| I think you really have to watch your situation. If it is rather clear that the date isn't going well then just avoid it all together. If it is going ok or really good then ask, and I would say ask if you could give a kiss goodnight, or go with LOL's plan.
But yes asking is much better then just kissing her, you'll avoid so many ugly complications.

| I think LOL UR FACE is right about the age thing...
if you're around 15 or something, it's ok to ask. if not you probably should watch the situation and then deside whether or not you should try and kiss her.
what I do is, leaning into her (leaving her some space) and if she leans in as well, I kiss her on her mouth. if she doesn't do anything and just stays close I kiss her on her cheek and (if she doesn't step aside or doesn't do anything else that indicates she doesn't want me that close) I try out kissing her on her mouth afterwards (cuz she might be the shy typ or sth).
oh well, it works for me at least <3 but it's aaaaaall about atmosphere

| Personally, it depends on the person and where we go out on a date.
I really don't mind, but I don't really like to be asked if the date spot is unromantic, like the front porch. Why would you kiss someone there?
Someone could just easily flip the light on or open the door and see you guys kissing.
Unromantic!

| For me, it depends. Mainly on the type of person. Like if I was on a date with someone loud, obnoxious, and is always going from girl to girl, I would think they were trying too hard. Other than that, I would think it was cute. C:
I think it actually would make the date easier. xD Especially if like. I didn't like the person as much as I thought I did, and didn't want them to kiss me at all. I would much rather be asked then just have someone catch me off-guard or anything.
^^;
But LUF makes a point, too. The age thing. I'm 15, so I would think it's okay. But if I saw like a 30 year old do it, I would think it was a little less romantic, and more cheesy. XD

| XD I don't really see anything wrong with that. Though, I can see the potential for that to become awkward. But I personally don't mind it. I think I have had guys ask me that on dates before, come to think of it.

| I think it's very sweet to ask if it's ok to kiss the girl....On the first date though... You know I've found myself more prone to be the instigator though...so sometimes I ask. grrr

| I think it's really romantic, personally ^_^''
I've been asked that before, and I'm afraid I did laugh, but it was more because I was nervous than I thought it was silly. XD;; I was still in my teens then... XD;;
And asking after the first kiss, in certain situations while in a relationship can be cute too... I think it depends on the situation and the people. ^_^

| I can't speak for anyone else, but I personally have always gotten kinda bothered by guys asking me questions like that. It tends to feel contrived, and then I'm all put on the spot. That's just me though, I like to feel my guys have more initiative and feeling for the situation.
It could be cute in some situations though, like if you've been together for awhile, or after you've been in a fight.

| I wouldn't mind if a guy asked first. Since I'm rather shy, I'd probably end up asking him the same thing!
But of course, if you can manage to set the mood right beforehand, I'm sure you won't need to ask. Though by "set the mood" I mean being close, hugging, cuddling, etc.
It never hurts to ask, but don't hesitate if you want it.

Hey Folks, I have a quick question for the femails of Midorea:
During a date do you like it or mind if a guy asks to kiss you?
I ask because I keep thinking that if I ask a girl "May I kiss you?" she'd laugh at me.
and Guys: have you asked a girl if you ay kiss her? and what was the result? |
I don't actually have a whole lot of dating experience because I am pathetic but I think asking for permission to kiss a girl would show what a gentlemen you are. I think it's a very considerate and sweet gesture to make sure your girl is not made to feel uncomfortable.
Although I also find that spontaneous could be seen as more romantic and ...what's the phrase? Give it more of a 'wow' factor I guess is the best I can think of to put it.
