[Megami Rizu]

Seth had faintly heard her call out for Sam and he quickened his pace. As he continued down the abandoned road, he transformed back to his normal appearance minus any imp features he had and headed for a bar full of rough men. A place he hoped she wouldn't think to stop in. Walking in the door caused a few of the patrons to turn their heads from the big screen TV that was airing a repeat of some ball game.

"A glass of your strongest stuff." Seth remarked to the short, greasy looking bartender. With a nod, the man poured a mixture of three or four bottles. Seth didn't pay attention to the names on the bottles and when he took a sip, he nearly choked. "I must say... This is strong as hell." Grinning, he swallowed the rest in one gulp.

"Women trouble, right?" The bartender commented, fixing Seth another mixture. Seth looked up at him with a look of surprise. The man chuckled. "I've been in the business for years so I get a lot of lovelorn guys trying to drown out the trouble."

"I'm hoping that drinking will make me think straight for once, actually." Seth answered. He didn't plan on talking to anyone but this man had a vibe on him that made Seth want to talk.

((Sorry for the long delay. Got a little busier than I had planned. But I'm back.))

The man then accompanied Millenia back into the bar and bought her a drink. They started chatting and it didn't take long for her to get him under her control. Soon he was already following her into a hotel. It was dark secluded place, no one even payed any attention who came in or out as long as they payed.
"Come here, honey," she playfully lured him into one of the free rooms.
"I'll give you night you'll never forget...." she smiled charmingly, leaving the poor guy completely dazed.
After a couple of hours Millenia stepped out of the room looking and feeling completely refreshed, yet melancholic. The man followed her out. He was just an empty shell living without any wants or ambitions, a body without a soul...
Millenia payed the clerk and left. It was high time fore her to return. They should be announcing yesterdays results and pairings today at the palace gate.

Seth tossed a wad of cash to cover the many drinks he had and walked out of the bar. He figured it was time now to head back to find out who he was going to be partnered with. The thought of working to win this competition brightened his mood slightly as he escaped from the human world and reverted to his true form.

"Joobi, have they made the announcement yet?" He asked a small, blue water demon. Shaking its head, Seth tossed it a vial of the mixture he had been drinking at the bar. Knowing how Joobi liked its alcohol, he always made sure to bring some back with every visit. He trotted off towards the palace gate where many demons were standing, waiting for the news.

All the way to the palace entrance, Millenia was clutching the newly extracted soul gem in her palm. Only when she finally descended in the crowd she placed the gem along with the one she had from earlier. She should really exchange them later...
Millenia looked around. There were as many demons this morning as it were the other day when the announcement was made. She made her way to the front rows and waited for the high messenger or any of his servants to show up.
It didn't take long for gate to oped and few small imps to appear. They were carrying a huge table and a lot of scrolls of parchment. One of the imps with a loudspeaker flew higher above the crowd.
"Line up, you worthless demons! The decision has been made, line up and you each will get a parchment with your partner's name, now move it!"
Few demons in the line started grumbling how they would catch the critter and pull it's wings out for such behavior.

((That would be amusing to see how Seth would react. So sure. ))

Seth grumbled as a few bulky demons shoved past him. Everyone was abuzz when the imp flew over them and informed them of receiving the parchment. One standing next to Seth had commented on hoping to get lucky and be paired with the hot beauty standing a few feet in front of them. Seth realized that the beauty the demon was talking about was Nia and he let out a groan.

"Good luck, buddy." He remarked as he tried to get into the line that was forming. As the demons, one by one, received their parchments and read off their partner's names, Seth became a little nervous as to who his partner would be.

Since Millenia was standing in one of the front rows, she got her scroll of parchment pretty soon.
"Here you go, now move along!" the imp told her without even raising his head to look at her.
Such a charmer... Millenia thought sarcastically as she stepped aside to let other demons through. She heard some being happy about their partners and some cursing and gritting their teeth if they had any. She felt pretty indifferent about who might her partner be so she opened it without a bigger doubt.
What?! you must be kidding me! she felt a little bit confused when she read the name 'Seth' inscribed inside. After her first wave of emotions subsided, Millenia grinned. Now this aught to be fun.
Knowing Seth wasn't quite fond of her she already started to make plans how she could make his life miserable. Millenia's eyes started to look for Seth, she really wanted to see his facial expression when he finds out who his partner is.

Seth finally managed to get his scroll and had opened it quickly. To his dismay, he saw the name "Millenia" in it. Silently, he cursed his ill luck when he saw her standing nearby. She probably is hoping that I'll be pissed over this. He thought to himself. And he knew that he wasn't as pissed off as he thought. Just a bit upset that his plans of avoiding her were going to be fruitless. He walked towards her and flashed his best smile.

"Nia, it appears we are to be stuck with each other." He remarked with a smirk. "To be the nice guy I am normally not, I do hope we don't have to put up with each other for too long. I'm sure you have some guy who would have preferred to be with you. And one you might have preferred to be bound to."

Millenia listened to him with a smile, to her it seemed like he was just like a good actor reading his lines in front of an audience. However once he mentioned some other guys, she felt her blood pressure beginning to rise. Millenia grit her teeth.
"Rest assured, my dear Seth," she spoke while taking out her soul gems.
"Those who wanted to be with me, already are..." she showed her new soul gem ho him.
"He was very.. Very happy," she smirked. Seth was bound to know how she got them. Millenia kinda hoped that this would make him at least a little bit irritated.
"Oh, and I believe I told you not to call me by that name?" she let him look at the gems for a few seconds more before putting them back into her pouch.

((I wonder if Seth is possessive =D ))

Seth grabbed her arm as she placed the gems back into the pouch and drew her close. With her face mere inches away, he fought back the urge to transform to Sam and see how she'd like that. Letting her go without saying a word, he turned around to walk off.

"I'm glad you made someone happy." He remarked, holding his left hand up to show off one of the gems she had. He knew it was the newest one she acquired based off the reddish tint it had. Taken at the man's highest peak of the night, Seth could only imagine the last thoughts of the poor human. "And I'll call you Nia as much as I want."

She gasped when Seth grabbed her arm. It hurt, her heart started racing as she saw him so close even though he looked so mad. Millenia was already tensing and preparing for a fight, but... He let her go.
"What is the Meaning of this? Seth?!"
She wanted to follow him, but stopped in her tracks when he showed her the gem.
"Seth, give that back! Give me back that gem." she started pacing slowly towards him. She quickly glanced around, some demons were starting to notice their argument, but most of them were minding their own business.
We should settle this before it becomes a huge ruckus... she thought and quickened her pace.

Seth quickened his pace as he headed for a nice spot to do what he felt needed to be done. He could hear Nia following him and he let out a deep sigh as he mustered the courage to face her wrath.

"Nia..." Seth started to say once they arrived at an abandoned building, one that he normally hung out at when he wasn't getting into trouble. Before she could say anything, he slowly started to change into Sam.

"I do expect you to start your ranting before I finish what I have to say." Seth/Sam remarked, smirking slightly. He was trying hard to put up a front so she couldn't see that he wasn't as confident as he was hoping to appear to be. "I told you it was a mistake to worry about me. 'Sam' isn't some helpless sap that could have been influenced by a lust demon. But 'Sam', rather I, was worried that the... woman would have done something to hurt you." He glanced off to the side before tossing the gem back to Nia. "Why the hell do I care if something happens to you?"

((Third attempt ...))

Millenia was following him without slowing her pace down. Finally she saw Seth stopping and she was about to throw a fit, but then it happened. She felt her body begin to petrify. How could this be? How could Seth and Sam be the same person... Why... Why would he do that? Questions ran through her mind and she could barely hear and understand what he was trying to say.
"How... could you?" she let out a whisper.
Millenia felt her blood pressure rise again, she was enraged. Slowly the nails on her right hand started to grow and shift into sharp claws.
"Do you consider me that low of a demon?" she started."Do you think I'm not strong enough to defend myself?"
She began to raise her voice as her body regained the gift of movement.
"Do you really think so little of me?!" her eyes were blazing.
"Well, I'll show you just how capable I can be!" with those words the darted at him, her claws aiming right to his gut.
Move, defend yourself! somewhere deep inside her a voice pleaded him.

Seth prepared himself for the beating he knew Nia was going to give him. A voice deep down told him that he was crazy if he let her hit him but Seth felt that he deserved it somewhat. And he also hoped that she didn't have it in her to kill him. "No..." He said quietly as she fumed. "I don't think of you in that way..." As she drew closer, he remained in the powered down form of Sam. There was no doubt in his mind that if he transformed into his normal form that she would be more likely to get hurt when he felt the tips of her claws grazed his stomach.

As the wound began to bleed, Seth fell down to the ground. Groaning, he forced himself to change back so the wound wouldn't be fatal. As all of this had happened, neither had noticed the shadow of another demon spying on them. It flitted around a few times before disappearing for good. Seth cursed under his breath as the wound slowly healed. Nia had great aim and he was foolish to have taken that blow in Sam's body. His shirt was stained crimson as he stood up and frowned.

((Wound up pretty much computer-less all week.))

Millenia felt her head going blank as the warm blood of a person in front of her reached her hand. It was warm... She quickly pulled her claws out and her hand returned to normal. She was Sam.... No, Seth, falling on the ground from the wound she had inflicted. At that moment she wasn't thinking much, actually, it was extremely hard to gather any thoughts at all and realize what she ha done.
She spun around.
"You should have dodged it..." she said silently, her body was starting to tremble and she clenched her fists in order to stop herself from shaking.
"You should have defended yourself, you big Idiot!" she picked up the gem and instantly flew away afraid to look back at him.

"IS that what you wanted me to do, Nia?" Seth questioned her as she disappeared. The wound had stopped bleeding but it still ached. Her words stung more than the actual wound and he couldn't figure out why she wanted him to dodge it. "I guess I am an idoit." He softly remarked to himself, as he made his way to his place. The loss of blood really drained him and he didn't thin there was a need to worry with the competition just yet.

((It's fine. Just had a PS3 sitting on it during the week and I wasn't going to move it.))
