| Ah, yeah. This is really frustrating, because I have a French Fry and I kept trying to repair it and it still wasn't working. Now I see why. I guess I won't be using the battle system anymore...

| Awesomesauce. [:
Though, perhaps you can write a script or something to keep people from adding anymore stat points to their charm? O:

I didn't know why it wasn't working, and re-buying it would lose a lot of money...

| Will charm stats of 10 impact the ability to get discounts?
And until you figure out how to prevent the discount for gold, I would try to freeze the charm stats if possible.
If you find out how to script no discount for different stores, will people get their orriginal charm stats, will they be rerolled, or will everyone start out with 10?

| I figured out a way to remove charm requirements for weapons in inventories, so charm will basically be removed altogether but you'll still be able to use your weapons.

| Charm is and always has been a ridiculous stat. Implemented as a part of the D&D system that was used when ADR was built (3.0, I think) it would only have a purpose if it could actually affect, say, spellcasting like it does sorcerors, paladins and bards in D&D. Without that, it became a sort of "uh, let's just throw it in there" stupidity that should have been cut.
I think it would have been as easy to simply edit the discount code and remove/rework it, which isn't all that hard (I remember doing it on Nox for the same reason you have removed Charm now), but then you're standing with a useless stat. Alternatively, which is also what we did (a sort of weak excuse, but yeah) you could make it affect thieving, which would be as simple as to make a function in the adr_global.php file, similar to how strength affects melee attack in vanilla ADR.
On the whole, I think you dealt with it fine. The problem with ADR is balancing it so it makes it fun yet challenging, and stuff such as the discount, or the static price of, say, temple healing, is often big gripes that need to be resolved to make it more fun. But it's a work in progress.
