| Mostly insanity, with eerie moments of clarity?
I like it.

| Yes pretty much I haven't had a char like that in a while so she might seem quite normal at first.

| I love crazy characters. Well, as long as they are crazy at the good times. Getting all weird in the middle of a battle is rarely a good thing...
Anyway, I was thinking of having 4 team, as we said before.
- One is government-related, some sort of elite military if you want. They don't have special pet, but rather robots/ motorized vehicles/ other technological work to help them. They are good at moving without being noticed and are stronger when working in group.
- The second group is an opposing faction to the main government. They can't live too close to the places where the main gov. is, and thus they have chosen to reside in the high mountains bordering the country. They are a mix of a lot of races and clans, and thus their appearance varies a lot. They have a special mount creatures, as well as another small thing. Not sure what they will be, but basically the mount can also act as guard, and the small thing as a scout and messenger.
- The third group... I was thinking, maybe a exploration/archeologic group. They basically seek to learn the most about some ancient races and some greater technologies. They often work with the government, since it pays for their missions, but they are not directly related to it. They have a good technological base (vehicles and exploration devices mostly), but also some special pets. They live mostly in the desert area to the south, where some ancient ruins have been found.
- The fourth... I'm not sure about this one, really
Maybe a more priest-like group, emerging from a local clergy. Their goal is less clear, but they can help anyone in need, even enemies. Thus, they are welcomed by the three other groups, yet they are often watched because it is said that the government sometimes hides secret agent amongst them and use them to spy on the other groups.
Basically, at the beginning of the game, a new ruin has been discovered. It seems bigger than the ones found before and rumors say it contain some amazing artifacts from the ancient world. Thus the gov. sends people to check it. The rebels don't want the thing - whatever it can be - to fall in the gov. hands, and send people too. The archeo are already on place for their research, but only a small number is allowed in the ruins, for security. And the priests are there to assure the safety of whatever group they work for this time... and maybe something else.

| Oh You just gave me a perfect reason as to why my char has gone mad and joined the reble faction or something like that.

| Well Vaila was a member of the governemnet faction at one point in her life. She was an invetor of sorts makeing machines and such for the government to use. Well one day while working on a robot she was informed of something that didn't set to well with her and she basically went plum loco not sure what to say happened without more work but I have a name and somewhat general idea.
My imagineing of steam punk comes from Trigun, Steamboy *Which I need to watch again* An final fantasy 9 so I am still trying to hash several things out for this char to posibly work. You might have to give me some time though been a while since I have watched anything steampunk related so you will have to give me a bit oh time.

| Alright, I'm officially rehashing Lady Cecilia Halifax to go from being a "Proper Lady" to a female Indiana Jones.
It's official.

| Is there any "Unaligned" group? Or something close to it?

| Archeos or Priests are technically unaligned.
- Archeos worked under the gov. most of the time, but it's more of a good teamwork then anything else. If the gov. was to do something with their discoveries that they didn't like, they would most likely fight against it.
- The Priests are really unaligned. Most of them have sworn to help people in need, and thus they don't care if the person they help is part of any group or just a normal citizen. Of course, some other part of the clergy also has some other plan, but most of the normal priests don't know it yet.
And the Priests are not all actually priests (i.e healers of some sort): some of them specialized in other thing (mechanics, fighters, scouts, etc.), and they work with the real priests and serve to guide and protect them on their mission.
There's also a part of the population that isn't part of any group. You know, the typical townsfolk. Of course, because of their personality, some of them could be closer to one of the main group, but in general they can be considered a neutral mass.

| @Koyi: When I think Steampunk, I think of Miyazaki films. Castle in the Sky, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Howl's Moving Castle... all favorites of mine.
And character-wise, Miss Cecilia Halifax/Sarah Havers has a backstory talking about her transformation from proper victorian lady to talented archaeologist!
My muse lives at and near Burger King.

| I also thought miyazaki mysepf I just didn't mention it lol still work my my car not sure what to name her really she had a proper name while working for the milatary well government as an inventor, but when she well went round the bend if you will she hasn't responded to that name.
I want to put her proper namr and crazy name but I need to think more on it. She's not really against the military or government so much as there methods of getting there way if you will. I still have a lot of work to go on this char especially what she will look like or how you should imagine her to look iswhat I really mean.
Also at work running on energy drinks coffee and headache meds woo.
