At last, to put the whole thing harsh and blunt, humans have no natural enemies, aside from war and abortion, and we are honestly already overpopulated in a great number. I believe it's better to take care of what we have then to get more that we can't handle. Don't get me wrong, I admire women who get pregnant by mistake and carry and give birth to the child anyway (even though it many times takes much courage to make an abort too), but I strongly believe it's better to do an abort if you feel you can not take care of the whole thing. That's just my five cents.

| ^^I do seriously think we should become like China. People and sex in this country are an absolute mess. They are animals , they do need someone to step in and tell them where there is a limit. And if that means more abortions, ok, people are already having them, nothing i can do about it.
Now on the topic of whether i think its wrong, yes ,yes to me it definitely is. In most cases people know the consequences of sex and yet they're are irresponsible and immature enough to let it be. That fertilized egg is result of their actions, it is their full responsibility.Call me bigoted, but yes I find other views quite distasteful. If its something you made. Have the faith it could be great. In fact i don't care what it will be like, but finish what you started. If you cant, that's dumb get a grip. I really dislike recklessness.
Now i know a lot of people don't think this, its my opinion and obviously im not going to take a vote to make it illegal. If someone doesn't agree with what i believe, then they have every right to do otherwise. Its all in their body, so its their choice.

not to sound mean or anything but we are america because our free choice. Once we become solalist we no longer are free or communist or watever, Our freedom makes us us and my belief i s that if u like the other countries way of running then move there.... plus it is unconstitutional as it is to put a limit on how many children a person can have, its in our first amendment ofour federal constitution. That our bodies are ours, the government or other persons can not infring on our god givven rights... even if that happened i would be the first to fight it becuase i believe in freedom. but i strongly dis agree with there being a limit
As for the abortion thing, its the same reason even political canidates avoid it because how contraversial it is, leave it where it is, not like the women getting the abortion is hurting you or I i mean its their life rather they know the consiquences of sex or not. I wont step in there life and say that they can't just because i believe its wrong no one has that right because it enterfears with our freedoms

Recklessness it may be that causes unwanted pregnancies, but "finish what you started"? please. if its at the expense of the unwanted child having a crappy upbringing, no thankyou.
abortion isnt an easy choice, and i trust that every woman who goes through with one has done so after a very long, hard think about what life would be like for herself, the child and hopefully the father too. and the choice to have the operation is for the sake of the "child" and the parents. ie, they did the smart thing.
just cos you made a stupid mistake with sex doesnt mean you should make a stupid mistake about the rest of your life. THATS dumb.

I am already not in America. So if your body is yours that means it gives you the right to have as much children as you want? Unreasonable. The amount of children you have will not only affect you and your body, but will affect the whole society, and could even be global. Freedom always comes at a price, and the price of over population is greater than the price of declining that freedom of family size.
Yes i agree, its their body, so it is their choice, like i said before.
