| Jordan listened to Dr. Blacks reply as she rushed to another set of shadows. When she was settled in and was sure it safe to talk, the puma woman opened her channel again. "Alright. I'll let you know when we arrive. I might just stay there for a bit before coming back. But I'll let you know for sure."
She didn't know who the doctor would send to evaluate the crow woman above her. But if one or the other freaked out, or something got complicated, she wanted to be on hand to help. Though she did tell Lei that they would talk. Wait, they'd talk when she came back, not necessarily the next morning.
The feline hybrid waited a moment more as a late night driver passed. Then she was off again. They were nearing the business district, warehouses in the distance. She kept her eyes open for the electronics store. Jordan needed to run past the next set of shadows. Guard dogs barked loudly as she passed, attracting unwanted attention. They followed the cross breed along the fence, barking long after she had passed them by.

| Corvus rode the thermals, following Jordan as she made her way down the street. She didn't exactly know what to expect, but she knew that it would be better to play nice than to show any form of resistance. If anybody was at this supposedly "safe spot" waiting to attack her and take her back to some sort of lab, though, she would NOT go peacefully. That was a fact.
She could hear the dogs below barking. Corvus hated dogs. Much too noisy. They always gave her away. And in her line of work, being given away was never the best.

| Jordan was beginning to think that she was never going to find their destination. There were so many buildings to choose from. Did she go the wrong way? She was on the right street. She rested in a spot of shadows, wondering what she ought to do. She could call Dr. Black. But she had gotten this far with out help. Maybe just a couple more buildings before contacting the doctor.
The puma hybrid was off again. Something a block and a half down looked like it could be a little shop of sorts. When she got closer she was that it was the little store that Dr. Black had told her about. Jordan grinned wearily as she slowed. The lights were off, inside. Which wasn't unusual at this hour, whatever it might have been.
The warehouse was guarded by imposing walls and a heavy duty gate, like a majority of the other buildings. There were cameras, that might or might not have been active. But the buzzing that was present whenever Jordan was close to running electricity was back. There was some kind of security system there too. They would pose no problem for Corvus. But Jordan would either need to find a way to break in, or get some advice from Dr. Black.
Jordan waved to Corvus. The other girl should know that they reached their destination.

| Corvus saw the signal from her companion and landed on the building's roof. "You're sure this is the place?" She asked as she glided down from the roof and landed next to her. She looked around. Corvus wasn't fond of these kinds of areas. Even when she lived with the Carapellis she rarely went outside, and when she did it was in the family's private garden, a small area that no outsider could reach.
Places that were populated made her nervous. Mostly because she was afraid that somebody would see her and then she'd get caught again. And that was one thing she never wanted to happen again.

| Jordan waited for Corvus to land on the ground before replying. She nodded, noticing the crow mutants' unease. "This is the place I was told to bring you to. We'll wait here until one of the doctors checks you out. Makes sure you're healthy and stuff. It's what we do with all the mutants that come in."
She turned to point at the small store they were hiding behind. "The people here know that the warehouse is a shelter for mutants. So you don't need to worry about them ratting us out. But I wouldn't putz around outside, just in case." She sighed then looked back at Corvus. "You shouldn't have any problems getting over the wall. I'll get over eventually and meet you inside. There's food, beds, restrooms, and other things to make your stay a bit more comfortable."

| Corvus's heart started to race at the mere mentioning of doctors. She knew that these most likely meant good, but she still couldn't help but get a tad nervous. Next to police officers and military men, doctors were her least favorite people. Taking a deep breath, she nodded. "Alright. I'll see you when you come around." She leapt into the air, easily soaring over the wall.
When she touched ground again, she heard the sound of gravel crunching under her talons and jumped. Loose stone was always too noisy for her tastes. It gave away locations way too easily. She made her way to the warehouse as quietly as possible. Partially out of habit, and partially because she still was unsure if it was a trap.

| Jordan noticed a change in Corvus's demeanor. It seemed that the crow mutant was as apprehensive about being around doctors as she and Lei were. Considering the way the other mutant looked, she wasn't too surprised, especially if she was a natural. They would have had a field day with her, back at the school. The puma woman suppressed a shudder at the thought.
She watched the crow hybrid enter the facility for a moment before trying to find a way to enter. After some consideration, she made a set of less than graceful leaps from the ground, to the roof of the electronics building, to the top of the barrier wall. "Should have asked for a key or something," she muttered before dropping to the ground on the other side.
The gravel was noisy, in her ears at least, upon her landing. It crunched under her feet as she attempted to sneak into the building. The larger doors, meant for deliveries were locked shut. As were the pedestrian doors. The windows were too high, even for her to jump to. And even if she could jump to them, they weren't the kind that opened, anyway. Outside of one of the smaller doors was a keypad.
Jordan ran her fingers through her hair as she thought about the different access codes the Guardians had used over the past year. She began poking the pad as she tried the codes, one by one. Her tail lashed in frustration as she slowly ran out of passwords. She was about to contact Dr. Black when there was a 'kachunk' sound as the lock disengaged.
She opened the door and gestured for Corvus to enter. She followed behind the other hybrid. Then, she closed the door, making sure it locked behind her. "Well, here we are," she announced quietly.

| Corvus heard the click of the lock and got a little nervous. She looked around. No open windows, so there were no means of escape if things started to look bad. Hopefully she could trust the people in this place. Really, she had no choice but to trust them at the moment. Hopefully whoever was in this building was completely trustworthy.
"Alright... now what?" She looked around. It was dark in the building, so she was having a hard time seeing anything inside.

| "Give me a second to find a light that won't give us away," Jordan looked about. She didn't want to go about turning on lights that would give people reason to investigate the usually quiet warehouse. There was a room nearby that would probably allow for some light, and still some privacy. She padded over to the room, searching. "There's a light switch around here somewhe...oh, it's over there," she mumbed to herself. With a flick the light went on. The feline woman blinked a couple times while her eyes switched from nightvision to artificial lighting.
"Come here," Jordan waved at Corvus, whom she had left at the entrance of the building. With the light on, the crow woman could see her guide clearly. The puma hybrid poked about the room, investigating. "Okay, somewhere in here there should be some beds, and a place to eat, and a restroom or a bathroom. I don't remember which. I figure we can explore the place, as long as we don't turn on any lights that can be seen from the outside."
She paused a moment, thinking. "I'll go see if I can contact the person who sent me, and let them know we arrived safely."

| "Thank you." Corvus waved to Jordan as she walked off. Then she headed towards one of the beds and undid her bag. After fishing around, she pulled out a paper and a pen. Gingerly taking the pen in her claw (it took a TON of practice to get it right), she started to write.
I think I may be one step closer. Ran into somebody who may be part of the Guardians. Not exactly sure yet, but I've got a hunch. Expect more news later. Hopefully good.
It was short, but it got her message across. She buried the paper at the bottom of her bag. She'd send it by hawk tomorrow when she was outside again. No need to arouse suspicion by bringing one in.

| Jordan wandered around the building, looking at various items stored inside. She managed to find the kitchen, and rummaged through the cupboards. There was some food stored, and the food in the fridge looked like it had been placed there recently. There was little that appealed to the carnivore, but Corvus might be able to eat a majority of this stuff.
She figured she was far enough away to contact Dr. Black. She opened the line. "Doc, we've arrived at the warehouse safely. I'm going to stay here for a bit. Corvus didn't look comfortable with the thought of doctors or anyone else coming by. I'm thinking she might have had a bad experience with them. And she's an animals hybrid. I want to be able to help out in case one of them freak out. What do you think?" The puma hybrid got herself a cup of water as she waited for the doctors' reply.

| Dr. Black had just hung up when the voice resonated through her speakers. She took a few seconds to ponder. Although she was certain the person she was sending would know how to react, she didn't knew anything about the new mutant, except from the few informations Jordan had given her. With the little chance they had, she could be some kind of freak just waiting to eat the first person she would see... Well, hopefully not. The woman pressed the button and answered to Jordan.
"That's good," she said, pleased to hear that they didn't have a problem reaching the warehouse. "And you can stay as long as you want, if you think it's useful. Although, you won't be able to travel much in daylight, so just be careful about that." She had asked her contact to reach the warehouse as soon as possible, but she knew it could take a certain time. Even if Jordan would probably realize by herself that being outside in the middle of a town during the day wasn't a good idea, she preferred to remind her.
"The warehouse is safe though, so even if you stay there all day long, you'll be fine," she took the time to add, not wanting the other to get worried. "I've asked my contact to get there as fast as he could, but I don't know when he'll arrive. You can always call me if you need anything though." The blond waited to see if the mutant girl had anything to add before she hung up.

| Jordan nodded absently as the doctor spoke. The hybrid knew better to travel during the day, especially without some kind of disguise. However, the doctor probably wanted to make sure the mutant knew what she was committing herself to, and wanted her to be safe. She finished her water, washed the cup, and put it away. The older womans' contact was on his way, but there was no way to know how long he would take to get there, or how long he'd need to stay.
"I'm hoping that I'm not going to be needed, but I'd rather stay just in case," Jordan replied, confirming her plans. "I'm not about to go outside in the daylight, and I think Corvus will feel the same way. We should be fine." She paused for a bit, thinking about Dr. Black last sentence. The older woman needed to sleep some time.
"I'm thinking about turning off the headset, to keep the battery from running out. But I don't want to be cut off in case we need to get in touch. Do you know how long it should last?" The puma woman was concerned. And, truth be told, the device was beginning to bug her.

| Black took a few seconds to think. The batteries were full when she gave the kit to Jordan, or at least she thought so. So normally, they could last for a while, considering Jordan wasn't letting the set on at all time. Yet, she wasn't sure how much energy it took for the signal to reach the Guardians' underground hideout, and it was better to be safe than sorry. After all, her contact could also take a while to reach the girls. She let go a small sigh before she answered.
"I'm pretty sure it can last for some time, a few hours maybe..." she paused for a few more seconds, trying to gather her thoughts. The lack of sleep was starting to affect her. "You can take it off if you want," she finally said, remembering how uncomfortable Jordan look with the clip on her ear. "The warehouse is a safe spot, so you shouldn't have any problem while you stay there anyway. I'm pretty sure there's also at least one phone somewhere in there, if you really need it... Just make sure you keep the communication device close, in case something happens." She waited for an answer, waiting to see if the girl had any question left.

| Dr. Black sounded tired. All the more reason for Jordan to stop calling the woman. It was rather late, and the older woman was usually asleep at this hour. At least, that's what the mutant thought. She nodded to herself, after a few moments in thought. "Alright. I'll take the device off. But you'll keep the line open, just in case I turn it back on, right? I've never had to call, so I don't know the number, even if I could find a phone," she admitted. "I'll be fine. You get some rest.
"I'll call in the morning after your contact leaves, if nothing happens between then and now," Jordan added. Hopefully, that would put the doctors' mind at ease enough to hang up for the night.
