| Sorry this post is late I saw how old this thread was but I just joined here yesterday so I had not a chance while the thread was fresher as I was not here.
Anyway my mother's day was nice, its usually nothing too special with my family just a dinner which we did do the day before. My grandma treated all the mothers in the family, my mother and my aunt and I was there and my cousin since we are the reason they are mothers lol. We just had an ordinary dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant.
Going back in time though to earlier that day, I had spent the day at the mall with my friend. My aunt had called me and given me a mother's day present idea for my mom. Apparently she had gotten information that my mother had taken a liking to a perfume called Beautiful. Hearing this information baffled, and annoyed me some. I knew the expense of perfume, it was not cheap and being jobless(countless rejections ugh) money does not come too easily for me.
I know for a fact that my mother is allergic to perfume, the sent is far too strong and her nose goes crazy. So hearing my aunt say that she had asked for perfume is what baffled me. I conferred on to her a few times throughout the day as she had sent me on a price hunt and agreed to meet me later to split it with me and take some of the weight off of pathetic jobless me, if she was certain of this. Apparently my mother had assured her that this particular perfume agreed with her OK which was a first I have ever heard(apparently it actually was a first for my mother).
So my friend led me to this place in the mall that specialized in perfume and the price of the kind was pretty good. The problem was that later on as I ventured back with my aunt, she being an expert shopper spotted issues with the place that suggested dishonestly. First off the no returns exchange only policy, and secondly the send of the perfume did not seem as strong to her as the sample we were given before at Macy's. So she ventured the product might be fake.
Nortstrum's did not have the smaller bottle which was the one I was willing to pay for, so we went with Macy's and had it gift wrapped. So I gave it to her the next day and sure enough she was very happy.
Without my aunt I probably would not have gotten something like that for mother's day in fact I would not most likely get anything at all except a card because of my money situation and the fact that mother's day is not a huge deal on my list. I don't mean that badly I just feel like Valentines day it's just a marketing ploy holiday, and not a real one.
But my aunt feels it is important and encourages me where she feels necessary.
