Tainted Ones

Not exactly sure as to what to do, Lilian decided with sitting back and watching the show unfold. Zuvri was being taken care of, and what Kira was dealing with was rather interesting. Crazy people always were.

Usually, Lilian preferred observing, only taking action when she knew that she could be of help. It was better than worsening the situation with a half-baked attempt at aid. She looked back at Zuvri. That liquid they used on him was strange, and she could tell from his body language that it burned on application. Yes, some healing devices burned, but not that bad. If she was needed, she would jump up to help. Until then, though, she would sit back.

Kira let her swords slide back into their sheaths but kept her hands on the hilts to be at the ready. “Let’s say I believe you, and that your potion there does what you say it does.” Kira said still very wary of the men especially the larger one. She knew that even though he looked like a lumbering oaf that he was probably very skilled in combat at least to some extent.
“Would you be willing to let me have a look at it so I can at least discern what it is?” She said to them expecting the answer to be no and them to deny that the potion was anything harmful to anyone. She had dealt with a case like this one time before. False priests had been placing poison in Drow wounds because their eyes had glowed red.
Everyone at that time had already known that a Drow’s eyes flashed red when in the dark to signify that their eyes had switched to infravison. So she was worried that it might be a similar case this time around. She only hoped it wasn’t.

Zuvri decided to sit next to Lilian. He didn't really feel like getting close to the priests once more. Sure, his arm didn't hurt anymore, but they still were not the kind of people he liked around him. If needed though, he was ready to go help Kira. He jsut hoped she would need it.

"Uh," the two men exchanged a look when Kira asked to see the bottle, apparently not sure of what to do. "Uh, yeah, you can see it..." the smaller of the two, apparently the leader, said while his partner handed the almost empty bottle to the drow woman. "A priest gave it to us when the battle ended. Dunno who it was, since he had some sort of hood covering most of his head, but from the decorations of his robe, he looked like an important figure of some clergy," the man pursued, trying to explain himself as best as he could.

"He said that we should heal as many people as possible with it, thought it would burn upon application, but it would soon be alright. It's how it takes the taint out of you, or something like that," he added, exchanging one more look with his partner. "It... seems to have worked on the people we have treated... Is there something wrong with it?" he finally asked, worried about what was going on.

Kira took the bottle and smelled it. It didn’t smell like any poison she knew of but that didn’t necessarily mean anything. “Describe this person robes exactly.” She said after a moment. Thinking about it, normal priests didn’t hide their faces not usually. She wondered if an old group was beginning to rise again. If so then the war that everyone thought was over might begin all over again.

“I am taking this to the priestess of the guild.” She said using a globe of darkness to disappear before the men could object. She loved that ability it was always useful to make a hasty escape not even magical lights could penetrate it.

“Neesi, I have something for you.” She said approaching the priestess. “It’s that supposed medicine that some odd looking priest’s were using.” She said handing the bottle to her.
“Good I will analyze this right away.” Neesi said taking the bottle into another area to begin discerning what it was.

[Maeve]

"Uh, the robe was black, with silvery details and some dark red too... I didn't really took the time to look him up much..." the priest barely had the time to say before the drow woman disappeared in a ball of shadows. The man let go a small curse before returning to a nearby mercenary who had receive a large chest wound during the fight and proceeding to help him like normal priests did, using bandages and sacred prayers. I hope we're not in trouble, he thought nervously as he made a sign to his partner to come and help him.

Zuvri jumped as Kira disappeared in a globe of darkness.. and reappeared not too far from them, handing a bottle to Neesi. He got up and walked up to her. "So, did you find anything?" he asked the other drow. He was a bit worried about what he had been given, and mostly about what effect it could have on other people. The young man was in a healthy state and could support many things, but the wounded mercenaries didn't all have that much luck. There were already enough deaths for the day.

"I was able to get that potion as they called it away from them." Kira said contemplating the color of the robes the two men described. "I don't believe those two really knew what they were doing they just thought they were helping in some odd manner." She said thinking about more of how the men had acted and there manner. She didn't truly think they were the masterminds behind any plot but she had been wrong before.

"I am going to be keeping my eye on them and on the lookout for dark robes that have silver and red embellishments on them. For now all we can do is wait on Neesi's findings on that weird potion." Kira said starting to pace as she spoke and thought. Her long hair falling from its high ponytail to her lower back. "Going to have to get that cut and redyed." She muttered as and after thought still pacing.

A person in a dark robe... Lilian wasn't sure if she had seen somebody like that or not, but the person sounded sinister. She shuddered, her hand touching her covered eye. Maybe this person was like her... but not like her, because they willingly let the demon control them. People like that were an abomination, and must be destroyed at all costs. And though she might not be able to go up against one on her own, especially with her banishment spells gone, she could at least help.

"Excuse me, Kira..." she walked up to the Drow, speaking softly. "Would you like some help looking for the robed person? I could check around outside."

" That might actually be quite helpful." Kira said stopping her paceing and pushing her hair out of her face. She yawned realizing that it was still rather late at night and that she hadn't slept.

" Of course I think sleep is in order for a real plan to be put into place." She said laying down on a nearby cot to get some sleep." We can take more solid and proper measures once some sleep has been had." She said as she closed her eyes and went to sleep

"I can help look for that man too," Zuvri said as he got closer to the others. He really wanted to know what was going on, and apparently interrogating the two priests would not help them much. He wasn't a really good tracker, but he was still a drow and had the keen senses of his specie. "Well, later, I guess," he added as Kira laid down on a nearby cot and proposed they get some sleep first.

The young man had not realized it before, but he was getting tired too. With a sigh, he headed for a cot not too far from the other drow and laid down on it. He crossed his arms behind his head and waited for sleep to come, still keeping his senses alert in case something happened. He didn't want to be surprised by some demons, or something else.

Kira slept somewhat unsoundly. At one point she shot straight up on her cot. Her dreams was one of the reasons she preferred her own private room. Because she had barely muffled the scream from the dream that had awoke her. It was always the same dream it never seemed to go away. She supposed that was the reason she didn't keep people close any longer. The last people she had, her own family had died a horrendous death right before her eyes because of it. "Why must you always haunt my dreams so Loth." She said to herself as she rose off her cot.

It wasn't anywhere near sunrise she guessed she had only slept about an hour before her nightmares roused her. If she had been in her room she would have made a half assed attempt at falling back to sleep. But being out in the open like this made her insecure about her own feelings. Demons thought she fought them scared her immensely she had seen what they could do to a clan in a matter of minutes. If it hadn't been for a regime of a neighboring clan she would have met the same fate as her sisters and mother.

It had sent her into madness for quite some time having lost her clan. Somehow Loth allowed her to regain a minor hold on her sanity though she always walked the edge. "Guess I should draw up a strategy to catch these dark robed fools." She said sitting at a nearby table gathering some paper and writing utensils. [/b]

Lilian always had a hard time sleeping. Something about her tainted blood kept her up at night. In fact, she felt more energetic once the sun set. As she saw Kira move, she walked over to the table and sat down across from her.

She had already been outside that night, and there was nobody too suspicious-looking walking around. Then again, she wasn't exactly used to the city, and even at this hour there were people out and about. At her usual hiding places everybody would've been asleep by now.

[Tsemara]

From the shadows, Jenna had watched Kira disappear, leaving the men to their own devices. She didn't believe that this was the wisest course of action, but the drow couldn't be expected to do everything by herself. The vampire supposed that she could help out, if only by keeping an eye on the suspicious men.

Hopefully, they would lead her to the mystery cloaked man they had mentioned. Or he would approach them, whatever came first. Late or not, she could stand to stay up. Recently fed, she would have the energy to act until the others had a chance to rest.

Kira looked up a Lillian and gave a curious look. "Couldn't sleep as well, I take it." She said crumpeling up another peice of paper. Her drawing skills weren't that great in fact she really couldn't draw so the paper was really just an outlet to help her attmept to fall back asleep.

"If I woke you I applogize I try to keep quite." She said stiffling a yawn her mind telling her to go back to sleep but her body wide awake.

Zuvri was sleeping deeply for once, probably because of the energy he had left into the fight, and to heal his wound. He was even dreaming, a rare thing for the young drow. Although, it was probably closer to a nightmare than an actual dream.

At the beginning, he was walking through a deserted plain under a deep purple sky. Nothing was that special. Then, he stumbled onto a small fair, and noticed a fortune-teller booth. He entered and found Lilian, though she was different. He couldn't explain it well, but something in her felt weird, not fully elfish. He sat down and she told him something about his future, but before he could understand what it was, everything melted in a whirlwind of deep blues and purples.

He felt like he was fainting, and when he woke up, everything around him was black and dark. He could hear yells in the distance, but he couldn't figure out where they came from. A bit panicked, he tried to got up, and suddenly a large spider appeared above him.

The dream stopped there. Zuvri woke up, startled, panting and sweating a little. He sat in his bed, trying to understand what had happened. After a minute, he shook his head and chased his thoughts, annoyed. It seemed like tonight wouldn't be so restful finally. With a sigh, he stood up and went for a small walk. Noticing Kira and Lilian sitting at a table, he decided to join them and sat down beside them.

"Good evening!" Lilian looked over at the slightly shaken Zuvri. "Is anything wrong?" She asked, feeling somewhat concerned. She had had many a strange dream before. The elf absentmindedly pulled her cards out of their pouch and started shuffling them, laying them out on the table. She wasn't looking for any apparent meaning with this, just seeing what was at the top of the deck at the time.

The first card to appear had five men on it, each holding a staff. They seemed to be fighting over something, but the something that was the source of conflict could not be seen. "The five of wands... that actually makes a bit of sense." She chuckled quietly to herself.
