I do believe a few of the troublemaking ringleaders in the whole Solia Newbie Bashing got banned or disciplined either for the newbie bashing, or for further transgressions after said bashing.. I've seen a few names about and they're all calmer and nicer, and I've heard about the bannings of a few other names.
For me it was frustrating having all of those confused new Solians, many of whom it seemed were incapable of reading rules, stickies, or advice on how not to get into trouble, but it was pretty uncool to assume that all newbies were going to behave that way and start bashing everybody

I also do the whole Crysandrian forest thing, and I also am very put off by the forum layout.. it's so difficult to get to anything there..

I used to go on Zantarni a lot, until I realized how simple it was to amass thousands and thousands of gold with minimal effort, and how impossible it was to sell anything on the marketplace there, and how difficult it was to talk to anyone in the forums because it was nearly dead all of the time and the few who did still talk were this insular group who constantly made inside jokes and comments that went over my head..

Ahh, there was many a day when I would run off of the computer frustrated by the horrible way some of my fellow oldbies on Solia were treating newbies. From almost the beginning of '09, I was one of the most active members in the Welcome Inn! forum, and was known for my threads there from a great number of users that I had welcomed to the site. Every time I stepped into a TS thread that contained the bashing of a new member, it took considerable self restraint to not leave the old, bashing user with a wall of hate text. I'll be honest, there was one time I wasn't successful with holding myself back, and really put a user in his place, but that happens from time to time, right? I'm glad to hear we're doing better on the welcome front, though, much thanks to Postie and her new thread (not really new, I guess it's a few months old now), though. ^^

As for feedback on other sites, I have very little to say. For the last two years, I've been selectively and solely on Solia. I go to other sites for a day or so, but then I always get drawn back in! I do admit I have taken a rather long hiatus, but that won't happen again, I'm fairly certain.

Oh, but sweet Midorea, you have such potential. I can feel it dragging me in, though ever slightly. xD

I remember that too. I used to go there and post in 5 threads at the same time OTL
and posting in their threads to remind them of the rules. I'm happy now that Post it Note, Jordyn and Constructivism are 'modding' Welcome Inn xD

Don't forget Mami, our official micro-mod in the Welcome Inn. She mostly just pushes threads to where they belong but she's been a huge help to me when troubles have popped up.

Wow. Seems I had a well-timed long hiatus over on Solia. I completely missed that fiasco.

It really has gotten a lot better since the whole newbie-bashing fiasco last summer. But for whatever reason, August seems to be the rush time for newbies. Lately there's been a big surge of them. Not sure if they're sticking around past the downtime, though... maybe it'll weed out the impatient ones, at least?

@Sky: While I appreciate the offer, I don't think that I'll join Solia. ^^; It's nothing about the site or community, but Midorea already takes up a lot of my time as it is. I'll be returning to school in two weeks too, so it's probably best that I avoid any other sites.
