LadyHarpy and Maeve

[Maeve]

"Just my luck," Mel pestered as she moved closer to the tunnel entrance, pushing an old spider web away to check how the path was. "Yeah, it looks safe," she said to Sam, backing off a little and looking at the hole far above her head.

"Want to come with me?" she asked with a sheepish smile, not really feeling like going into the dark tunnel alone. Just as she said that though, a small part of the hole's border collapsed, just beside where Sam was.

"Oh cra-" Sam started to say as the ground broke and se fell into the darkness.

When she hit the bottom so goaned and satup.

"It doesn't look like i have much of a choice any more."

[Maeve]

Mel just had the time to back up in the tunnel's entrance before pieces of dirt and rocks - and Sam - fell into the hole. As soon as the dust settled and she could see something, she went closer to Sam. "Hmm, yeah," she said, looking up at the hole for a second. "Anyway," she added, bringing her attention back on the other girl, "are you ok?"

"I'm fine, sore, but fine." Sam said as she stood up.

[Maeve]

"Good, sorta," Mel said, a bit annoyed by the situation. Once they had stolen the book from the thieves, she had thought it would have been an easy mission, just going back to the old guy and getting their reward. But here they were now, at the bottom of a large hole...

The catgirl sighed and grabbed her bag, running through her stuff until she found a torch. She lighted it and motioned toward the entrance of the tunnel. "Ready?" she asked to Sam as she looked above her shoulder to see if the other girl was ok.

Sam stood and dusted herself off.

"As ready as I'll ever be." She replied.

[Maeve]

Mel looked in front of her, pushing some old spiderwebs with her right hand to prevent them from touching the torch and burning up. Walking in an old tunnel full of small rocks and dust was already painful enough without having burning things right above your head. The catgirl sighed, slowly making her way in the ruined path. "The people who have lived here must have been really small," she thought, her head almost touching the ceiling at some places.

After a couple minutes of walking, Mel stopped, suddenly noticing something. "I think we're heading down," she said, realizing that the path was a light downward slope. It wasn't much of a problem, but still, the catgirl would have much preferred getting back to the surface directly... She shook her head and resumed her pace, wondering where this path was leading.

Sam followed Mel, trying to avoid the spiderwebs the best she could. The small height of the tunnel made it so that she was nearly bending completely over. She looked to Mel when she mentioned going down.

"Well there's no other way to go as of yet so we might as well keep going."

[Maeve]

Mel pursued her walk until the path finally opened on a larger, and higher, chamber. It was quite big, and dusty like the rest of the path. Some small pools of water were shining on the floor, beside piles of broken rocks. The torch's light was too weak to light the other side of the room.

Mel moved in, just enough so that Sam could to, and stopped, looking around the room. She didn't liked that kind of places. Dark, with many spots to hide... She moved the torch around, trying to see more clearly where they were.

Sam entered the chamber and frowned. This kind of place gave her the creeps and everything. She held her staff at the ready and kept her eyes open for attacks.

Mel made a couple steps forward, all her senses in alert in case something happened. Noticing everything seemed fine, she quickly returned to her normal, relax attitude. She took a small pause, wondering what this place was.

"Doesn't look like a mine," she said, more for herself than anything else. The room appeared to have been cut out in stone, and was large enough to accommodate a good crowd. It was empty though, with no sign of the usual tables and chairs you would have expected to see.

Melody looked back at Sam. "Found anything interesting?", she asked.

Sam relaxed a bit when Mel did and looked around the room.

"It looks big enought to live in, do you think it might have been a home to an animal of some sort?"

[Maeve]

"Recently, maybe," Mel said as she looked around the room. She didn't smell any typical animal scent, but that doesn't mean much. "Though I doubt an animal could have created this room." She walked away from Sam a little, taking a look at the wall to see if anything could give her some answers.

"What about Me?" Sam asked. "I mean, not to be stereotypical or anything but he's small enough to go through the tunnels with ease and his father dose use a hammer."

[Maeve]

"Maybe," Mel said, reaching to touch one of the walls. "If that's the case, I hope he has come back here and will appear soon." She dusted off the wall, uncovering a piece of painting which was apparently covering most of the surface. She backed away from the wall, but the painting was also partially ruined and the part left didn't showed much. She sighed and looked around, noticing another opening on a nearby wall.

"Anyway, maybe we can go explore that way," she said, pointing at the opening. "There's not much to see here, and just sitting around won't give us anything."
