Well..I've never played that plot. :P So it's not standard for me.
And if I'm honest, it doesn't sound like something I would roleplay, which is probably why I haven't before.
How about: A person is taken from the streets by a scientist, who injects them with things and adds things onto them so that they are "improved". The person escapes and finds his way onto the streets of a big city, where character B finds them and invites them into their house. They have to find out what's happened to Character A and evade the scientist...
So like A goes to B's school, where they find it really easy, or something.

How about the slave has just been given to the princess person as a gift, but has been beaten and stuff before, so is really cowed. The princess would like to know more about the slave, and so tries to get him to come out of his shell?
Yare - What did you think of the plot I suggested?
