Ghostly problems (Me and Maverik)

[Maverik]

"Will the same general idea of 'shoot them until they stop moving' work?" The skeleton knew his fighting style wasn't too insipired, but he'd been using a gun for his entire career. Sure, he knew some hand-to-hand combat, but Vanis generally relied of the killing device in his hands, and at the end of the day, it was his gun that did the most damage.

[Yare]

'Not if we want to interrogate them afterwards,' Ynx said. 'They have to be coherent to do that.'

[Maverik]

"I guess the main question is 'Do we want to interrogate them?' They may or may not have more useful information than the clones..."
The skeleton looked towards the center of the cafeteria, gazing at the clock on the wall as he checked the time.
"Hmm... Our ride won't be here for another half an hour or so." The skeleton muttered, mainly to himself, as he turned away from the clock.

[Yare]

'We do want to interrogate them,' Ynx said. 'They can probably tell us why this whole thing is going on. The clones can't.'

[Maverik]

"I thought we originally wanted to interrogate the clones..." Vanis shrugged, rising up from his seat as he made his way to one of the drink dispensers. Filling his plastic cup with a carbonated beverage, the skeleton couldn't help but wonder what other stuff would pop up during the mission. There was absolutely no mention of other ghosts from the initial briefing, and lack of proper intelligence was usually the leading cause of death for most people in his field of work.

[Yare]

'Something like this is rarely coordinated by just a couple of ghosts without help from anyone else,' Ynx said when Vanis came back. 'Besides, if they're out of Death, we have to find out why they are anyway. It may or may not be connected to the case.'

[Maverik]

"But I thought the 'help' was the human that the target contacted." The skeleton looked at Ynx oddly, wondering what other information he was supposed to have known. There was only mention of one ghost, one human, and the possibility of clones in the initial conversation, after all.

[Yare]

'I've had other missions like this,' Ynx said. 'Two people can't do it on their own.' She looked at Vanis. 'How many missions like this do you do?'

[Maverik]

"By missions like this, do you mean the ghost part? Or the traitor-communicating-with-another-side part?" Vanis tilted his head to one side, staring at the ghost oddly.

[Yare]

'What I mean is complex missions, with more than one leader working toward a complex goal we haven't figured out yet,' Ynx said. 'I know you haven't worked with ghosts before.'

[Maverik]

[Maverik]

"Ah." The skeleton paused for a moment as he thought back to his missions. He had encountered a few scenarios like that, but his line of work mainly consisted of him enlisting into grunt work. There weren't very many instances where he would act as more than cannon fodder, a role he seemed to be adept at.

"Sort of. Usually, though, I'm assigned to specific tasks, rather than overarching goals, so I don't see too many megalomaniac individuals for me to antagonise."

(It's okay.)

Ynx nodded. 'I see,' she said. 'These ones are harder than you're used to. It'll probably take a while.'

[Maverik]

"I don't doubt that..." Vani merely nodded in response to the ghost's words, finishing off the rest of his drink before discarding the cup. "Are you ready? Our ride will be here soon."
